D. Gray-man is a depreciated manga which doesnt get alot of recognition around the western world, however...have any of you read/read the manga? like me =D

I started on the anime recently though and one thing's for sure, it REALLY reminds me of FMA. The comic + sad drama element is rather simililar to FMA.

I still don't get the innocence bit but I suppose the anime will explain more in the future =P OH! Know anywhere I can get access to the manga? =)

I agree that it is very remniscent of FMA ^. The main character Allen Walker is a lot like Edward Elric with physical appearance and their life stories. However, it has some very well-drawn Victorian Era backgrounds and an overall high level art style. I've gotten bored though and still haven't finished Volume 2.

Well. I think it's unfair to automatically assume that the manga artists ideas for the plot where taken from elsewhere. Personally, I think D. Gray Man is a very exciting manga - or maybe because it's just my type of genre.

Its just that the plot reminds me of FMA. Then again, alot of other anime reminds me of FMA. Eg. Busou Renkin -- A new alchemy anime. :biggrinlo

I have read about 90 chapters of D. Grayman and I loved it at first, the Earl is such a original villan. A fat old guy with a smile that will make you miss Gin's :Haha
But lately it has gotten a bit dull. The drawings have gone a bit to sketchy and the story isent that intresting longer...
But I havent given up on it and can definetly recomend it.

i, liking anything with a sort of Heavenly/God them, have found teh greatness of D. Gray man. the earl is really kool cuz hes so light on the outside, then goes dark and kills without a second thought. greatness i tell you! greatness! i also really like it when(in the first book me tink) that Earl realizes that Allen can see the ghosts in the Akuma and the black/white reverse. I now doodle it alot. Also teh earl is so powerful and i adore his means of subduction. whoever wrote it(forgive me for not memorizing it) is genius. Mad genius, like most manga writers/fans! :D (no offense to those who are called "sane")

The anime seems to have spiraled down; they changed too much from the original storyline.

As for the manga...

Allen's new powers confuzzle me. Crowned Clown mode looks a bit ugly, but WTH is going on? He seems weaker than Crowly, and the Earl is definitly stronger.

And lastly where are the Akumas? Seems like they are completely unimportant.

Oh last thing. Anyone wants to speculate what are Cross' powers?

Well Cross' powers must be really great.. sth rare and extremely powerfull.. cant think of anything right now.. could be another paracite type but thats not that cool i guess..
and about Allens crowned clown powers.. i think he is definately stronger but right now they havent shown much in order to estimate his power.. plus they are fighting with a noah so ordinary akumas and which lvl akuma Allen can destroy easily isnt available right now..
and about the akumas.. i have now idea:p.. ill check the previus chapters.

I just started reading D gray man a couple days ago and I've read about the first 3 volumes. I read the English volumes, and the next doesn't come out until February so I'm considering starting to read the manga online. Do chapters come out weekly like Bleach?

I watched a bit of the anime but for some reason it just doesn't have the same appeal that the manga does so I just dropped it.

I think the Crown Clown is a hell of a lot stronger than Allen's previous level 2 weapon. It's the true form of his Innocence, so I can't imagine it getting much stronger than what it is now. Hell, it destroyed a level 3 Akuma with ease.

There is nothing wrong with characters dying.

And Allen's new power is strong - he beat a level 3 Akuma easily with it, but he is losing against the Noahs and the Earl is stronger than the Noahs.

Also Crowley the vampire is really showing how good a character he is by nearly catching those Noah twins whereas the other ones (including Allen) couldn't catch them.

I've only seen a couple episodes of the anime, and I'm current with the manga. I have to say that hands down the manga is better in all ways. From what I've heard the anime is a lot of filler..which is never good. Read the manga, it doesn't take long to catch up. I caught up to chapter 123 in like 2 days.

i just started watching the manga, and fell completely inlove with linali also (why?!*reference to later chapters*), i do find the resemblance between allen and edward elric, but i find it fun, since allen's also cool, besides, even if its kinda sad, its one of the most awesome ongoing shonen manga, i myself believe it to be better than naruto (i love naruto but kishi is taking advantage of its popularity, naruto should have just beated the crap out of sasuke in the valley of the end fight and turned hokage right away)

Allen has the 14th's memories. But it's also written sorta like he IS the 14th. So I'm still not sure if they're saying he'll be like an actual Noah or not. Since afterall, the Noahs are all made what they are based on the original Noah's memories.

If they were going to do that they would have "killed" Marian in front of Allen.


Looking at the last page again I have noticed that it appears that no fight took place. So it might be that Marian committed suicide. It hurts to say it but it looks that way. The blood is in going up which might mean that he shot himself. The barrel of his innocent was also smoking which would suggest that he fired a round. If he fired a round then we would have seen someone else die.

