Put em in here. Major props go to Apocalypse from X-men. He's the worst one I can think of. I still don't know if anyone was able to kill him.
Aizen's a given.
Naraku from Inuyasha is also kinda cool.
What about yours?
Any villians you think are simply way too powerful to beat and it didn't really make sense when the main character beat them anyway?

- Younger Toguro brother from Yu Yu Hakusho. Just badass.
- Omega Shenron from DBGT. He was kinda lame, but if it takes 2 SSJ4's fused together to beat him, then..wtf?
- Tasogare Sessou from CB is just so pwnage. Like serious. It's rediculous how powerful this guy is..
- Bankotsu from InuYasha was just too cool to go out the way he did..
Killed by the energy from his own sword? Wtf?
Is this just for anime? Cuz I got a few for videogames..
- Seymour Guado from Final Fantasy X
- Sin from Final Fantasy X - A giant frickin dragon created from the souls of the dead.. How do you kill such a thing? O_o
Can't think of any more..

Anime? Well... Dark Schneider is definitely up there :p
Dark Schneider (Bastard): (Tri Sapphire)
-Has 200+ instantly regenerating shields that can each more than hold out against an atomic blast each and even if the attack is greater, one shield will absorb the entire shock no matter how powerful.
-Can instantly regenerate as long as his eternal atom is attacked so the only way to beat him would be to destroy all 200 some odd shields and attack him with enough staying power to blast every atom into nothingness, however....
-Can move at speeds much faster than light
-Can will himself back from nothingness as he is the Dark Adam and ONLY another Adam can kill him permanently
-Weakest attack can split the world in half, stronger ones can destroy a galaxy.
-Holds the 7 pieces of the Judas Pain in him which is essentially reality itself. He can't be willed out of existence, sent to another dimension and imprisoned, or go back in time to kill him. It also eats at his soul, but he waves off most the effects except memory loss, meaning no psychic power in the universe can mind control or mind rape him.
-Has Spellbound, a shield that changes with his desires. He can make it so there is no air at all in an area he chooses or can prevent physical or energy attacks. He can also place specific limitations.
-Has slept with ever woman in the series and can seduce any woman.
-Has the highest level spells of every magic type but white.
-Even before obtaining the Judas Pain, or unlocking his half demon powers gained from his physical body, which is the reincarnation of Lucifer himself, DS: Broke out of Hell, melting the lake of Cocytus (a lake eternally frozen, one could say it was of cosmic origins) with a basic level fire spell, and destroying one of Hell's continents on the way out.
-Another note on the shield is that they can all take an atomic level blast constantly focused on one point of the shield for over an hour before breaking. They can also be broken by gathering the raw mystic powers of the universe (the basis of magic. it's a force which permeates everything, and could be thought of as the forces of creation/destruction) into physical attacks.
-DS (and most of the high level archangels and demons) can gather the raw mystic power in the universe into physical attacks, making them more than just physical, and into a pure destructive force which can't be nullified by any barrier (including DS's own).
-DS also sealed a powerful Demon who held a piece if the Judas Pain in a dimension that was worse than Hell. It was nigh inescapable and is a constant drain on the willpower and energy of its inhabitants, and DS simply kept the demon in there for eons in order to weaken him enough to take the Judas Pain away from him.
-DS annihilated a powerful archangel while missing everything from his shoulders down, besides his left arm.

I'dd say, compare the power of their attacks and their survivabillity :p
For instance, both SSJ and anyone of Cherubim level any above can destroy galaxies. If we take raw power, then Bastard = DBZ/GT however Bastard shines at survivibillity and interesting techs :p
For instance,DS could imprison Goku in an alternate dimension for centuries to weaken him. Also DS also boasts the facts that the only one who can kill him and stop him from reviving is a light Adam (basicly a savior send by God. Think Jesus Christ).
I think that's why Bastard has an edge over DBZ :p

See, the problem with listing Dark Schnieder in this thread is that, and I can say this, since I've seen the show, he's not the villian in it. He's the anti-hero. The hero who is the opposite of everything you'd expect in a hero.
I say the greatest actual villian in anime would have to be Naraku, from InuYasha. He's got THE most powerful barrier I've ever seen, and his Shouki (miasma) can dissolve litterally ANYTHING in a matter of seconds. Minutes, if it's exceptionally dense, like stone. His barrier can stop almost anything sent at him, and he can regenerate from wounds that would be instantly fatal for anyone else!

