Since its just around the corner, I figured I should ask what everyone's plans are for Halloween. Do you celebrate? What is your costume going to be?

My family's pagan and this (Samhain) is considered our New Year, so we go all out. But I'm excited more so because this year I'm going to a friend's costume/birthday party as a modern interpretation of Eris (the Greek goddess of Chaos).

So yeah... share plans, pictures, whatever :)

Halloween is my favorite holiday, my sig and avatar are all set-up for halloween :lol

Anyway, I'd probably go out with my friends in the middle of the night and venture to a dark cold town and walk around the cemetary and see if we see something. It what me and my buds have been doing since college :)

hmm.. well halloween seems to be more American... or is entirely amercian. so here in Australia hardly anything happens :(
lolz... i never really got to experience true halloween just like there's no "white christmas" (no snow - fricken summer here during Xmas).
But yeah, we do have kids who dress up and go knocking on doors to get free candy XD
But nothing too special sadly.

Well yeah it is, in our place we call Halloween as All Soul's Day. Mostly we remember the dead like festivals or visiting the graves of the dearly departed. :)

^^the same goes for us here. we rarely wear costumes and scary stuffs. all we do is gather all of our friends and exchange scary stories or watch scary movies like the grudge, hills have eyes, etc.. and during november 1, we always go to the cemetery to visit our departed family members.

We don't really celebrate Halloween as a serious occasion, we do it just for fun. Halloween's a real nice day...oh hey btw, do you guys get holidays for halloween? Just curious. We don't.

I wish! I usualy have midterms around that time *sighs* Although if you're pagan you can put in with your college to take time off for the holiday at the beginning of the semester, but I never bothered to do so because my family usually celebrates on the weekend... and I'm too lazy to deal with the paperwork. :)

Really? I didn't know they would consider giving a holiday at all. That's nice to know. Ok I'm not exactly familiar with paganism, I have an idea but I want to be fully accurate so can anyone give me a brief outlook on the subject, if this is the right thread to discuss it, that is.

Thanks.

i guess we're Lucky because most of the time, that day is declared as a holiday but if not, they make sure that it is included within our sem-break. so, yeah. either way, we have no classes during that day. ^_^

I haven't 'celebrated' Halloween for about 7 years. :P

Around here, no one really goes trick-or-treating, and it never really was a big thing for me. Halloween is a school day for me this year. To be honest, I think having a holiday on Halloween is ridiculous. >.>

Limit the chat spam please :).

I live in the same country as Evanesque does so she pretty much answered it for me. Other than that there is the fact that I don't like going to loud parties so there's a fairly decent chance I'll stay indoors during that day =p.

We don't really celebrate Halloween here. Whats the meaning of Halloween anyway? I know its some American holiday, do you guys actually get a day off?

If I was younger and I lived in America, I would go trick of treating. Too old for that now.

Munky
10-16-2006, 02:57 PM
Will do Z_Blitz :)

In the U.S. they take Halloween as a celebration incorporating the dead. More likely its a holiday where you can go around and spook people.

eeeek i love halloween fun fun fun ^_^ i used to go trick or treating but now i just go to parties with my friends. I remember when i was younger like 6 and i did a halloween party and decorated the whole house, sadly after waiting outside for an hour no one turned up. But any ways this year i have a really cool costume, like a dark angel. A lacy black top with a gothic skirt and black furry angel wings mwhahaha. I might attempt to make a halo..

I remember dressing up for Halloween when I was.... seven or so? Then after that I don't recall ever going trick-or-treating.

My school has a halloween dance party which I'll never go to.

I'm gonna dress up as a vampire and trick-or-treat. I'm probally getting to old for this now, but I'm gonna milk this free candy stuff for all its wortb. MAHAHAHA. When they stop giveing me candy cuz they say I'm too old I'll ether wear a mask (I'm short. I'll blend right in.) or hire a kid to do it for me. MUHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!1

I used to celebrate, but then things change. Is not a traditional innocent celebration anymore. My mother took the fun saying that is a devil's celebration. And since I'm not in tha mood I just limit myself to lock down and not going out till the next day. In some cases well I just stay calm.

There's no real Halloween in France. Depending on where you live, some neighbourhoods do the trick or treat, but definitely not where I live...
I'll probablydo something alone with my little bro, though.

I used to love Halloween and I still do quite a bit, but I don't really celebrate it nor any other holiday for that matter. I do what I usually do on Halloween; stay in my basement watching horror movies and read ghost stories online. Actually, the entire month of October feels like one giant Halloween holiday to me. It used to be so much fun when I was a kid. I'll never forget the trick or treating that I used to go on with my friends. Those were the best times.

Well, my birthday is on Halloween... So I party anyway :D ... But we don't officialy party this holiday, some people say it has bad influence >_<... In school we used to make parties on the friday be4 it... We had weird costumes and we decorated the class... We had an English teacher that helped us with all the stuff, she was very funny and nice. It brings up memories ^-^... We go and visit the thumbs of dead ones in the 1st of November (it's some kind of day when we celebrate the dead one...friends or from the family usually)...
So, let`s have fun :D

I'm seriously not gonna join halloween, but I will scream "BANKAI!!!! HITSUGAYA, MOMO, SOI-FONG, AND ICHIGO ARE COOL!!!!!!!" in my room a lot of time. Then when my older sibling mad about it, I'll scream, "AAAHHH!!!! A HOLLOW IS HERE!!!!" runs around to escape from them, then take a Zanpaktou, hit their heads. Then goes calm down again, and start the beginning again. *smirk* But I might wear a shinigami clothes (well, my mom has a simple black kimonos, boys and girls.) then have a Bleach Halloween Party with my friends it my house!

it isnt our practice here to go treak or treating and have some halloween-themed parties at home ^^ so yeah, basically we just go visit our departed loved ones and then have a party at the cemetary (not kidding). the cemetary has more people, more lights and more foods than any other place during that time.

Mm where I live, everyone goes trick-or-treating, despite their age :p (I'm talking about school kids, not adults >_>). Everyone here are all like 'zomg I miss being young' and do all the things like this. Umm, I'm probably going to trick-or-treat myself with my sister and our group of friends (ages ranging from 15-18 :p). We're all probably going to dress up as crayons so we can all match. Maybe a few people will be a crayon box or paper, who knows? lol it'll be fun, I hope.

[EDIT] Oh yeah, Nevada Day is on Halloween as well, so they usually give us a day off. But since Halloween is on a tuesday this year, they just gave us the 27th off =p

where i live, halloween just became popular 2 years ago. so it's not something as big as in the USA.
but more and more kids are going treat or tricking which makes it very fun.

as far as a costume, i won't be wearing anythin fancy, probably just a monster mask or something. eventually make up.

anyway,
