Did someone already make a topic out of this?
I hope not.
Anyway, this manga is one of the best I've ever read. It's kinda like Trigun + Et Cetra + a pinch of Bleach x 10 making an awesome manga. What do you guys think of it?

Why don't someone petition Kubo-san to restart Zombie Powder?

i donno, it doesn't seem like he'll start it, even though i've never read it. but if he decided to restart it then he would have to think of a plot and everything, and it might interfere with bleach, since he's utting soo much effort into it right now.

ZP was cancelled cause it wasn't too popular. Even Kubo himself wasn't too pleased with it.
After I read Zombie Powder, I couldn't help but think it ended without finshing it off. I know it was a previous work to Bleach, and that makes me wonder if Bleach was the reason it never got finished...I might be wrong, it might have finished the way it did...it just seems to me that if you're on a quest for immortality and to bring one's sister back to life...then you'd actually go and become immortal, and bring your sister back to life.
I'm not into reading manga really, it takes up too much of my time as I have various other valuable things to be doing, though this I did sit down at 3am and start reading...I didn't finish it until about 9:45 later that morning, and I can honestly say it was a damn good read.

hi i suscribe to shonen jump and a few months back there was a manga preview for Zombie Powder a manga made by Tite Kubo
Thye said that the manga just suddenly stopped and i want to know if anyone reads it cuz i like the first chapter and am thinking of buying it cuz i like the characters like Gamma (he's on my sig and avatar) cuz he has a chain saw sword and can stop bullets with his black armed thats why he's called the balack armed shinigami

The manga "stopped" because it was too much like another manga out there, I believe you know it...its called yu yu hakusho. I never read it...and i dont plan to. But im sure its note worthy seeing as KT did it..

There's only 4 volumes, so I suggest just reading for the hell of it. Too bad Kite dropped it, it had potential. And I wouldn't say it resembles YYH, more Trigunish than anything.

No. Zombie Powder wasn't stopped cause it was too much like YuYu Hakushou. BLEACH was originally rejected because the first concept idea was like YYH.
Zombie Powder was cancelled because it wasn't popular. It had too much sexual stuff in it (wtf?) too much violence (double wtf. Shounen jump published JoJo and ****ing HOKUTO NO KEN) and just wasn't raking in cash as much as other series was. So it got the flush.

I also got the shonen Jump mag a while back and it also had the first episode of Zombie Powder featured in it. I'm surprised it got cancled cause it did look to be quite interesting. Ya kinda Trigunish/western type.

Noting Wikipedia as well (which may or may not be a trust-worthy source) it says
According to the coverleaf of the third tankōbon, the author was in a state of severe emotional trauma when he wrote it, which may have contributed to the cancellation. Another possible cause of the cancellation was a low number of fan letters, which publishers sometimes use as a gauge of popularity in the manga industry.
Still, a good manga. I have the first two Volumes, and will have to order the others sometime.

I havn't really been interested in reading it, but you can tell by the art its by Kubo Tite and some of the character designs etc, look quite similar to some in bleach especially the guy with part of that thing on his face like the arrancar.

It's a good manga while it lasts, but at the end you will be disappointed that you are only left with a taste of it's potential.

Reviving this Thread because I have a Question and dont want my own thread to be locked!!
I heard that Zombie Powder got canceled because it was too much Like Trigun, and that Kubo was copying from Trigun too much. Anybody else heard about it? I havent finished the series yet, but I like it alot. It does look alot like Trigun I think.

I just read it... I'm wondering if maybe Kubo will actually go back and finish it once he finishes up with Bleach. In my opinion, the manga can still go on, since it lacks a truly definitive ending... but that's just my opinion. I liked this particular manga because:
1.) Kubo's art style
2.) the interesting weapons
3.) Decent storyline held together with action and comedy
so...yeah...that's about it I guess...

I just read the first book of ZP today. It is almost EXACTLY the same as Trigun. The only difference is the dudes are looking for Zombie Powder......... Thats it. The characters and the setting are nearly identical. I'm pretty sure that is why I got cancelled. Maybe Kubo was addicted to Trigun or Trigun just beat him to the punch.
Cowboy Bebop kinda has the same settings but its plot and characters or so much different that you kinda don't even relate them or notice.

Yea, I heard thats why it got cancled, cuz it was too much like Trigun. I havent read alot of trigun, but its on my list! ZP is awesome though, Gamma pwns! His short story manga's are cool also, ultra unholy or something like that.

For some reason the source I saw why it got cancelled was for unpopularity and strong sexual content (like Bleach doesn't have it's own bits and pieces of that XD, maybe not as much).
Even so, Kubo made this one in his highschool years =3 and it's the manga that got me onto Bleach!
