Just finished watching here in Canada.

Got to hear renji and Byakuya. Thought Renji's wasn't too bad but it could have been better, maybe deeper or something. Byakuyas at first is a little weird but once he says more than a word its fine.
They actually said ass twice in the show which really surprised me.

Now i can't wat to see 17, frekain gotto wait at least 2 weeks, and it'd piss me off if they decided to start from the beggining again after the marathon.

Byakuya is mostly fine, only problem I see is that he has a slight hint of agressiveness in his voice, maybe. I'm seeing it less and less as I was watch it more. Mostly I like Byakuya's voice.

Renji is ok, better than I assumed from the end of ep 15. Byakuya's was ok, I didn't catch it too well. Overall okay job by the VAs.

Renji was better than I thought he would be when I saw the last episode. But all in all, I thought Byakuya's VA did rather well, though he had no substantial amount of lines, so I'll hold my final thoughts until after I hear more.

EDIT: Also, @ bak3donh1gh, I don't see why "ass" would surprise you. They've said it before. Also, here in the States, it's rated TV-14 (mostly...there have been TV-PG episodes) and I've heard "ass" various times on TV-PG shows like The Simpsons.

Renji? Perfect... Byakuya... perfect...

I wasnt too sure about Renji from the little snippet of last ep, but now I know he's got what it takes (though the "Roar Zabimaru" line was a little weird in my opinion) he's got the right attitude down perfectly.

Byakuya? Well, I guess its a little too early to judge... but I thought it totally suited him, looking forward to the next ep immensly.

Rukia's voice even worked this ep, so I guess I can't really complain about her anymore, hehe!

The VA team are doing a fantastic job, I really am enjoying watchin the dubs myself... can't wait to hear more of Yoruichi and Urahara in the next few eps!!!

Thanks for uploading, here I was thinking I was gonna have to wait till after the new year for my next dub fix... are they gonna do the same at New Years?

I believe Byakuya's english VA is Paul St. Peter. For anyone not familiar with his work, the best example I can give you is Xemnas from Kingdom Hearts 2.

it actually some guy named Dan Woren i read over the list of his other works and all i heard from that list that i know of is from dynasty warriors but i think the voices were good but byakuya's could be a little deeper.

I watched the episode last night via the Tube. I was kind of on the fence with Renji as of episode 15, I knew people were going to go bats*it crazy over how he didn't sound like his Japanese counterpart. I didn't mind too much, because Renji's japanese voice has always bothered me anyway, I never really liked it too much. In 16 I actually liked Wally's performance as Renji, it captured his attitude pretty well.

Byakuya, first let me start off by saying I've watched episode 16 countless times in Japanese, since I was studying the lines for Byakuya. I heavily considered trying out for the part but I realized I was just too late, but still I tried to envision how his voice would play out in English. Though I was really expecting a voice like Sesshomaru's (or even the same VA) I actually was plesently suprised when he spoke. The first line made me kinda go "eh?" since he did sound like an old man, but the rest of it was fantastic.

For those who are complaining about the voices like "OMG WORST VOICES EVER" or "I'm going back to the sub" how about you have a Big Mac and a side of STFU. If you hate the voices so much, then try it yourself. YOU do a better job and we'll see how much complaining you do then. You know, since you guys have so much expertise in the voiceover department and all.

i dont know where to post so i thought id just do it here...has anyone noticed the misspelling of rei fu's name in the ending of bleach?...every time ive watched the dub on adult swim...when the ending plays it says the artist of the ending song is rie fu...or maybe someone has already pointed this out...

Im My opinion. Renjis voice was crap. Byakuya's voise sounded 2 high in spots.

Ishida's voice......he sounded older than he really is. Sometimes i just shake my head saying...WTF is this? im stickin 2 my subs.

Renji's voice sounds like the normal dub voice you'd here form 4kids, that's pretty sad coming from Viz, Byakuya is very good though, they picked a good VA for him, I noticed that at one or two points he sounded not as deo as the original but it doesn't matter that much, it sounded fine to me.

I think Renji's English voice suits his character, it sounded really... punk, lol. I've heard his voice a couple of times in the sub, and I can't say I liked it that much. The dub suits him more IMO.

As for Byakuya, well, I haven't actually heard him in Japanese before, since I've only watched a few episodes of the sub and he wasn't in any of those eps I've watched, so I can't really say which is better, but I think he sounds fine in the dub anyway.

I don't much like Renji's dub voice, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it not much better than a 4kids dub. Trust me, it may not be very good but it's AWAY better than dubbed Usopp or Luffy.

I just felt that the voice didn't realy fit him and was to..well...flat. He didn't have the same enargy or emotion. Plus I don't like how they pronounced his name. It was quite wierd when he said "Roar Zabimaru", as at that moment I shook my head thinking they had got his releas comand wrong. But I don't actualy remember if it was like that in the origional episode so I won't ***** about that. Still, it sounded much to flat.

Bayakuya's voice was good and hopefully we'll hear more from him to get a better sample of his VA. Wasn't spot on but like alot of other characters, did him well. I liked Ishisda's attitude to, but perhaps didn't quite get it right. Kon did well in this episode and Urahara's was once again...flat.

Perhaps they will improve as the series moves on. We'll just have to wait and see. My overall opinion on the new voices were overall good, but not THAT good.

when i first heard renjis voice, i was like "WTF IS WRONG WITH THEM!?"
i put on the original episode and the dub and compared them. almost like the difference between heaven and hell :P

The japanese version of Renji is way better than the Dubbed English version... I mean in respect to voice acting...
