I have travelled so many countries and I find malaysia to be the best country to live
it is much nicer to live than in europe (germany, denmark etc.)

i hear many say that singapore is suxx compare to malaysia and the government is non democratic

am i right ?

nice to go to a country with a great variety of food, skin color (races) and religion (some dummies think all malaysians are muslims =.= )

and also the beaches... roxx !

:Domo

I think I very much love to live in Malaysia

No, you're wrong. You've got it backards. I believe Singapore's government is based on the Westminster System which is what Canada's government is based on. Malaysia on the other hand, has little or no democratic component in the government. Diversity is also abundent. Therefore Singapore isn't "suxx" because a)it's derogatory and b)I believe they have one of the best standards of living a city/country can have.
Economic freedom > beaches that roxx.

I have never been to Malaysia, but I've been to Singapore a few times. Seems like a good place to travel to, but not everyone would like to live there for an extended amount of time. For what it's worth, I heard it's very hard to 'get out' of the country for Singaporeans, and that many of them desire to live in Western countries rather.

I've been to Malaysia and SIngapore when I was very young, I think it in 1994...hmmm...*counts* so back then I was 6 years old. I can barely recall being there.

But I remember there was this really cool place I loved, it seemed like a huge bird sanctuary. Do you know where that is? In Malaysia or Singapore?

I remember the sudden heavy rain that came along and my family and I had to wait at a nearby restaurant before we could return to the hotel. Oh and I also remember a monkey snatching a strawberry milk carton from my dad while he was drinking it. Lol...so many memories but they're so vague.
:D

Haha, just a nice topic for me. I'm Malaysian and I've been living there my whole life but Im also studying in Singapore so for most of the year Im here. Personally I like living in both places, although I will admit that it has its perks.

@iQing: Nah you're wrong dear, Hits is right.
@Kenta: I agree with you that most people wouldnt like to live there for an extended period of time (foreigners) however that is not entirely true. It actually is quite easy for Singaporeans to 'get out' of the country, its just that most choose not to.
@Evanesque: Both countries have bird sanctuaries my dear but I think you are referring to Jurong Bird Park in Singapore because it is one of the largest around these parts.

I like Singapore because of its environment, because it feels safer then in Malaysia, because I have more freedom. However malaysia is still home because of my muslim heritage, the culture, the food etc.

Malaysia, however, remains ahead of Singapore (84), Thailand (90) and Cambodia (105) which fall under the "hybrid regimes" category, of which Iraq (112) anchors.

Singapore is more organised then malaysia.

small countries (lichttenstein, monaco, Switzerland) are always easier to manage and organize than big countries.....

big countries have cities spreadout unevenly and it is hard to do the organizing part.

singapore is like... big city on island... cant compare it to malaysia IMO

hmn.....being a Malaysian myself....i feel both countries are equally good nor bad.both have the advantages and disadvantages itself.
if i'm seeing in the aspect of diversity in cultures, arts, food,etc...etc...to me,Malaysia will be a better choice.like what teddyen said FOOD is the thing that most Malaysian will be missed and i myself missed the food when i was on travelling.
but if i'm seeing in the aspect of govermentation and those related stuffs,i believe that Singapore will be a better choice.like Krice said....Singapore is more organised compare to Malaysia and i agree with that.
@teddyen: those food you mention are going to make your lips turn red and thick.lol

well, I haven't been travelled there. If I'm in the Philippines right now, it will be cheaper for me to travel to Singapore, I think. As for Malaysia, I think it's a nice country.

Gee, I don't which one I'll pick.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politics_of_Singapore#Political_climate

Politics in Singapore have been dominated by the PAP since its independence in 1965. Foreign analysts and several opposition parties including the Workers Party and the Singapore Democratic Party argues Singapore is a de facto one party state and have accused the PAP of taking harsh action against opposition parties to discourage and impede their success, including accusations of gerrymandering and the filing of civil suits against the opposition for libel or slander. In a case involving the J. B. Jeyaretnam, he lost a series of suits to members of the PAP and was declared bankrupt in 2001, effectively disqualifying him from participating in future elections. Similar civil suits have been filed against Chee Soon Juan, leader of the Singapore Democratic Party. In 2005, filmmaker Martyn See shot a documentary on Chee called "Singapore Rebel" and was threatened with a lawsuit for making a "politically partisan" film, which is illegal in Singapore.

Western democracies consider the form of government in Singapore to be closer to authoritarianism rather than true democracy and could be considered an illiberal democracy or procedural democracy.
