Just wondering, what program do most people use to make a AMV? I'm sure theres several around just wondering what's everyones opinon of the best ones.

the three most prominent ones i use for AMV's are:

WMM: not bad to get started on but has issues with large files.

Premiere Elements 2.0 : very versitile editor more choices available than Pro.

Primiere pro: also a very good editor more user friendly than Elements.

but the other programs you need to get are mostly encoders to reduce size and create the file types you will want for others to use.

well I use 2 or 3 programs for my AMV's most of all though I use Nero Vision it's the one that gives me the least problems I also use WinDVD 3 Creator Platinum that one has the cool transitions aswell as alot of the other features you use in AMV's

I use WMM...but then again, can't say I'm experienced at this since I've only made one AMV that I'm really happy with so far. ^^;

I use WMM, its simple and it gets the job done, what else do I need? If I ever feel like I cant finish what I want, I'll get something better, but its not like I am an expert at making AMV's...

For me,using WMM is the easiest option. I dont particularly like the fact that it has limited features but what can you do. Im fascinated by iMovie on the Mac cept I dont have one and it takes a while for me to get used to the settings and options.

I use Premiere Pro 2.0

It works fine for me, it takes some fiddling around to get use to. Once you figure it out, it's amazing.

What most good AMV Makers use are, Sony Vegas 6.0 -7.0 and Adobe After Effects.

I use Vegas 7.0d because After Effects was a little too much money after getting Vegas

I use Sony Vegas 6 to edit and apply effects.

I use Winavi to convert the avi files to mpeg.

Because Vegas doesn't like XVID codecs. :(

Divx and Xvid are have alot in common you can change the 4cc of your desired .avi to divx so vegas can read them perfectly , but some fansubs and raws use wm3
so you'll need to convert that

to change your .avi's 4cc download 4 cc changer

http://www.divx-digest.com/software/avifourcc.html

download and open the file and change

Description code - xvid
FourCC code used - XVID

Description code - div3
FourCC code used - DIVX

open up vegas then try it

^ It should be already on your PC if your have XP Service Pack 2, it should be in your All programs list on your Start menu.

And I use WMM for AMV's cus I'm noob at them :)
