Just watched the episode, theres two scenes that really make no sense whatsoever, even for a filler episode:
1) Sakura and Lee running from five or so 7yr-old kids with spears
2) Naruto using sweat to loosen the strings
Oh well, anyone know how many episodes left for this arc?

Well the big shock of this episode wasn't really a shock

as soon as i saw that kid i knew he was Todoroki's brother and was saved by Gantetsu, it was all a bit obvious.

And how can a ninja make wires appear out of no-where, i thought ninjutsu was based on the 5 elements... this episode just makes no sense.

And the animation was pretty piss poor, i'd give its a 5/10...

Isnt steel a natural resource? eh its too early for me dun feel like thinking. >_< what its just a filler. theres about 10+ episodes left.. cant quite say but we just gotta wait till spring :(

I saw a poster that said the next arc began in spring 2007. Though I think that's too long to push the fillers.

steel is part of the earth element. and guys check out the thread about fillers ending. according to some sources they will end in january

if in really of course impossible, u cant cut the string of steel by biting it...but heck its anime...i dont really care how they do it, as long as the story line is good im fine with it...but naruto fillers so far nothing is really good...but i still like naruto though...its my third anime i watch before bleach..
