I think that you may be asking this:
You cannot die in soul society, neither in the court of pure souls. But if youre thinking about ichigo and co., they CAN. Because they are not spirits! :winking56

I think he's talking about ep 32 where Rukia and Renji's buddies are dead. They have graves. So if you die in soul society wht does happen?

They will chage a bit and be reborn on earth. I think i read that some were(think it was Zaraki who said it)
Well that sounds reasonable, thanks for your replies. I think stonetitan has it right I was simply wondering what would happen to aizen or anyone else who died there. If i remeber quickly when Rukia discussed teh Quincys she said there was a balance between souls going back and forth between soul society and earth so that definately sounds about right. Thanks : )

As they have said a few times, shinigamis CAN die. In fact, anyone in SS can die. (Although where you go when this happens, we do not know.) The shinigamis do not age and are 'immortal' except for the fact that they can be killed by other people (and themselves, I guess). By the way, Ichigo and the others ARE just souls while they are in Soul Society because only souls are allowed in. (Also note that Ichigo is also just a soul while he is out of his body as a shinigami. If he got killed in that state, he would go where ever the other people in Soul Society go (which may be nowhere...we really don't know yet)).

I have to agreed about that balance thing. I remember the hourglass diagram they showed. The Quincies where completely destroying the hollows, screwing with the balance, and the shinigami simply sent them to SS. So then the souls that die must go back to earth...However, that balanced was maintained by the soul slayers that the shinigami used. Since the Quincies used thier powers and destroyed the hollows. Then, does that mean that the poeple who are killed as spirits by means other than a soul slayer don't be reborn, or just the hollows. Oh and about that immortality thing, they are not. Rukia and Renji aged in SS in ep 32, so eventually they will die. And probably be reborn...This brings into play one other idea. Remember when Rukia's captain (don't know his name) said that Ichigo did resemble 'him'. Since Rukia was in SS for like 40 years, maybe Ichigo is the Incarnate of one of Rukia's old friends. Possibly that brother of Ganju...
One more thing...The others can't besouls because one they never switched out of their bodies, and two there is no soul chain. All non-shinigami have a soul chain. (Remember Ichigo when he was training with Sandal-Hat)

I agree with all of this.

This I don't agree. Corse Souls in SS dosn't have a Chain+ they have to be souls to enter SS.

True. But it is still possible that they had some kind of spell don to them, but it's unlikely. They left these details out, probably because it's not really necessary. But for them to exist without chains and be able to move easily they would have had to done some spirit training, and they aren't corse souls, so what happened to thier chain? When Orihime was shoved out of her body she had a chain. Why don't they have one now, if it was severed then they would be shinigami or hollows. They would still require something special...
P.S. What epsiode did they state only souls could enter SS? I remember hearing but I don't remember where from...

I still believe theres a diffrence in how the souls react in SS and on Earth.
Some were between episode 17 and 21, a guess would be 18.(think its the one were they enter the "portal")
I think there bodys transformed into spirits, when they entered the portal.
Wild guess: The chain is there as a sign to the Shinigamis to give it a soul burial. The chain could also be there corse free Spirits dosn't belong outside SS.(as i said guesses)

Those ideas are really good. They make sense without wasting time on episodes. Good call.
