Bad times on forums

Have you ever been to a forum where you had a really bad time? I did.

I went to a forum where these people hate Nintendo because they left Rare. (The company who made Donkey Kong Games.)

Being a Nintendo fan myself, I tried to talk with some of the Nintendo fans, but then I just get bashed for liking something they hate. I like some Mario games that they think are bad, and I get bashed. Now, I wouldn't mind it because it was their own opinions, but they started bashing me and calling me crazy. I tried to retaliate, but no luck. If you disagree with a mod, admin, or the majority, you get bashed.

It may seem like I'm bashing this forum, but I'm explaining what will happen if you go there.

The last time I was there, I even founded myself a nuisance in that forum. I can't argue with people knowing that anything I say will be declared null.

My last visit in that forum was somewhere in July and I returned there today and tried to apologize.

This is the only forum where I wasn't really myself, and I think I can learn from what I've done.

Yea..you get dickheads on the web that run totalitarian forums..Basically their word is rule and no matter what else happens they'll abuse you if you even suggest something new..

They're what i like to call big fat fucking wankers who have no life and like to make people who act well on forums have a big bloody hard time..All the while whilst shoving their own meat filled hands down their throats to regurgitate their last meal to chew on again since they've stayed in the one place so often they are becoming like a cow..

I haven't been to a forum like that. I've only been to two(at least that I've been active on. Here and one that was for my town) and both of those were fine. Although, I believe that being on a 'totalitarian' forum would be horrible.

I've been on forums where assholes, bitches and morons resides and I just refrain from visiting those kind of forums. Seriously, I hate it when people think highly of themselves and think they are soooo good they think they are so superior and tell people how to post, flame, and all that bullshit. I hate people like that, they need to STFU and grow up, build a bridge and get over it.

The only bad time i had with forums is basically what Thunderbolt said. I corrected one of the dude's answer and then suddenly another dude said it was wrong but turns out to be right.

had those kind of fools on a few forums and then guess what. i became a mod on one of them and they got banned by me for being basically dumbasses and being racist.

I was in a forum for quite sometime, before I joined this one..in that forum the administrator had a fight/quarrel with one of the members inside, I got banned just because I was an online friend of that guy lol..how unlucky I am :sad

hasn't really happened to me, because i generally scout the forums before joining/posting to see if the people are friendly, and is quite an active place.

I've been in some forums and there are always idiots who irritate you in each one
i just dont get one thing . . . . these irritating guys dont care about who you are or what kind of person you are they just look for a chance,for an "opening" to start saying crap about you and make fun of you....I believe that these people are just "smart-guys" who wanna show themselves as superior than others cause they have some really big issues with their self!!!!!!(thats all by me:D)

well, i was in a forum before i joined CB.. and now im barely active there (now, i just go there to advertise). one thing that turned me off there was when i was new, i posted in threads that i only preferred to post. and no, i wasnt spamming, i was posting worthy posts and then i received a PM telling me to lay off on the posting since the seniors dont like it when n00bs post too much!!! wtf!!! what kind of forum tells you to lay off just because the oldies dont like it !!!

Anyways, yeah I've been on some forums where the mods have this really elite-st (however you spell the word) attitude and its really anal the way they treat people. <_< Bleah, we're all members of the same forum. Just because they're mods doesn't mean they are superior to us. pffffft. Thankfully, cb's not like that. =D

OH! I've also been on forums where people spam blatently and its IRRITATING. The worst kind is when the post just consist of words like "1st!" or "YAY! I'm 2nd".

yes...i agree with you unwaken that some forum contain just too much of spamming in it and it's very irritating.once before i join cb,i was in there and i couldn't follow the flow as they spam all the time that eventually i was left behind in there as nobody really care about you in there and kept on to their own peers* or whatever it is that i don't know how to describe it.how sad that i ended up leaving the forum and didn't went back there anymore. :(

I don't mean to be mean or what but I thought the mods there weren't doing a good job at cutting down on the spamming. <_<

The worst thing was when I suggested that they get a spam section so that the members can actually discuss stuff in threads and leave the spammers to the spam section. They said that it was a dumb idea cos it'll encourage spam. <_<

I've never been on a forum where I've been treated badly (I don't really register on forums anyway :P).

Although I have seen heaps of forums where people spam as if there is no tomorrow. And they don't even get told off by it. But when others post something *decent* it's either pushed away by SPAMMAGE, ignored, or said to be 'off-topic'. I'm just glad that there are some forums where there is some sort of CONTROL.

However, I have seen forums where it is really strict. For instance, you can only post 10 posts a day. As well as that, you can't even post pictures without consulting whomever took that photo or whatever.

Luckily, this place isn't as strict, nor as careless. <3
