Oh yea...thats right..
I just interupted some dude at 4 am in the morning trying to steal shit out of our kitchen..
I was in my bed next to the wall which has on the other side the back door on the computer when i heard the door creak...So no big deal i thought it was my mother as she usually does stuff like that in the middle of the night to let the cats out...
But then i heard my mother snoring on the other side of the wall of my room.
So i got up and grabbed this off my desk which i have along with another one for just such a cause.

I opened my door and quietly walked into the kitchen and saw the back of a guy taking off out the back door..I ran after him with only my Boxers on out the door down the driveway and halfway down the street before he ran into another driveway..
At which point i stopped chasing because there were no lights down the drive way and i am that smart enough..
I went back to my place woke up my mother got her to call the cops..They came took our statements and are now patrolling the area with the description i gave of what he was wearing...
Now it's 4:15 am and I am so not going back to sleep and i'm sitting here with both knifes in my lap and the phone next to me at my desk.

From the thread title I was expecting to read about some kind of new TV show :eek13: Good to hear nothing was stolen though, any idea how he got in (I mean, was the door unlocked or something)?
We keep our back door unlocked always have for about 10 years...
I sleep with my head about 30 cm away from it through a wall..so i could hear it open when i was on the comp in bed.

Well I am glad you are unhurt. Most theives don't want to fight unless they are strung up on something like meth. You were lucky nobody was hurt and nothing was taken. I bet you will be locking that door from now on. I too sleep with weapons, a long knife, flashlight, and hatchet right near my bed. Hatchet's for throwin' knife is for slash/stabbing and the flashlight is for seeing incase its really dark. ^_^

Ah crap, good thing nothing serious happened.
I think that guy was just testing out the houses in your neighborhood and found that your door was unlocked.
So are you gonna lock that door this time?

Good thing also that you're a light sleeper Ai. Some people (including myself) cant wake up even if someone was dancing beside my bed.
whoa! it's good that u and ur family are safe..
And, U guys better start locking that door of yours....

glad to hear that you and your mom are safe and that the guy didn't take anything. hopefully the cops catch this dude. he might come back to scope out the neighborhood or test your door again.
if i had to rob your house, i would bring my naginata with me to protect me from you and your knives :3

Nice job chasing him off. It is pretty amazing that you are able to walk up from someone opening the door. You must be a light sleeper like me.

I am thoroughly impressed, my dear... Glad everyone and everything is safe where they belong. Good job on the waking up; they could've stolen the bed right out from underneath me and I'd still be dreaming away... I hope the adrenaline rush fades and you can get some decent rest, with the back door locked of course.

I wasn't sleeping i was on the computer chatting on IRC...:lol
And yea the adrenaline rush has gone now that i've had sleep during the day..
But i think i'll stay up early tonight again just in case.

Nothing's probably going to happen after what happened last night, but I suppose a bit of paranoia is understandable after all of that... Although to be honest, I think your thief is a little more scared than you are right now. The only one I've ever encountered in our home was about to piss himself, but then again, he wasn't a stranger so he knew he was screwed once my missus found him. But seriously, there's nothing like threatening someone with a knife to make them want to avoid you...
Godd nothing was taken, how long are the blades of the knives? Like Gaiden~Sama I am a heavy sleeper and can't wake up for ****!! If he comes again will you take him out?

Lessons learnt:
Lesson 1 - Always have knives at your bedside
Lesson 2 - Feel free to chase someone around in the middle of the night with boxers/underwear on...
LOL...ok what did I just say???!!
Anyway, must've been fun running around half naked, right Ai?
Oh yea....
Considering it was only -1 degrees....Yea fun...

Luckily you weren't hurt. I thought most bugulars/thiefs would carry at least a firearm or some weapon when they start ransacking somebody's property.

He must've been an amateur thief...maybe that's why he didn't carry a weapon...he just forgot to take one with him...*shrugs* >.<

He might have had a weapon he probably took off because i surprised him...

Wow, so you guys Ai to like die or get seriously hurt? lol
Talking about how he was an amatuer not carrying a weapon. Good thing he wasn't carrying a weapon because if it was me robbing a house, I would either carry a BIG KNIFE or a gun.
It probably was you Azn..
:p...
I thought the back looked familiar.

Man that's so freekay! I salute you brother for chasing after him. Dude, I'm glad you and your family are ok and that nothing was nicked.. just the thought of him possibly carrying a gun would make you scared shi*less. I reckon anyway.
Btw.. I reckon chasing after him, with a knife may have been the after-math of watching BLEACH and stuffs:face82:

You should've thrown your knife at his back and when it hit him you could've yelled "Bankai!!"

If only it were that easy
In Australia, the thief can sue you and stuff

Are you serious?? So the theif can take Alex to court saying "I attempted to rob his house and was Bankai'd in the process?"

k i havnt read all the other posts but isn't that just robbery by an idiot who steals from houses when people are home.
and another real question here is why was that knife on your desk, both my diving and filleting knife are in a drawer across from my desk.

Yeah.. that's exactly it...
Like this one time, a theif landed on a knife and sued the hell out of the owner.

well its good that no one got hurt (except the intruder), or that anything didn't get stolen, which reminds me that someone broke into my unlce's house and got away with some stuff (luckily not a lot because of their german shepard guar)
