Wow, don't know what to do

my cousin just came upstairs to my room, and told me this guy that we kno tried to rape her, now she doesn't want me to say ne thing and make a big deal out of it, and shes just stressed out about school and everything else. I told her everything will get better, but i don't really know exactly what to say. is there any other advise i can give her?

This is a crime. it should be reported. No question IMO.
Better than for someone else to find out later and try to take the law into their own hands. I know if that happened to my cuz/relative/friend i'm 100% sure i'd kill the SOB who tried that.

Call the cops. Thats a no brainer. Your cousin is probably worried about what will happen if the guy finds out that she told on him. Thats naturall. I would be worried too. But I still think you should call the cops..

It's still possible to tell the cops about it, but not let everyone know, isn't it? Unless somebody spreads it around.... But it's not her fault. So she shouldn't really be ashamed.

i will, its just i never had someone so close to me who family, bc me and my cousin are best friends, and its her first yr in college and my second yr, and i look after her, and for this to happen, and with a guy we both know, its like i wish she would've told me sooner, but i am glad she did tell me. but im afraid when i see him i will kick his freakin ass, but i rather her call the cops than me do that.

Wow! What a sad thing. I can only imagine how your cousin must feel right now. IMO this guy needs to be taken care of by the biggest, meanest S.O.B. in prison. Its a tough decision but the right thing to do would be to talk to your cousin and let her know if she isn't going to protect herself that you will have to stand up and protect her by notifying someone who can take this to another level. He needs to be punished!
