So, what's your view on this whole Genetically Altered Food thing? Also, what do you think about aspartame?

Did you know that Kraft uses genetically altered stuff in all their products? Did you know that aspartame is in nearly all chewing gum? Is there any avoiding it? Should they have warning labels? Discuss!

i like my food good and natural, thanks.

sucralose aka splenda is just as bad as apartame is.... i recommend staying away from that one as well.

Splenda is a VERY bad thing to use in your food. My older sister mentions how Splenda could cause a certain type of cancer if used too much. As for natural food or not, I really am not sure. When I eat something, I have no idea whether it's completely natural or not, so I do not know which I prefer. It is slightly sickening to think that Kraft uses odd things, but what other foods use unnatural products/ chemicals? I've heard something about that orange drink Sunny Denlight, but I do not remember the details.

Sounds like your sister's done her homework on splenda. She must know that they replaced 3 HC chains with Cl2 chains. Seeing as how chlorine is not only toxic, but carcinogenic, it's best not to ingest it. Sorry, don't know how to make that any less technical... maybe someone else can help put that info into laymans' terms.

So... If all this is happening and WE know it... Are we again surprised with the top ones...?

Eh realise this:
Cancer is not an arguement anymore. Almost ANYTHING can give you cancer.
It is even proven by science that sex can give you cancer.
Not all of these components should be avoided. Some have been proven to have rather nasty side-effects though. But things like aspartane are nearly harmless (no more dangerous than eating "natural" products) unless you are allergic to it. Like my mom.
Natural food usually isn't all that great either. If you retrace the origin of the component it is made of you would come to rather disturbing issues.
In that way of seeing things vegetarism is even absurd.

Happy retracing.

i'm sorry, I don't have the newspaper anymore that said so...
I would be happy to scan it in for ya if I still had it.

I was about half a year ago or so that it was in the newspapers here in Belgium.
We even had a discussion during religion class on the topic. All the things that can give a person cancer...
And what are the origins of components.
Very interesting, very disgusting. It takes away the good taste out of everything though... Eating sure was hell those days.

(I'm too cheap too pay for a daypass for online belgian newspapers..)

^ ^ ah... sorry. aspartame is a sugar substitute. it's in virtually all diet sodas, and now they're beginning to use splenda as well cause it appears to be more promising than aspartame.
