Anyone know Airsoft guns?
Airsoft is like paintball, but with small plastic balls instead of 'paintballs', and the weapons are exact replicas of the real thing
I can't play professional yet (age rule, have to wait a few years)
So, does anyone play it, or has an airsoft gun (or better known as a BB gun)?
If yes, which one, and what do you like about it
I'm currently looking for an M85 ---> linkie (http://www.kapowwe.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=1-2-793&Category_Code=)

oh, nice choice!
Thought getting that one (or of that type) but they're not available in Belgium, but I guess an M85 or a Navy Seal UTG 5 isn't bad ;-p

Do you skirmish with friends or what? I have a skirmish with friends almost every month. btw have you been shot by an airsoft shotgun?:sad doesn't feel too good
Ian Altano
09-20-2006, 01:56 PM
I don't skirmish much, mostly I just do target-practice and see if I can pick up a new gun somewhere, or bullets (running low on them bullets Xd)
and yes, I have shot myself in the leg from point blank range to see if it really hurts
It did XD

I got shot point blank too. My team was clearing a room, and I was the first one to clear the room. As I did a quick scan of the room a dude from the other team was pressed against the wall by the door and blasted me in the in the ribs.
It sucked XD

What type of clothing do you wear when you airsoft?
Ian Altano
09-20-2006, 04:56 PM
I wear all black with a custom belt with several pouches for extra bullets and mags a small bag on my upper arm conceiling another mag or perhaps a snack (lol)
nothing too special, some of us don't wear special stuff at all...

Yeah well I war a paintball mask(cause it came with my paintball gun) and combat boots I got when I was In MCJROTC(marine corps reserve officer training corps), and also have a black nylon jacket. I kept qute a few bb's from getting under my skin.

I started airsoft about a year ago, and now I have TM MP5SD6, and gaspistol Steyr M-GB as a backup. I haven't played airsoft in quite some time now, for few months, because me and my friends haven't got enough players. I could go play to my town's airsoft team, but most of the dudes there are stupid. I wear Bundeswehr camo-suit and BW-boonie. When I start playing airsoft seriously again I'm going to buy black Viper vest! It looks so good. My other friends wear armygear too. My family's friend, an older man, collects airsoft stuff and I get to borrow his stuff sometimes and my friends are pissed off about it :D because I can borrow from him for example AK-47 and Swiss Army's M6 Black eagle. I'm waiting to test that sniper M6 next time I go airsoft.

What type of powering do you prefer? Gas, spring, or eletric
For me I have to say spring because of the simplicity of it.
Ian Altano
09-23-2006, 10:29 AM
yeah, spring is the best, although electric is cool too, just the reloading times suck Xd
Hazerdous
09-23-2006, 03:27 PM
Electric. Automatic fire and works in winter, unlike gas. But gas is very good in summer.
InsanesnakeShinigami
09-24-2006, 03:23 AM
eletric doesnt seem as powerful as spring.

I say the automatic is all around gud. ive done lots of research on it like 1-2 years ago

btw ive developed an awsome reloading system for spring
What is it?
InsanesnakeShinigami

well its not a system per se but it does get the job done. Its the way you position your body and have your hands. I will post a pic later

Well cheap airsoft guns that work on batteries are no good, but airsoft guns that work on 8,4V loadable batteries are a bit more effective than spring working guns. And I like it more when I don't need to wank the reload stick like crazy, but just switch firing mode to Full auto and fire!

Sry for double-post, but no one would notice activity in this poll if I just edited last post (right?).
At last next Saturday me and my friends are going to airsoft! I truly hope that nothing goes wrong. We haven't airsofted for many months and when we have tried to airsoft, in the end something goes wrong and we can't play. I'm going to test that Swiss Army's M6 Black eagle too. Black Eagle is going to fly this weekend :toocool: Haha

Cool. I am geeting a new gun this week. Its a cheap little SOCOM. I also decided to get a cheap eletric gun from Walmart.

Hope you have fun with them.
Well, we did airsoft last weekend. But I had horrible time playing, I dont know why but I totally lost interest during the game. I was playing with that M6 the first game, but I couldn't go very far hiding with it, because it didn't shoot that far. At least not with the ammo I used, and I had installed a scope in it, which wasn't such a great idea. I ended up lying in the grass about 15 min and cursing the world. I should get that scope out of it and use a bit more heavier ammo. Then it should be good.

I just have a glock 18, not the nicest nor most expensive gun, its spring powered (yawn) but I just bought it for some fun target practise with my buddy.
It only shoots 260+ feet per second, but damn it still hurts lol

I used to play airsoft, had a TM G36C and some gas operated pistol. It's a fun hobby but expensive as hell.

