In the year 2000, a man called John Titor(this is a false name, real name hidden from public) claims that he is from 2036. Some of you may have heard of this, some may have not. In 2036, the government requeires to decode some computer language data, which the need a IBM 5100 series to read and decode the languag, so they sent his in a time machine which is installed on a car(think of Back to the Future, something similar like that).
This is the website for more detail,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Titor
http://www.johntitor.com/

These contain website which has more detail on his role to go back in time.
This is some things he claim he was doing and what will happen in the future.
He was actully supposed to go back to 1975 to collect a IBM 1500 computer which was the main reason he was sent back in time. He stopped off at 2000 for personal reason which I think he wasn't allowed to. He wrote a book on what is going to happen.
World War 3 will start somehwere around 2015.
A civil war will begin in America in 2004(which has not occured).
2004 was the last year of the Olymipics.

These are some other details made by him,
These are taken from John Titor's original statements and summarised.

* A Second American Civil War, gradually escalating from 2004 through 2008 and then continuing until 2015.
* An event similar to the "parting of the Red Sea" will occur in 2012.
* Third World War in 2015, a gradual global escalation that was ended by Russia bombing American, European and Chinese cities.
o Sometime before this point (referred to as "N-Day") China forcefully annexes Japan, Korea and Taiwan.
o Chemical and Biological weapons are used, and some "non-lethal" weapons turned out to be quite lethal.
o Australia successfully repels a Chinese invasion.
o The war kills over 3 billion people.
* Post-war
o Communities of survivors gather and grow around libraries and universities.
o The United States splits into five regions based on various factors and differing military objectives.
o The US Constitution is changed by a Constitutional Congress.
+ A President is elected for each of the five major areas of the US.
+ The powers of the union government are more defined and reside at the county and state level.
+ The Vice President is elected separately.
+ The US Capital is in Omaha, Nebraska.
* Life in 2036:
o Society
+ Military service plays a large part in day-to-day life.
+ Capital Punishment is still implemented.
+ Communities have returned to a family/community centred state, advised by elders.
+ Texas is Hispanized.
o Religion and Beliefs
+ Religion is far more personal and plays a major part in day-to-day life.
+ The Ten Commandments have been restored to the "10" that God gave Moses.
+ Sabbatarianism, or worship on Saturday is a common practice.
o Technology
+ Wireless internet is ubiquitous.
+ Television and Telephony are delivered via the Web.
+ Books and other hard media are now distributed online and printed from local hubs.
+ Microsoft and Yahoo! no longer exist. Napster still distributes music via the web.
+ Power is not distributed over long distances. Alternate forms of generation are common, the most prevalent being solar.
o Environment
+ The environment is heavily affected by radiation. The lack of potable water is the biggest environmental issue.
+ Global Warming has had little effect. Temperature is about the same although there were anomalies after the war.
o Health
+ The birth rate is much lower, due to a high number of birth defects and stillbirths.
+ Mad Cow, or vCJD in humans, is a devastating public health problem.
+ Cures for AIDS and Cancer have not been found. Viral therapy is used for Cancer.

EDIT:
Although I think that there is no longer any contacts with him, some believe that he has left and return back to 2036.

Section from Wikipedia
He appeared to imply that there were many worldlines, and his time machine could not control its outgoing destination exactly, but could return to a worldline exactly similar to his own home. (It would be a different "Worldline" but would be exactly the same in his perspective as when he left). His originating "worldline" would, in turn, receive a John Titor exactly similar to the original. Therefore, his original "worldline" would indeed receive the benefit of his mission.

In other words, he is from a different universe which is set in 2036 while our universe is set in 2000, he came here, to travel back to his original(close to original) universe, he requires to go backward, the way he came from.

Um... no way. Most of the stuff he says is groundless. China, invading Australia? On what grounds? A lower birthrate, despite the fact that countries like Philipines refuse to practice contraceptions? Anything that has to do with time traveling is all b.s.

Thats what I think, but if you read some of his theory, they are reasonabley true. One of the things he did was to bend the light using gravatational energy, he says that is how it works, though he is not the creator of it, he is suppose to know somethings of it.

Some other info is that he is born in America in 1998, so he met his 2 year old self incuding his parents. He also found new theory which was found true
e.g.
He knew about that if a certain thing is done to a particle accelerator, it can make the particles even smaller, something that wasn't known in 2000.
He also send information to a scientist to tell him a way to build a weather machine, he told him certain frequecy he should use blah blah and the scientist found that all his info was correct, WTF how the hell does he know these stuff before it happens.

This debate has been on the internet for years though I brought it up since I just found out about this rcently today

NOTE:Some info may have miscalculation or some error, but most are true, check the website for more details.

