We, the Design Industry member's, would do our best to help our members.
There for we will be using a gmail account with all kind of recourses like brushes, actions, plugins, psd files, C4Ds, sprites, and ways to get interesting ?free? software.

Not only that, there will be Design Industry contests too, every month!
We do this to make your skills better and of course you can win a prize if you win.



The Rules:

• In this thread we will help each other to improve, we don't spam here. Of course you can chat with each other about designing.
• If you post a signature, don?t post the url, post the image.
• No flaming, insulting or being rude. Any of those actions will have a
warn as a consequence. A second warn means to be kicked from the team.
• All the warnings will be done via personal message, so no-one will
notice about anything till you are out.
• All the members have the right and the obligation to take part in all
the contests. Of course, if there is a proper justification of the
absence/inactivity there?s nothing to worry about.

Hmm, can't really see anything to be changed here, the text is done quite well. Though I think the light is a bit too much over the stock's face, in my opinion.

The colour... Sena could be a little more colored, I think he's too pale in that siggy. The source of light is okay, and the background is incredible. The text is really good too, and that light spots are really cool ^^ Try to improve the colour ^^

@Tym: I do like the last one. The gal looks better. The background is okay, but there are a couple of lines which does not fit much the sig. The text should also be improved, does not looks good T-T However, the colour and the source of light are okay. Nice sig :)

@Tele, A shop... Well, no. If there would be a DI-shop, all the members have to get money etc. it would be too complicated.

There will be a gmail account with resources, free to download (you don't have to give points for it). Just be a DI-member and you'll get the password.

You'll find there all kinds of stuff:
keygens (to get software), c4ds, very nice tutorials ^^, fonts, renders, plugins, actions etc.



@XxTymmie, I like your 3rd one more ^^.
Though... Maybe some more effects would be nice. I don't like the size of the sig, try 320x90/320x92 etc. :P.

BG is nice, but the render is bad... What did you do with it, blur? Don't use blur :P.
Give it a good quality with the topaz filter (you can find it in our gmail account)

When you're downloading it, they ask where to put the topaz filter. Place it in the Adobe Photoshop CS 2 map/depends which photoshop you have-> filters (use the search button if you don't know where in your computer).

If you have an image with a bad quality, you can use the topaz
(you can use it for many effects btw).

woah 1st one bg is uhhm... i dont know what it is it just doesnt flow right.. ive noticed what you are missing alot in your sigs is depth... im exactly good at explaining the concept of depth im sure seto can though... when doing the border.. make sure its over the render... unless its a pop-out... the quality on the second sigs render is awful you might wanna try some effects on the render to clear it up maybe using that topaz plug-in

I see alot of jaggedness, especially those circles around the text. I wonder if that is a font? cause its really bad xD. The stuff behind the stock (C4D?) is probably the only thing that is making this sig feel less flat. Colors is nice, the lighting is awkward though.

Let's see, First and second one look great, truly awesome (specially the first one). The third one has too much yellow (perhaps a bit too much of colour balance. The fourth one also looks great. Perhaps the line between dark and shadow in the right side is too obvious... What about a little of gaussian blur? :)

-Inner border looks uneven on the left for some reason.
-totally flat, needs depth! Use lighting to create depth on this one.
-I would just use a plain font or something that is easier on the eyes, and not that choppy.

I think the lighting is a bit weak here. Nifty style too. So many dots xD. Depth is okay but a better lighting would make it stronger \o/. Try color dodge (highlights) or Filter-->Render-->Lighting effects ^^

:eek: Wow, this is your signature? Woah... dunno what to say. In my opinion is too big, try with a size like 400x120 350x100 or something like that. The render is okay and it fits pretty well with the background. The background is... (I'm not the best to say that but)... lacking of depth XD lol. The colours are okay, and I like how you mix them. You should also add a source of light which comes from the bottom to the character face. You should also add a border (makes your siggys look better when you made your first siggies (also for me :P) ). And... what about a nice text?

This is, without doubt, the best siggy of yours (in my opinion) (and made by you)

Again the smudging is to obvious but it's a better flow. :] The text, like Seto said, is not too good and you need to define a light-source to create negative space and depth. >_>

Hmmm... Let me suggest u some things ^^

The size is too big. You should use 400x120 or 350x100 that are normal sizes for siggies. That size u used is for a banner :P

The colours are overcontrasted... And those colours hurt... and also don't go well one with the other

I can't feel depth neither.

I do like that flash of ligh u used. It has a good colour and it is not lightning too much. This point is perfect ;)

The character is also difficult to be seen coz of the colours.

I think that I know what do you want to do. I really like your idea, but try not to do exclude in blending. Try to work with the original colours. That will help you at first to improve. The first thing you must learn is to use a character and put a background according to this character style.

Hmmmm... Let's see:

The size's okay and also the strokes. The render is pretty good (L, right?) and it melts with the background.
The only thing is that is too dark... I know that L is a mysterious character and all that, but a brighter background and a little more contrast of L would improve it.
Try to use curves to enhance the colour and contrast.

Unique: no need to vector but it definitely improves the outlining. Check out deviantart photoshop tutorials. They have LOADS of coloring tuts ^^

The Tom Welling sig is nice, but his hair is a bit over-sharpened in my opinion. Also the text looks scrunched up a bit, and the black box is a bit odd as well. >_>

The last one's stock color doesn't go all too well with the vector colors, maybe do a hue/saturation on him?

@DW, work on the text... Or just delete it. The colour from the text doesn't fit with the bg.
Give the render a better quality (use the topaz filter? you can download it in our gmail account).
Lighting is a bit too strong. Use the soft brush (around 100 pixels) for that.

Give it a bit more colours and add depth (you can add depth with smugding and c4ds).

Brush with multiple layers, change their opacity, erase some parts to have some depth. You can have multicolors this way too.

I know it looks hard (filters) but it really isn't. As soon as I have time, I'll make the advice list and I'm going to tell in that list which brushes you can use (spatter for example) to give it the final touch.

The upper part of the sig is perhaps a little too dark and the lines are too sharpened... try to smooth it a little. The focus of light is also okay, but I would place it a little more up and to the left ;)

@sm i like it a lot its just as kaze(or whatever we call him now) :P theres those lines, I don't like the part where it goes over her face and then the very next one the part that goes over her outfit.

It's kinda good ^^ The render u used is nice but perhaps does not fit with the background colour. The effects are okay and the Resident evil font is also good. You should change the colour of the text though. Adding a border perhaps would improve it ;)

Analog: That looks unfinished to me

Kaze: Color dodge makes the colors brighter and stronger (highlights), its more natural lighting then just using soft brush.

Well, kind of hard to tell what is your light source. Since All I see is a bright ass white thing lol.. it needs to have a "light effect" it need to shine something, like your current almost.

Hmmm... It is not bad... I like how u desaturated the pic and added some colour. The flash of light is in its correct position, but u should add more depth using shadows. The spatter effect looks good too. Be careful with the spattered part in the neck of the gal, looks weird =S