If Naraku even ever "dies" he just respawns somewhere with one of the seeming million other incarnations that he's hidden various organs in. He's "died" so many times I've lost count. @Malice: It's the "/ you" command. By typing "/ you" (without the space), it'll show the name of the person viewing your post.
Ex: /you is a loser...
^For you, it'll say "Malice is a loser...", but for Undying, it would say "Undying is a loser..."
A way to know if your name is being used with "/ you", is that it's always in green text, and in italics.
And back on topic:
Naraku has so many incarnations, ..because...well, they didn't want the show to end?

Well, let's see...are we going for coolest badguy? Evilest badguy? Strongest badguy? I'll just list my favorite badguys, that should suffice.
5.Sephiroth of course. Over-rated? Yeah. Awesome? HELL YEAH.
Sephiroth: "What do you hold most dear...so that I may take it from you."
4.The Operative from Serinity. He was in every possible way better than Mal, and had a noble cause as well. Just a bit extreme...
Operative, after killing a whole town (some of these lines are edited due to terrible memory on my behalf):"All you had to do is listen Mal. You could have prevented this."
Mal: This was between you and me! You don't kill children, I NEVER killed children!"
Operative: "I do. If it needs to be done to secure a utopia for future generations. A place without violence, without pain."
Mal: "All this so you can have your paradise..."
Operative: "Oh no. You and I are murderers, Mal. We don't deserve to live in paradise. I am a monster, and I deserve to die."
3.Doctor Doom. Best comic villian ever. Until I read this...
Doctor Doom: "My! I must admit, your intelligence is profound!"
Black Panther: "Finish the sentence."
Doctor Doom: "...for a black man."
2.The Joker. Dude shot Batgirl, crippling her. Then he took pictures of himself molesting her and mailed them to her dad. Also, he beat Robin with a crowbar, tied him and his mom to a bomb in an abandoned warehouse, and blew them both to smithereens. I'm almost positive that noone else on this list is that evil.
Joker: "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
1.Deathstroke the Terminator. He's Batman times 10. He beats the crap out of several different versions of the Teen Titans and JLA. He beat Superman, Batman, and Wonderwoman all at the same time. And all because his brain uses 90% of it's true capacity for strategizing. The normal human brain only acts at about 10% capacity.
Deathstroke (to Batman after beating him with one punch) "The difference between you and I? You train to win. I train to kill."
Just now I finally realized that it's a most powerful villian contest, so to stick with what I'm supposed to be posting, here's my most powerful list:
Sephiroth, Aizen, Omega Shenlong, Amazo, Doomsday. In no particular order, although Amazo and Doomsday are the most powerful of them all.

Megatron of course he just never stops trying to destroy optimus prime.
You Frogot Galvatron and Unicron. They are cool too. But I'm pissed off that Megatron has been changed so much from the original series.

It is tragic what they've done to the serie's as a whole.
I mean in the transformer's movie of the 80's, optimus die's trying to kill megatron, megatron is practically dead and is revived by unicron as galvatron and unicron, himself is shown destroying at least 2 planet's, and starting on the third(cybertron) before he get's destroyed.
Now, unicron is an embodyment of all the hate in the universe, galvatron sacrifice's himself to save the rest of the universe and worst of all, optimus' gun has changed to a BFG-like weapon to arm mounted machine gun's?
Megatron from the olden day's was probably a better villain then most bad guy's these day's. I would still bet on him to win a fight.

Id say the one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful is Sargeras (hey there's warcraft manga :P). A Dark Titan, able to create (not 100% sure) and destroy worlds, even though he uses his army since he can't personally enter most worlds. Also he can't travel in space I think, since if he could he would just destroy everything. He has to use the twisting nether to travel. He's defeated massive demon armies with ease and his two generals (who he defeated with ease) are powerful enough to destroy most anime characters. Also I think he had to most powerful weapon in the warcraft universe. Also being a titan, he has magical powers and amazing endurance.
Also he's millions or billions of years old, so he has ALOT of experience.

