Wow, alot of people who rep abused.
I dunno if this matter or anything (Probebly does), but when the rep first came out, we had a rep orgy and I was involved.

DragonBlade

I'm not done, this is the rep that occurred this month.

Alerane

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was abusing it. Was I giving it for stupid reasons or somethng? If I know what I did I'll stop.

Yeah, dont rep everyone that comment on your pieces

Alerane
01-13-2007, 05:55 PM
Oh, that, should I find another way like comments on a profile? I just felt happy people were actually reading my thread, since at first no one... T.T I won't anymore.

Edit:Btw, is there a rep rules thread somewhere? I loook for it before and didn't find it

DragonBlade
01-13-2007, 06:01 PM
You can use the advance profile or just post within your thread

'Scuse me, but how on earth did I manage to abuse rep?

I'm wondering that too =S

Giving people incentive to join the "Bleach Hangout"

a. that was exactly one person (nice of you to remember it almost 2-3 weeks after it was done) and b. nobody actually joined for the rep.

So, like, that's abusing? O.o

Sora
01-13-2007, 08:45 PM
I think that you should take in consideration just the most recent ones. It has no point in bringing to the light such old "abuses". Anyway, it is up to you =/

01-13-2007, 08:47 PM
i certainly dont doubt db about my rep abuse... but i am still confused... i was told that i repped someone cause they had asked for it... i dont remember this (again, i dont doubt db...) i just wanted to know on what post i had left that rep so i could remember exactly why i had done it...

edit: i dont care about having my rep restored... i just wanna know where i faltered

DragonBlade
01-13-2007, 08:52 PM
I doubt I can restore the deleted reps.

Undying:
You gave more than 10+ ppl rep and your reasons were "Here is the promised rep for joining"

Sora
01-13-2007, 08:57 PM
=S Perhaps you've been too strict. Just pming the "rep abuser" and telling him/her to stop should have been enough...

Well, if it can't be undone, then there is no reason to complain anymore.

But I can't understand that:

1st Offense - A Warning @ 50% That lasts 2 weeks.

DragonBlade
01-13-2007, 09:02 PM
Your warning % will expire after 2 weeks. I posted this thread last year, that should be sufficient enough in warning instead of pming each one.

oh well. So pretty much if you rep someone without explaining your reason, it is considered rep abuse. I'll keep that in mind. :)

Sora

dude, i havent even repped anyone this month let alone even come online often
Edit: not to mention what shadow said about the "old abuse"
souldnt be brought up now,
its old news, and should have been dealt then not now
because thats a little lame dealing with it now, even if you were busy, that was like 2-3 months ago when that all happened (possibly even longer)

Dang and none of these people gave me rep? Hey DB why cant you just undue their points?instead of warnin them and stuff?

♥ Tess
01-17-2007, 04:08 AM
^probably to make sure ppl don't do it again.

it's pretty tedious to keep undo-ing reps over & over (especially if its the same members)
so i guess warnings are effective in this case -.-

When someone does you a favor, or says something that you think is really, really good or cool. When someone gives you a gifts, as well. The most important part is stating a good reason for giving rep in the "reason for rep" thingie.

Are we allowed to rep people who created a thread and showing off their creative talents?

maximoose666
01-22-2007, 12:02 PM
You probably can if the person has posted an exceptional piece of work. A long and well-written fanfic; a great piece of original art, or perhaps if a newbie has just managed to push their skill to a new level: these are cases where you may be able to rep someone for thier creative achievements.

I searched FAQ and could not find this question. If it does exist and I was retated and could not find it, I apologize!!

Do you recieve notification if someone gives you negative rep or it is taken away as in these cases here?

mateff

Dexter
04-07-2007, 02:06 AM
You should be able to see in your "User CP" whether you received positive or negative rep.

The neg rep is not a green bar, (or a grey bar?) followed by a generally nasty comment i'm assuming :)

~*StÓÑy RèL0ÂÐeD™
04-07-2007, 02:32 AM
mmm.. i always thought it was a red bar, but maybe it might be gray.

red bar is only used when yur rep points goes negative maybe??

Dexter
04-07-2007, 04:10 AM
yeah, i said it's NOT. grey bar is when nothing happens (like a person with 0 rep, reps you)

Pie <3
04-07-2007, 11:01 PM
If you have a grey bar , then your rep is disabled.

Lust
04-08-2007, 12:34 AM
red bar indicate ppl give you bad repping(give negative point but its for temporary)

M-50
05-20-2007, 06:00 PM
so what if someone gives u -ve rep after your green bars under rep power, will you have one red bar?

♥ Tess
05-20-2007, 06:02 PM
only if you have 0 rep

Example:
If you have 500 reputation points,
and someone with a rep power of 12 gives you negative rep,
you will have 494 points left. (it uses half of their rep power)

To have a red bar, you need under 0 points. (i.e: -12)

M-50
05-20-2007, 06:13 PM
aw wicked that explains it thanks shin.

M I Z U
05-20-2007, 11:22 PM
only if you have 0 rep

Example:
If you have 500 reputation points,
and someone with a rep power of 12 gives you negative rep,
you will have 488 points left. (that doesn't put you in the red)

To have a red bar, you need under 0 points. (i.e: -12)

http://img267.echo.cx/img267/6374/repimage2tt.jpg

I think the Neg reps should stay permanent.

Then reduce the rep power by half when someone Neg reps.

Example:

Johnny has 40 rep power.

Steve has 100 rep points.

Johnny neg reps Steve.

Steve now has 80 rep points, not 60 because when a neg rep is in action, only half of the rep power will account.

♥ Tess
05-20-2007, 11:33 PM
Actually, it may be like that.
(using half of your rep power)

if it is... apologize for the error

_
Anyway, i believe most members don't have the option to give negative rep anymore

Sora
05-21-2007, 07:34 AM
We can't?!? =/ I think that it's still possible.
When you +rep someone, you can choose between (I approve/I disapprove). If you select (I disapprove) then, you give bad rep :)

Fearful Shino
05-21-2007, 11:47 AM
nope it's gone.

:< seriously, it's gone. Yeah, i still remember that, but i suppose the mods were feeling nice and didn't want people to receive neg rep due to different views, brought on by different cultures and world views.

Dexter
05-21-2007, 11:58 AM
Erm.. no. Sorry Kia, I still got the option to neg rep whoever I want..

Perhaps it's that mythical 'Espada advantage' ..? Tho Koushun said he has it so prob not.

M-50
05-21-2007, 01:51 PM
would the neg rep be the 'report bad post'option by any chance or am i just retarded?

Dexter
05-21-2007, 02:11 PM
No, that's different.

When you go to rep someone, if you choose "I disapprove" - that's neg rep

M-50
05-21-2007, 02:14 PM
oh, yeah i can do that as well.

♥ Tess
05-21-2007, 02:22 PM
Admins, Mods, Captains & certain groups (like the Shinigami Staff, GFX Crew) can still give negative rep.

For the rest, it has been disabled.

This is what I meant when I said most members can't use it >.>