Woo we've got some airsoft players here eh? I used to be really into it, but I havn't had time to go to any events in a while. I've got a Classic Army M16A3 (newer one not the old crappy ones) with an upgraded spring it, so its shooting like 405ish fps. It's a lot of fun if you live in or around Ohio there is a pretty decent sized following here the site for it is www.airsoftohio.com
And yea I've been shot by some pretty upgraded guns, like 500ish fps. Yea ok there is no paint and its honor system when we play, but it hurts...quite a bit, so generally you don't have a problem shouting "I'm out"
Kuroudo
04-26-2008, 10:33 PM
Im just a casual player, i played today with my friends in the backyard the Mp5 sucks without a fully charged battery, my M16 was good too really good but unforuanlly its needs to have better firepower. The m16 broke when i ran out of ammo and went in a blaze of glory and stabbed someone with it the top fell off! my next gun is the Xm8 saw some pretty good deals online and the local one is 160 bucks, OUCH!! im definently not getting a spring one though, it may be strong but its i prefer Semi-automatic/Automatic.
500ish fps
Thats some pretty upgraded guns, my m16 is only 310 FPS. i got shot in the head allot for some unknown reason, my head is a bullet magnet T_T.
for those of you who dont know how much it hurts, its like you get pinched for a milisecond. but upclose with a shotgun, its for like 10 seconds. suggest you wear thick clothing, remember people ALWAYS wear goggles in play.

Yea dude AEG's are the way to go. As for the 500 fps guns, there are some guys with gas powered guns that they have to turn all the way down because they'll shoot 700+ fps if they dont. The biggest issue with upgrading the spring and whatnot is that you have to upgrade everything, because it puts a lot of strain on the rest of the internals. I personally rarely use fully automatic and tend to favor semi-auto.
Kuroudo
04-28-2008, 07:14 PM
Semi-Auto FTW, Full is only good for what, indoor CQB's? im getting a G36C but its only 260FPS my friend says only guns above 290 are worth buying.
Reyin
04-29-2008, 12:46 AM
What brand is it? If its Tokyo Marui then all you should need to do it upgrade the bushings and get a better spring to put it at like 340-360ish much more than that however and you're going to need to upgrade more.

I'd just be careful buying off brand stuff, some of it is alright, some of it is junk. Ebay can be a good way to get a good price, but it also means if something doesn't work right you'll probably have to pay out of pocket to fix it =/ I ran into that problem with the first gun I bought on Ebay so I bought my current one from an actual vendor. If you're not really playing competitively it probably doesn't matter too much though.

probably last gun i will get is an M4A1 Tokyo Marui, i prefer to carry 3 guns (two assault rifles or one assault rifle and a SMG, + a small pistol) I saw some good deals online but there is a local shop but usually it costs huge there, found for 99.99 (+ 30$ shipping grr) its an expensive hobby, going to have to wait awhile to atcually buy this thins the seller is an Ebay airsoft store (which is probably the biggest airsoft store on ebay and is reliable) however i probably wont be getting this bad-boy soon
1. i need to get some more muscles because this thing is at 8 pounds in weight, i know i can carry it but my friend gets tired of carrying his 10 pound M14.
2. Im about to get GTA IV and my parents buy everything for me but its a hard-work reward system and i have to space out the number of rewards i get, i cant get a 140$ Airsoft gun AND a 60 dollar video game, We are trying to conserve money too so times are tough, for getting this gun.
Reyin
05-01-2008, 10:59 PM
Why does yours weigh that much o__O mine has a full metal body and whatnot, yet it doesn't weigh that much. As for Tokyo Marui they're a great company, they put out a quality product. If you're looking to buy a gun thats already upgraded then Classic Army is a good company as well, like I said thats what mine is. If money is an issue then yea ebay is probably your best bet, but if you ever get real into it then you're probably going to spend around $400 to get an upgraded higher end gun.
Kuroudo
05-06-2008, 12:40 AM
The only upgrades i would ever give a gun is a scope silencer (f it works) and a highcapacity magaszine that stuff runs out quickly. I will get either one of TM guns, well evutanlly both but the second would will come after i save up money (awhile)
1. M4 Carbine Tokyo Marui 400 FPS comes with laser sight and scope AEG Electric.
2. L96 Arctic Warfare 450 FPS Bolt Action AEG electric. Comes with Scope and Bipod.
ever fire an L96? its weird looking where the trigger is im good with a Bolt Action rifle but idk how to fire that thing wheres the damn trigger its like a P-90 lol.

Nah I haven't the only "sniper" rifles I've fired were gas, other than a psg-1 that a friend of mine has. If you're going to get something to snipe with though you might as well get something 500fps. A lot of organizations, like most of the ones I've been to have fps caps based on what you're shooting. 400 is usually the limit for full-auto but thats slightly flexible, mine shoots like 415 and no one has ever really said anything to me, then again I usually shoot semi anyways.

Kuroudo

Yeah, but me and my friends are not allowed to play with gas rifles only gas pistols apparently they're "too powerful". but still 450 FPS spring is a good deal.
i got a UTG sniper instead 440 FPS.
Does anyone know how to replace the spring in the gun with another one? im changing from an M120 to an M150,
M120=350-400FPS
M150=440-520FPS
im also doing it on an Jing Gong (JG) M4A1, no S-System cus it looks gay.