Yeah, i'm pretty sure even illidan would be about bleach-level, and he's the subordinate of one of sargeras' subordinates, but sargeras is basically a god, so i'm not sure he counts. Anyway, i feel like i'd be remiss if i didn't mention two of my most favorite video game villains, albedo from xenosaga and xemnas from KHII. They probably couldn't compare to crazy dudes like dark schneider and goku, but they're still badass and no slouches as far as power. I mean, any villain who rips off his own head and crushes it simply for shock value is one crazy mother.

God Hand and the Idea of Evil from Berserk, they control the entire world and destiny of man-kind basically, can't really get too much more powerful than that.
Other than that I would say Aizen from Bleach and Arthas and the Lich King in the Warcraft series and the fact that Arthas kicked Illidans ass even before he combined with the Lich King.

Hmm... If its just anime villains...
Amon apocalypce of Devilman.
Though more from the manga then the anime, where his weak in comparison.
This is a deamon lord whom consumes everything biological into power on his own, on atleast 3 continents(Asia,Europe & Australia)
Sadly i have never gotte to read the rest of the story...
Came to the point where Satan appeared and told him to calm down, the world would be ready for the deamons already...
Amon won't lisen to his former boss, and conteniue to make the world his own(aka not for other deamons or Satan but his)
And all of this destruction corse the hero broke down mentally.(which is understandable when you see what happend)
(His fammily gets killed, house gets burned and some villagers runs around with his Girlfriends head on a pole...
THese are the people he have done all he could to protect several years... Mental Breakdown... Deamon takes controle... Everything must suffer.

It's "immortal", and he is far from it. Seriously. He's so lame and overrated. The guy got raped by a 15 yr old goofy looking kid..using a giant frickin KEY for f*cks sake!
@Raven: If you were to take DBZ/GT's power levels, and compare them to Bastards, then DBZ/GT would win by a landslide. However, the scales are different. In DBZ, when Raditz scanned the farmer, he had a power level of 5. According to Bastard, an average human has a power level of 1.
So, ...anyone want to figure out how to compare the two? >.>
Your right about the DBZ chars beating up Sephiroth but Sephiroth really is "Immortal" Hes 90% J-Cells (Jenova Cells) When ever Sephiroth "dies" his body transforms into billions of them evutanlly they regroup and reform sephiroth. also KH2 Sephiroth is allot weaker than FF7 Version. He can only do Firaga and a orbs of darkness attack + he was toying with Sora because all he wanted was the keyblade.

I hate you.
*sighs* Sephiroth would be distintegrated if he went up against a DBZ character. The same thing that happened to Cell, Buu, and whoever else who could regenerate.
That just goes to show you how weak FF7 characters truly are.
And about KH2 Sephiroth being weaker than FF7 Sephiroth. That's not entirely true. And who cares if he was toying with Sora? He still lost. He fights seriously at the end of the battle, obviously.

i think cell was the most evil villan.. nothing like a cold android...
but on non anime discussion... smith is the worst of the worst... he would assimilate all and then .... GAME OVER.....
Who the hell is this dude?! WTF!!!!!!! I've got to read this anime!
I guess the manga he talking about is the guy from Bastard, not sure but anything regarding Adam and DS i think i am correct.
Anyway, Idea of Evil from Berserk will own all, he is THE GOD afterall. lolx
Villian wise? Griffith from the same story will be able to merge as the ultimate villians winner as well. he is just untouchable (able to control and manipulate fate)

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Kefka yet. He was definatly one of the most evil characters in the entire FF saga. I mean really, how many other villans in FF have actually succeeded in their goals?
Also Greed, the manga version though. He's so much cooler (and more evil in the manga).
Ulquiorra is my favorite bleach character, but from Bleach I'd have to go with Aizen.
Bankotsu, he's definatly on my list. And I agree that his death was definatly not suited for him.
And to top my list off, Melbu Frahma from Legend of Dragoon. Just the way he went about trying to achieve his goals were devious enough to earn him a spot on my list.

