does anyone know what it is?
I think it's a CD emulation program, used to run various games just by mounting the CD image file into it
so does anyone know it?
if yes, How the heck do you run the games :p
do you have to actually own the copy of the game?

daemon is an emulation software that acts as a virtual drive, fooling the computer that you actually have more drives installed.

you can run 'images' of a CD/DVD with it, usually ends in extension .nrg, .iso, .bin, etc. they are sometimes referred to as ROMs. Just 'mount' them to daemon and if they have autoplay they will automatically start. you can add drives to daemon (a max of 4 virtual drives). once you mount the roms, you can treat them normally like how you do with your CD/DVD. the new drives appear in My Computer.

okay, thanks for the info, but they did not start automatically :(
is there any way to start them manually?
oh and, my friend said the Image files are suppose to be around 1 Giga
but the one I downloaded for Warcraft is only 100 Kb, is that even right?
and yeah, I tried 2 games and they did not start ><
any link to the Image files? just PM me for the links, don't put it here, in case they are illegal
and thanks :D

well, first off you need a working image file, and to obtain one you'll need to rip the cd/dvd to an image file. The only downside to this, is it takes up a lot of harddrive space. (btw, the 100kb file is definatly wrong :P)

And in terms of it auto starting, if you have properly mounted the image to a virtual drive then you can access it thru "My Computer", it will show up under there as another drive letter

If we're talking about mounting virtual drives, I also recommend Alcohol 120% that works great, more convenient and you offers more functions.

If you downloaded the ISO/BIN/MDF, etc file from the internet and you want to run the game, its most likely you'll need a NO CD patch/crack to run it off directly, since most image files are just ripped directly without the CD data that operates the game.

100kb can't be right. usually they are close to hundreds of MB for CD games. DVDRoms are over 1 gb... you can manual start them in My Computer, just double click the drive.

a good source for them is probably emule, winmx etc.

That's because you probably dl'ed a .cue file, right?.. Check the extensions that was mentioned earlier and look for them next time.. Either way 100kb is way too small..

It depends.

If you found a mini-image (which exists, it's essentially a still-readable, super-compressed disk image), it'll be rather small. However, for the most part, images are fairly large.

If you have the correct image mounted, it should not AUTO-RUN, but you should be able to execute it.

nope, it was .mdf file
I think it's the crack, I got the real game already, but I thought, cool I should try out this program, but It did not work
and yes there is another Drive that came up, default name is Drive :I: isn't it?
but when I clicked it, it says something is corrupted

and, bleh, I got this San Andreas DVD, and well it doesn't work, yeah it's pirated, but I have placed the crack properly, and did not work xD ><
idk if it's because of the specs, anyways, I was wondering if This tool could make it work
so I want to try it, but I got a major problem.....

there's probably thousand of files in the folder, now, which one should I mount xD
can't be all of them I hope xD xD coz there's probably 3 giga there xD xD

ok, well thanks for the link, but how about my San andreas problem, there's a lot of Files in the folder, which to mount :(?
for mroe details, go to the reply above Kenta's
Can't really be bothered writting it all again xD

well, you most likely won't get your San Andreas problem working, at least not with that copy of the DVD. Daemon tools will emulate a dvd/cdrom drive, but if you have the hardcopy and THAT itself doesn't work, then even if you ripped it into an image and used Daemon, it still won't work.

What your going to have to do, is get ahold of another copy of San Andreas, a working copy. Once you got that, then we'll help ya make an image out of the working disk.

All of my ISOs are 300mb -ish, but I don't use DAEMON tools to use most of the ISOs, only for Dawn of War.

By the way, what CD crack are you using?

From What I think:
.mdf is the file with data aka megs worth.
.mds is like a .cue ( I am just guessing, since I never use alcohol but i do have these files).

if your .mdf does not have the game info, then obviously you cannot install the game BUT You can still run the game as if you had the CD. My wc3 image is roughly 80 KB and it works.

You are terrible for a pirate xD. So hard to understand what you are saying. Alot of files? Did you extract the ISO or what?

Its pretty simple to "pirate" a game. Download the ISO, Mount with DAEMONS, Install/Play.

sorry, I guess my english is very bad xD
well, ok, I bought this San Andreas game, and of course when you install it, there are a lot of files right?
now, which file should I mount to DAEMON tools?
I just want to try, because It doesn't work even though I have placed the crack correctly, so I l want to try with Daemon tools
so which file should I mount?

You can only mount a single image file, I don't think there is a way to mount extracted multiple files.
