It's already been said that the anime will return to the manga in Feb 07. Shukaku is probably directed towards Gaara himself, as that's what some people call him I guess. I personally think it will be about some guy challenging Gaara to test him and/or the power of the demon within him.

EDIT:

It's either that or they're starting to warm up the anime to prepare for the return to the manga.