* I know I'm reviving a dead topic but.. *
I have to add the Anti-Spirals from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. While not neccesarily evil, in their own way they were pretty much alot more threatening than the stereotypical 'evil' guys you peeps have listed above.

Haha I agree,Aizen Is the most powerfull he is yet stll undefeated and can destroy captians without lifting a finger.

Ok Now good opionon but It depends how you look at it,Kira can be a villian or a her to me Kira(Light) is a hero and lives his life trying to be a hero so i would have to disagree with this.

Most definately, since Kira can kill anyone with a name and a face, but if he were to go up against someone who ISNT human, so to speak, like I dunno, Goku, Sephiroth, typical anime characters, could kill him if they ever found out who he is, but he also has the weapon of intelligence, so I doubt if you-know-who couldn't catch him, I doubt one of the beef-headed anime shounen superstars of today can even touch him.
As for the Anti-Spirals, they are pretty much God-like beings.

As for the strongest villain..Hmm..Any Villain from DBZ. Who needs to fight when you destroy a planet with a flick of your eyebrow.

Seriously, it got so insane that all villains had to be able to regenerate after a certain point; Cell, Buu, etc.
About that Kira debate before, he is a villain, of the highest caliber. The man's so twisted it makes me smile. >: )
Don't believe me? Then you obviously haven't been watching/reading the same series as me...
Don't believe me? Then you obviously haven't been watching/reading the same series as me...
Well, this can be debated, because you can be a complete douchebag and still be a good person, and, whether or not what he's doing is good, is left to interpretation.

Debated? Not quite. The way he uses people, and kills them off. He torments and deceives, and the first thing that crosses his mind is killing.
Forget that he wants to kill millions of people - be they criminals (which isn't bad, imo), policemen, or anyone who happens to dislike him - its the way he does things that can be considered as villainous.
Seriously.
He made his ex-girlfriend kill herself after off'ing one of his enemies. Not to mention all the other innocent people he's killed...
All she wanted to do was help him, she idolized him, and he used and killed her. He's no better than Aizen in that regard. However, unlike Aizen, Kira is actually cool. <.<
So yeah. You can argue that he's just eliminating his enemies before they can eliminate him - and even say his methods are necessary given the intelligence of his adversaries... but he enjoys doing it a bit too much.
The first thing that crosses his mind when he meets someone is, "Okay, how can I use this person to my advantage, and after they've completed their tasks.. what's the best way to get rid of them?"

You can say he killed innocent people, but innocent is defined as "free from guilt or sin especially through lack of knowledge of evil," whereas all the people he had killed had somehow undergone sinful acts, such as Takada ordering the deaths of hundreds, Wedy serving as a professional thief, Aiber conning people out of millions, the Yotsuba group for promoting mass murder, hell, even L underwent an evil deed when he used Lind L. Taylor as a guinea pig to lure out Kira. As for others, like Matt and Mello, he wasnt directly linked to their deaths, Takada killed Mello to protect herself (and Mello was a criminal, too, dont forget it) and Matt was killed by the hand of random Kira worshippers, not him himself.
For him, everyone is just a chess piece on his match with Near (yes, I consider Near to be Light's true counter, L was more of a set up for Near's inclusion). There are disposable pieces that he wont need, pawns, per say, that may have been a rook to him earlier, but now their only goal is to protect the king with their lives, such as Takada and Misa, and pieces that carry significantly more weight, like Mikami, which he uses for the attack, and to be honest, the fact that he gets all wild and it brings a smile to his face when he pulls a move that pulls the playing field to his favor cant be blamed on being evil, since its easy to sympathize with, because, seriously, if you make an awesome move in a game of chess or in a sports game or something that nobody sees comming and pulls you closer to the win, wont that make you happy?
And also, evil means "Morally bad or wrong; wicked," which is completely debateable in the case of Death Note, and a villain is "A wicked or evil person; a scoundrel," so thats up to interpretation too. :p