Not if they hit him before he could fire. And even if he did get in more than one shot, so what? He hurt/killed a few of them. He's still dead.

Well, the mystery continues, which is excellent.

There you have it. A manga with intriguing secrets which we really want to find out. Not crap like Bleach (yay for Gayhorn! *pukes*) or Naruto ("OMG Sasuke is getting be- no, never mind, he is pulling a new power right about" for the millionth time). This new mystery is intriguing enough to make me wonder what's the mangaka's plan for this character.

And it would indeed appear as if they skipped a head a few months at least. Maybe even years. I sure hope it's a reasonable amount of time, so that our heroes can show off new stuff and the Earl can disclose the secret of the Akuma :3.

True, but they could promote him to General ithout him having any real authority. Hence the alleged "he doesn't look very happy". He might be stuck in being a General but being followed every step of the way.

A WHOLE 10 DAY TIME SKIP!!! I was hoping for a better chapter then we got.

Its only a ten day one. Good theories by all of you, but lack of info strikes again. I personally think this is the best manga out there, its well above naruto and bleach and one piece. Its serious, though still has its humourous moments, the main character isnt :an idiot, a whiner, and he gets shit done. I'd say hes the most well rounded hero of any manga I've read in a while, definatly able to hold his own but not holding some ultimate secret weapon like naruto and ichigo (kyuubi and ogihci). The 14th noah is actually more a curse than a blessing just in case someone was gonna use that as an argument.

The plot moves along slowly revealing old secrets and creating new ones which keeps people reading, but she doesnt allow it to get old. It has some flaws, and was slow in some parts, and has the whole (zomg i fight for my friends) theme to it, but the pros outweith the cons imo.

I read the chapter, It just seems like Allen is sad that the general is gone or that like someone said he's lost all his freedom and hes angry hes not trusted.

And one of the reasons I like DGM is BECAUSE theres no lame fanservice. And fanservice present is generally subtle. And as far as girls go, we got road, that one other noah, that one modded akuma that died, the lady that died, lenalee, miranda, and the general. I agree that a few more female exorcists would be nice, but its not like theres none.

Well, this chapter was meh-ish compared to the last, considering it was just a battle, but I suspect it foreshadows something interesting to happen in two weeks. Now if only the writer didn't take so many breaks... but then, if the author didn't have so many hiatus periods and breaks the manga would degenerate into Bleach/Naruto.

Allen doesn't look to happy though. I doubt he took Cross committing suicide and then mysteriously vanishing well. Now all that's left is to see what happens next :cm:.

But every chapter featuring Bakanda is a curse, so yeah...

I felt that there was really no flow to this chapter. Miranda was getting owned then Kanda shows up and defeats an Akuma then an Akuma shows up that Kanda does not kill. It wails on Miranda (get STRONG) and then Allen shows up from no where, Standing like he is the strongest person ever. Why could Kanda not kill both Akuma?

I think it does look a bit different, but that may only be the way Kamui and the Science Department recrafted it. Or maybe in a 10-day time frame Kanda has achieved a new level of leetness that apparently can't rape through all Akuma?

Indeed, a good story is a good story, but without some visual splendor then the manga will feel a little underwhelming. That's not to say that there isn't a ton of amazing visual candy, the author just tends to stick away from fanservice in lieu of more serious business (guess she wants to make sure our minds aren't focusing on anybody's panties while we get immersed in the story). We got our fanservice in the last couple of weeks with Cloud in a bath-towel, so I guess that'll have to hold us over for now.

Very true but the breaks are bad..I just got into the manga and all these people keep telling me about them, Im all for suspense but for a month or 2 hiatus im not down for. I dont have your patients and no way if im into a anime/manga and I have to wait a month wouldnt happen I would just give up on it.

Kanda Raped a Noah, why can't he rape an akuma?

Kanda didn't rape, he barely beat the Noah with a slither of his life hanging on for dear life.

If Kanda raped the noah, it would have been the same result as him fighting weaker akumas; coming out unscathed.

He has killed the only Noah in the series. all of the other Noah have survived, some have even become stronger *points at Tyiki*. Therefore it must have been rape. And everyone puts up a fight in a rape, it is just normal. Some hurt the rapist others don't, this just happened to be the kind of rape where he gets the shit beat out of him.

^I'm not entirely sure that Noah is dead for good.

If you remember Road was "killed" by Lavi at the end of that arc, but she's safe and fine. Mind you that could all be part of her ability, but I think the saying that Noah are immortal is more than just the fact that they're damn near impossible to defeat. Even the 14th has managed to live on through Allen. I have no proof of this, but I think we haven't seen the last of Skin.