Well, some of the stuff anyone can predict. However, how can you meet yourself in the past while you are at the present? And what if you killed your ancestors? Well, one would argue that you would die immediately, but the thing is, if that's the case, you wouldn't exist in the first place.

I don't believe in time traveling, nor will I ever will.

If I am not mistaken he also said that the in the united states the Civil War would be full blown by the end of 2005, of which obviously has not at all happened. When I first heard about him I was really interested, but being that a lot of his predictions and claims needed the United States to be in a civil war in order for his story to be true, I assume that he is a simple hoax.

ROFL...

/me fallls of the chair...

Lucky napster...Poor limewire...

As for china invading Australia it isn't that far fetched..They could always use more land...And our prime minister hasn't really done that much to soothe interregion political tensions really...I mean we're closer to america then we are to Indonesia and their our neighbor..

It would be nice if this was true...But to get a completely wireless internet up in less then 25 years..I wouldn't mind that...And the fact that it mentions nothing about tasmania makes me secure.

John Titor could be for true..But i stress that it's unlikely and impractical in this day and age..However we don't really know everything about the world around us so who knows..It would be nice if it was real..

THE "10" THAT GOD GAVE MOSES FTW!!!

QUICK GO JOIN THE FORUM http://www.timetravelinstitute.com/ AND SAY YOUR JOHN'S SON COME BACK IN TIME TO TELL HIM TO STOP!!

thats just a guy with too much spare time, i could make some claims aswell and write a date behind it. i think if a time warp will ever be possible there
would be a row of conflicts and i really doubt we will ever travel in time. if we could why the hell didn't anyone go back in time to finish off all the mad-mans?

I dunno, it kinda seems probable but then again it does not. The bit about the civil war in america might have been true in the future that he came from but if he came here and told george bush about it then it could have prevented the civil war from occuring. About the WWIII, that probably will happen with george bush and tony blair in power and their 'War against terror' aka Iraq and Aghanistan.
In WWIII, it will probably be a white vs muslim (no offense to anyone) war and if what he says is right, if america win, then praying on saturday might be.
Cure for aids problem I don't think it is right, we are close to getting a cure for aids/hiv now.

if it was true he shall answer some simple questions like who is going to be the president after bush? will there be the first afro-american US president in history? all things he say is stuff that everyone else could say. WW3, civil wars, technology we heard that before. he has no proof.

ok if he was from the future it would be hard to make people believe you, but
where is the time traveling device? why didn't he bring something with him?

simple: it's all made up. nothing of it is true

buggre... I accidentally deleted my long fine post... *sigh*

Anyway, the main points were:

1. Why would he sprout stuff about future events, when he could have seen with a little observation of world politics, that he's not in the right "worldline"?

2. If timetarvel ever is possible, I certainly don't think humankind will be there in the few upcoming decades.

3. The way he talks about time going forward in come sort lines, it would sound more plausible for him to easily being able to go back in time following his own line, and getting back to the future he belongs would be the significantly harder part.

cba to write the whole thingy again :p

totally agree with deto..the guy will need more than just this much to prove he's from the future...the best thing he could put forward is his traveling device which he didn't so i doubt he's for real...and all his other claims could be said by anyone else..nothing new,so hard to believe..

Oh that dude, no wonder his name sounds familiar...i remember my bro telling me abt this guy and showing me a website dedicated to him with 'supposedly' his messages. I don't know whether or not to believe it. It could be just a stupid hoax some prankster made up but then again if he really does exist, it's something so unbelievable that it would make us all wonder abt the other things in life which might be true but we think it's made up. I hope I'm talking clear...for some reason I feel my sentences getting muddled up. Anyway, believing in John Titor is like believing in aliens with advanced technology. If you think aliens exist, then it's very likely you may believe John Titor exists too...

It's fascinating and so mysterious but it's also frustrating to not be sure whether things like these are true or not.

yet another one who thinks he is from the future. man i swear these people are getting annoying:mad: . if the earth dies later on(just guessing here) in 25 to 50 years so be it. changing what will happen later on won't prevent it as eventutally this planet will die off

There's a sci-fi movie named "K-Pax", which is well worth watching if you find this topic interesting. It's not really about a human coming from the future, but deals with pretty much the same subject as the "case John Titor" nevertheless.

It's about an alien (Kevin Spacey) coming from another galaxy to visit earth. He doesn't really cover the fact that he is an alien in any way (except that he looks like a human), and tells people things that no human can possibly know. Goes without saying that he finds himself in a psychiathric institute quite quickly...etc..

But anyways, I found the movie quite similar to this case. And it's a great watch anway. :p
