Does it happen with WMP only, did you try it with other media players?

Well, did you recently install any extensions or addons for WMP? Some of them might be incompatible with it, I'll try disabling some.

Each time when WMP plays, do you have that Visualization screen on? If so, turn that off and see what happens. That visualization screen takes up a lot of resources and makes your computer slow.
And as for extensions, go to Tools, and click on Options, when a new window popups, click on the Extensions tab and see what extensions available. Try disabling all of them and see what happens.
You upgraded to WMP11 right? Did this happen with the previous versions of WMP?

WMP 11 is useless, nothing new just a few skin changes from WMP 10. i suggest u use 10 or other media players, (i use ALSong)

The effect was the same when i had WMP10. i recently formatted my computer and still had the effect. So yes, it did happen with the previous versions of WMP. And there are no extension tabs in the Tool>Option.
