TBH, airsoft has no real meaning in it compared to PB, PB is worldwide and has so many things associated with it.

May be true, but airsoft LOOKS good. The weapons we use are replicas of the original, and most of the skirmishers wear authentic army or stealth uniforms, and it isn't as expensive as paint ball ^^

i have a VLoader....gay.....but i'm interested in teh spider imagine.. looks hott and adequate for a player of my caliber..

I definately love this sport even though some people argue that it's not a sport. If it can keep me in shape then it's a sport to me. It's so cool. But of course when i first started playing it, it wasn't so great because my gun was crap (Spyder XTRA) But then I started uprgrading it and it got better but then I realized buying a spyder pilot acs was a whole lot cheaper. Now I'm shooting for an Angel. I don't have the money though.

Well i used to. Back in high school my neighborhood would host a paintball war and its was all sooooo sweeeet!
The battle between team red and team blue would be on a huge deserted facility of some sort.

I played something a lot like it once. Except we were using rubber balls and they didnt blow up on impact. Hurt a lot and we would often run around on the floor looking for ammo lol. Although it was fun all the same.

Played this only a couple of times but i truly enjoyed those moments. This sport is really fun and exciting. I still remembered my cousin telling me that girls are lousy shooters and PB players. Sure hurt his pride alot when i managed to shoot him 3 times at the same spot. *cheers*

But i dont play the sport now particularly because i have no friends who shared the same interest here. :(

I play it four/five times a year with Vampyrelord and a few other friends - it's too expensive to do it more than that :(. It's really fun, though - sooo satisfying when you shoot someone =D.

^ i totally agree with you. It's really fun, even when you couldnt avoid being shot, to shoot someone (my cousin on his head :p), especially when you needed something to cool/calm yourself down.

Yep, it hurts. Ones I got shout behind the mask, right behind ear. That was painful.

there are a couple areas when you get hit itil always hurt, the armpits to name one, but really in many cases due to the ammount of adrenaline you have worked up it does now hurt near as much as it would usualy, and another thing is, if you are not concerned about getting hit, or afraid of getting it it will actualy hurt less and less as you do get hit.

Last year I got shot in the forehead from five feet...really...ouch :(. Everything wen't blurry and spinning for about 10 seconds....

Out of all the possible masks, why did I have to get the one without a forehead protector? XD

But yeah, generally, getting shot doesn't hurt too much - it's just slightly nervewracking the first couple of times you do it, because they come so fast.

@ Sumpf - aren't you like...a pro, or something? :) I seem to remember Maxi saying something like that.

Not a pro, i made a sarcastic comment on irc a while back about being pro because ive practiced with teams that play pro teams. I just do in-state tournaments, but we get people from every part of colorado there playing in them. Also a comment on a mask with no forehead protector, I usualy dont like masks with forehead protectors o.O

Give me a run down of your experience, funny stories, or famous people you've met.

I've been playing for 7 years, started out playing woodsball, got into local tournaments, then made the jump to national level in 04. I played PSP D3 Xball for 04, and then played D2 in 05. I lucked out because a great D1 team was local to me, so I got to practice with some of the best players in the game. They would host NXL players/teams for practices before most events, so I got to meet, shoot, and get shot by most of the big names in Paintball today.

After the 05 season I decided I would concentrate on school(college is expensive) and dropped from the national level. I still play about once a month or so and still beat on my old team mates at regular times. I'm also counting the days until I can pick it back up, and play twice a week like I was.



So who else has the addiction?

Wow, thats quite a list Ejh28. I used to play woodsball with 10-20 friends in my woods. Played about thirty or so games, usually in the commander position. Don't really have the time to play a whole lot unfortunately.

Im looking to do some balling this summer. Go up to North Florida and do a Waynes World scenerio. Good Fun. I got a Xmag. Most awesome looking gun ever. I got a Halo 2 hopper and Warp feed with nitro and compressed air set up. Good fun

Call the field you want to go play at in advance, explain that it's for your birthday, and no one(or few) have played before. If you have over 12 - 15 people most fields will discount stuff for you.

And safety is not an issue, every field i've ever been at or ran games for, gives a safety speech before you can take the field.

I've played PB for a long time, and the worse thing that ever happened to me was either some bruises from dives, or the occasional welt from a paintball.

Hmm this is a really old thread lol. I'll put my 2 cents in though.

I love the sport. Only sport I actually play. Given that I haven't played in a while (lack of money/job...LoL). Bought an Angel G7 Fly about a year or two ago and love it. I F***ed up though when ordering it and got a highpressure output tank lol... (like 850 or some crap) so I had to have it fixxed to low pressure (puts out around 400-450) so that added another 20-30$ onto the already hefty price tag. Never really played competitive as I couldn't afford it and just didn't have people to play with. But yea, best sport, to me at least. I'll see if I can post a pic or two of my gear (though it will be via camera phone lol...).

Well... What are their reasons for not letting you play? Compared to a lot of other sports, paintball is really just as, if not more safe.

LoL. Well it depends really. If you play at a field (paintball field), they have limits to how fast you can shot and the FPS at which your allowed to shoot at, so no one gets hurt to bad. A lot of places also have no-bunkering rules for newer players. It also depends on your gender lol. I'v been told getting shot in the breasts hurts, but I'm sure the same goes for getting shot in the male part of the body as well (I'm lucky enough to never been shot there... yet). I usually wear forearm/elbow pads for slideing, but they protect significantly against shots that land on the arm. Same goes for knee pads. It really only hurts in the "bony" part of your body, like shins, elbows, knees, forearms, hands (are the worse... wear gloves lol) and of course the neck... I usually only play in shorts and a pair of jeans and usually just a t-shirt/thin longsleeve shirt. Once the adrenalines pumping you really tend not to feel anything unless it's in a really sensitive area.

Have you ever played/been shot before? It really isnt that bad. 80% of the time you barely even feel it hit you. I've had quite a few times a ref has had to call me out because I kept playing after being shot and just not noticing it. Usually the more gear you have on though, like a harnass, less likely you are to notice being shot.

I have one time though, got a new pair of gloves and was playing in the woods, and got shot in the hand and was like "holy shit, I didn't even feel that", so I had my brother shoot me point blank in the hand... Let's just say... that was a stupid idea. Hurt so bad the shit made me naseous.

And you don't have to wear full-face, only eye-protection.

LoL. It would be stupid.. Given there really isn't much protection between a t-shirt and skin, that little bit of protection helps a lot more then you might think. I never was much for wearing all sorts of clothing (t-shirts, longsleeves, sweatshirts all at once) because I've always been told it hurts more when you get shot. Not sure if it's true, but it does usually hurt more to be shot be a paintball that doesn't explode on impact and instead bounces off.