For FMA, I'm not caught up with the manga yet (catching up with Vampire Knight at the moment).

For D.Gray-Man: I'm not sure what to expect, a lot could have happened within 10 days, and things are finally "slowing" down for the time. Either a new arc about looking for more innocence, or maybe some more shit falls down on the gang. This chapter is the start of something new/different though, that much I'm sure of.

I think that became apparent when Hitlers slave started following the team. But was that innoucence that important for them to send some of the strongest exorcist out to retrieve?

The story takes place 5 days previous. There's some sort of meeting discussing the suspicion of Allen being Cross's murderer.
コムイ、支部長達、ルベリエ（＋リンク）が座ってて、
Komui, the branch heads, Levier (+Link) are sitting.
アレンは真ん中に手枷？みたいなものに繋がれて立たされている。
Allen stands in the center, restrained by some handcuff-looking things.
アレンに近くにはリナリー、ジョニー、神田がいる。
Near Allen is Lenalee, Jhonny, and Kanda.
バク「だから、何度も言うようにアレン・ウォーカーが師匠であるクロス元帥を
殺害するわけあり ません！」
Bak: "Therefore, like I've said over and over, Allen Walker couldn't have murdered his master. Cross Marian-gensui!"

Komui: (Certainly, Allen-kun is highly suspected as the 14th, and he was in the same room as Cross-gensui.) He looks at Allen. Allen looks crippled.

Kanda: "Oi, I'm gradually getting tired of hearing this story." Everyone stirs. Pretty-looking Kanda. [Or else it means "cut-looking" Kanda...]
リナリー「ちょ、ちょっと神田！」ジョニー「言いすぎだよ！」
Lenalee: "H-Hold on, Kanda!" Jhonny: "You're saying too much!"
神田「コイツにもし異変が起きたら、俺が斬る。」アレンの首に六幻を突きつけ、

Kanda: "If an accident happens to this guy, I'll behead you." At Allen's neck, six phantoms stab,
seeing their migration, he speaks.
神田「文句ねぇだろ？」コムイ、リナリー、ジョニーがくすっと笑う。
Kanda: "Why don't you complain?" Komui, Lenalee, Jhonny, quietly laugh.
モブ支部長「ま、待ちたまえそれでは何の解決にも！」
Mobu division leader [I dunno who that is... maybe an abbreviation]: If we wait, then what would be settled!?"
ルベルエ「。ほう。しかし、君が本当に彼を殺せるものかな？」
Leverie: "Hou. However, are you really able to kill him?"
神田「簡単だ。」軽くアレンの首を切りつけ、血が少したれる。驚愕する支部長
達。
Kanda: "It's simple." he lightly cuts Allen's neck. A little blood drips out. This surprises the branch heads.
ルベリエ「言葉だけでは信用できないな。ここは１つ、試させてもら「ぎゃー！！」
Leverie: "Your words alone don't give me confidence. There is one thing here, we will try a test- Gya!!"
チャオジーが壁を破壊し て登場。
Chaoji enters by destroying a wall.
クロウリー「何をしているであるか！壁がえらいことになっているぞ！」
Krory: What are you doing! The wall is doing a great thing!"
チャオジー「すいません、まだこのイノセンス使いこなすの難しすぎて。」
静まり返る一同。
Chaoji: "Sorry, it's still hard for me to control this innocence."
Everyone falls silent.
チャオジー「え？あれ。なんか色々不味かったみたいですね。」
Chaoji: "Eh? Huh. There are some sorts of various distates around, it seems."
クロウリーがズーン。
Krory sighs.
神田「もう話は終わったろ？俺はこいつと続きをしてくるぜ。」アレンの襟を捕

Kanda: "Has the talking already ended? I'd like to continue with this guy."
He seizes Allen's collar and pulls it. Lenalee and Jhonny join.
ジョニー「知らないよーあんな事言って。」リナリー「もう少し言葉を選びなさ
いよ。」神田「う るせぇ。」
Jhonny: "I don't understand what you guys are saying..." Lenalee: "Choose
a bit more to say." Kanda: "Shut up."
アレン「神田。」神田「あ？」アレン「ありがとうございました。」
Allen: "Kanda." Kanda: "Ah?" Allen: "Thank you very much."
神田「何言ってんだ？俺は本気だぜ。」アレン「分かってますよ。」
Kanda: "What are you saying? I was serious." Allen: "I understand."

And if Allen Walker awakens as the 14th and threatens us, his existence
will be given for that case.
