I have the new Windows Media Player 11 now and a lot of the anime I downloaded's audio and video aren't synched up and the video skips a lot of times. The same goes when I use Real Player. I have to use BSPlayer now and the adware that comes with it is very annoying. I downloaded the DivX codec but still, nothing has changed. If I use the DivX player, the video runs smoothly but there isn't audio. =/ Do I still need to manually install the codec to my media players?

Just use VLC, problem solved.
If you don't want VLC for some crazy reason Google CCCP it'll come with all the codecs you need plus two other video players(zplayer imo takes forever to load so you can probably just go with media player classic)

hmm... the same problem happens to me. However when i use the DivX Player, i get both audio and video perfectly.. (r u sure the sound's up? sorry for the ridiculous question...but it's happ before) and that u have the latest version

otherwise, "Video LAN" or "VLC"seems to play everything..

edit: yeah, beaten to it by bak3

I'm thinkin myself about just uninstalling divx because its pretty much the only video player where i get video and audio out of sync, plus i just use VLC more often and VLC will let you have more than one window open(at least 0.8.5, pretty sure 0.8.6 will as well im just to lazy to install)

ps just don't tell GG fansubs you use VLC they really hate it for some reason.

VLC is inferior :P

I use MPC and update the codecs yourself, outdated codecs can do that to you (the skipping)

Also having a weak computer can cause this easily :P

Unless it's the Microsoft codecs (i.e. for all the wmv ones such as wmv9 etc.), updating the codecs requires you to uninstall it via the Add or Remove Programs and install the newer versions. That's usually it (correct me if I'm wrong).

For the newer versions of the codecs, check the website for each codec respectively. Look at the sticky for codecs above. Link here (http://forums.bleachportal.net/showthread.php?t=13644).
