Rukia/Renji Question...

Sorry if this has been asked, but I'll post it here since it most likely won't spoil anything for anyone...

Question...

Why is it that when Renji is first introduced on Earth, he is so quick in wanting to kill Rukia for her crime, yet on Soul Society, he is so dead set on saving her from the death sentence...

Is there a difference between dying on Earth and dying in the Soul Society???

I haven't really followed that too much since I haven't had a chance to really delve into Bleach as much as I'd like to...

Some people have answered this question with "He was just messing with Rukia on Earth, and wasn't really trying to kill her..."

It sure didn't seem that way...

thats a conflict of interest problem. he wants to follow the rules, but that would mean his best friend would die... then again if he defies the rules, she lives... and in front of byakuya who always follows the rules, he can only do the same, he would never defy his captain.
