I'm starting to watch the anime in japanese. It's great. I read the manga a while ago and i love to draw pics from it. the manga was way to short in my opinion.

LOVE BOTH THE ANIME AND THE MANGA! they all rock...and yes i would have to agree with grieversangel the manga was way to short......but i guess better a short series than a series that drags on forever *cough naruto cough* <<

wat?? r u taking a shot at naruto!!??? o.O
lol, :p if u mean the fillers then i totally agree...but otherwise Naruto doesn't drag at all. it's one of those longer series with more focus on character development.

the manga of most shows are much better than the series anyhow... But this one's just way off, especially the way the guy draws chii, gotta love that.

At first it may seem like another boy meets mysterious girl kind of story, but Chobits goes much deeper that your average shounen story.

The storyline explores some of the more mature aspects of an imminent future with machines replacing humans, of love, friendship, and what it really means to be "alive."

Though even with it's mature themes, the overall look of Chobits is lighthearted at best. The comedy is very funny, though a bit ecchi at times it's done tastefully enough that anyone can enjoy it!

All in all, Chobits plays out as a well written and thoroughly enjoyable love story.

Ok, I confess. I'm late at discovering this amazing series, but after reading it over the weekend, all I can say is just... WOW! It's rare to see a "comic" be so profound while appearing on the surface to be just a boy meets girl type of story. DDH made some ecvellent points there, though I would that one of the aspects of the story is how do you define happiness, what can you do not just to make yourself happy, but to make someone else happy, and if you cause someone else to be happy, do you end up being happier?

It's one of those stories that I'm sure I'll be reading many, MANY times, and will find new things each time I read it. I'll post a more coherent review (or try to at least) later on, after I go back and read it a second time. For now, though, I'm trying to get all the anime because I've seen, like, the first 10 episodes, and it looks like it's mostly fluff so far... I can't imagine that in 16 more episodes they're going to be able to go as deep as the manga... But I certainly can't stop at just 10. :D

Well... I didn't find it worth another read after finishing it (and I have read it from chapter one to end without stop).

Certainly it had its own strong points and it's quite deep, but it didn't quite play with me.

And call me a pervert, but I was profoundly disappointed that they could have to true sexual interaction ;).

OK, you're a pervert. :P but that's just part of what makes you such a good captain. :D lol.

I personally think that it's great to have that innuendo without actually going there adn dealing with the repercussions of human/persocom sex. I thought it was really challenging what they did at the end as well... but that's all I'm going to say here. :D just in case someone is reading who hasn't gotten to the end yet...

I think that chapter 73 of teh manga was the most intense emotionally for me. the dialogue between Minoru and Yuzuki was just note perfect, IMHO. Seeing the lengths he went to to preserve his memory, and then

ending up falling in love with Yuzuki, and being comfortable with the fact that she could never replace his sister...

great stuff.

Well... I'm not (that much) of a computer geek, so I found it strange that he fell in love with his computer (although from a male's point of view, I can understand perfectly well ;)).

What I found quite irritating though, is the philosophical inclination of the writer, identifying persocons as "equal to humans" (the whole Chobits program was meant to delete the persocons if people didn't acknowledge them as human beings -.-'). I personally didn't agree with it (might be why I never wanted to read it again, despite the emotional depth).

But that's a debate for another place.

It's not all that har dto believe since they made them very interactive in every way possible. They are close to being human only thing is the ears. I believe if computers do become like that you'll really find alot ofguys having hot persacons with them and women will then begin getting angry and a whole new bunle of trouble will erupt about the continuation of the human race since more and more people would be having "relations" with their persacons instead of with real people.

OK, I see where you're coming from, but you're right... that's a seriously long debate to be had off-board. if you're on MSN anytime soon, ping me. I took that power of Chi's differently.
