If your looking for a new manga fairytail is a good choice. At first glace the characters look alot like onepiece and bleach characters but youll find out that they realy are different.
www.kefi.org provide good scans for those who are interested. If you prefer the raw versions just ask and ill post a link.
For now just tell me what you think of it.
PS: For and fluent japanese translatrors out there. A fairy tail scantilation group called ezra scans are lookin for new translators. Message me if youre interested. They are also recruiting quality checkers and typsetters.

Hmmmmmmmmmm. Well at first glance i immediatley thought one piece. Is this made from the same person? I think the style is way too similiar.

lol i mentioned that the style is similer but i also mention that once you get into the manga youll realise its quite different. Read a few more chapters and you'll see what i mean. The characters you'll meet later on have pretty unique personalities in my opinion. :D

mmm just read up to chapter 10. Gray is funny.

I can see strong resemblence to One Piece in the elemantal mages though. They act a lot like logias would.

Man I dont log in for a few days and suddenly i miss three pages of this thread! Yup Kefi does take their time with scans of fairy tail. Thats why another group was thinking of scaning ( i think i mentioned this on the first page) Sadley though they couldnt find a translator so....
Fairy tail is actually the one and only manga i read. Normally i prefer anime but fairy tail isnt animated yet.

By the way, we managed to convice KEFI to put the latest chapters of FT on direct download so people who suck at using the IRC (like me) can acctually get chapters straight of their website. But the condition is that people still visit the IRC channel every now and again because they dont want their channel to die.

Forgot to mention that i know one of the newest fairytail editors/cleaners (Pryan) and she gives me updates every once in a while.

I just started reading it after seeing this thread, I've read up to chapter 47 ad I really enjoyed it so far, but since there were no more chapters scanlated I thought I'd see what other work the mangaka had done, and I found Rave Master, his previous manga... I'm really enjoying it, and I have more to read since it's already been scanlated up to volume 23...
And it has Plue as a main character! xD

Both Fairy Tail and Rave Master will, I think, be some of my favourite mangas...

Wow, I just started reading this manga and I'm already hooked, the characters are so interesting. Especially Natsu, he's one of the few main shounen protagonists I've ever liked. Plue should have stayed in rave master though IMO.

Or maybe they're trapped somewhere (all the dragons) by some massive shounen-esque evil, and Natsu and the other slayers are gonna have to save them and defeat evil etc. etc.

But it gives more shape to the story. Lucy's trouble with her parents is kind of... boring.

I respect you have an opinion on the new arc but I think it is a very intresting so far and is definitely a good change of pace from the cliched "boy saves world from evil" storyline shounen manga constantly use. Besides, I think this arc will give more emotional depth to Lucy. Anyway, Lucy got along fine with her mother, it was her father she had trouble with.

Hmm... I read through the 94 chapters on Bleachexile in a couple of days, and I have to say I'm impressed. Erza (shouldn't it be Elza? =/) is quite awesome, and very interesting :3. Plus, armored hot chicks are always a plus.

To me the most interesting stories until now were the Phantom Guild fight (Makarov angry was awesome beyond belief) and the Leo arc with Loki :3. Those were awesome.

Anyway I sure hope Natsu pulls something new this time... otherwise he will turn into the fire-wielding Luffy for real <.<'

Going by shounen law, Natsu will probably acquire some new power in this fight and defeat Gerard, or at the minimum forces him to retreat. Erza's life is in jeopardy so he can't afford to lose.

The big guy (forgot his name) is also inside the Tower so maybe he'll play a part in the fight too, by saving Natsu from a lethal attack or something.

Although, to be honest, Natsu pulling hitherto unknown power from his ass in this fight may not be so illogical. What if he uses "emotion flame" or another dragon-slayer technique? It would still be (relatively) logical.

I didn't really think of eating that crystal for reasons said by Erza/Ger-zef. Didn't think it was possible. Wonder if he can eat other things now too or if its still got to be fire or at least have partial fire properties?

I think it has to have at least some fire properties so that he can consume it and power himself. But he probably absorbs other properties it has and powers himself up to add to his power. That's why he got this dragon power thing.

If he starts eating other things, then it'll turn kind of weird, because he'll no longer be a Salamander but kind of a multicolored dragon o.o

I want to see him make use of Emotion Flame again. If this is what it is, then at least it's not a hitherto unknown power upgrade that is only used now against the evillest magician evar.

You know, if this is indeed Emotion Flame and Natsu is winning because of powers that are known and have already been revealed, Fairy Tail marks something new and amazing in manga history.

The almighty antagonist is not omnipotent that is defeated by the power of friendship! Well, he's not defeated because the protagonist has friends and he doesn't, but because the protagonist increases his already existing power with powerful emotions. Which is perfectly true and reasonable and not flimsily explained by "the power of my pure heart!". Emotions can affect fighting powers greatly :cm:.

So yeah. Fairy Tail so far is win.
