i hear about the bonsai kitties a while ago, the pictures are disgusting. Who in their right mind would do such a thing? Why isn't the government doing something about it.... for crying out loud the guy is selling them even on the internet. I hate cats, but even this is too much. i wouldn't even wish this upon them. Someone should stick that guy in a small can and see how he likes it.

It's just as much creulty as most large companys in the word treat their livestalk, you don't see the governments doing much about that. I agree that it is animal creulty.

Great idea  But really seriously i think this is horrable and it needs to stop. There isn't even a REAL reason to do that junk to cats. Unless you are a sick perverted psyco.

i was looking thorugh the gallery on that site and there was these pictures where they were showing the steps in which to make a it so you can have you child pet the kitty while it is still in the container. they said it would be a great addition to the living room and a great way for you child to get close to the cat.......they also had a picture where they were gonna put a baby in the container.

I know that really creeped me out..... Makes you want to do some thing...
To bad hacking is illegal.....
The Humane Society of the United States did an investigation on this guy, and deemed it to be a hoax. Article here (http://www.hsus.org/pets/issues_affecting_our_pets/animal_abuse_and_neglect/bonsai_kitten_web_site/). Investigation is still open, thankfully.
The sick weirdo basically gets off by making animal friends angry. Hist host refuse to remove his website, and as long as he doesn't actually sell anything or is discovered to do "bonsay kittens" the site is protected by the first amendment.
But yes, if it was true (I suppose it could still be somewhere, never know what kind of people are out there) then it would be utterly *d.i.s.g.u.s.t.i.n.g* and the people responsible should be sentenced for life in my opinion.
Sorry for getting riled up, but animal rights is close to my heart.

Hacking is NOT illegal in ALL cases...
I know people who do hacking as a profession. You can even take studies in hacking. Basic hacking is a part of my education as well... As long as you don't use it outside your own network or have the right ID it isn't illegal.

My gosh, that's pure animal cruelty, it remainded me to some weirdos that went to the Galapagos and mistreated and even ate some of the protected creatures in those islands.

It's most definitely a hoax, but if it weren't, it would be a pretty psychotic thing to even think about. It's just a cruel joke that's managing to piss people off. >_<
Like Pipp said, it's "just" a sick joke.
The question still remains though, is it even morally right to do something like this? Freedom of speech is sacred thing, yes, but just the idea of doing it and keep doing it just to make people angry and feel bad is.. disgusting in my eyes.
In this day and age, it wouldn't be too far fetched to think that it would promote this kind of thing either. People do all sorts of idiotic things (setting homeless people on fire anybody?) and if this guy can get this much attention I'm sure someone is going to jump the bandwagon sooner or later, and that time it'll be for real.

This person is really sick. It is really "feeling reluctant" and even if it is a joke it is very bad taste. It is extremely cruel.

I agree, this person apparently has a twisted sense of humour, and even if he only meant it as a joke, people just MAY be stupid enough to try that shit. O_o (I'll bet he signed his own guestbook, too. T_T) Freedom of speech is great and all, but everything has it's limit.

It is pretty sick, and I'm pretty sure he got tons and tons of hatemail, if that email address he provided it even valid. Aha. I tried reading all the e-mail address in his guestbook, and they all sound do bogus to me. -sigh- How do people come up with such stupid things to do.

Man, that was really twisted. I however, got that email a long time ago, and after that they said it was all a hoax so it's all good.

Even if it was a joke it's still wrong because he had to place the cats in those jars in order to take those pictures.

This is just sick, people who do that are scum of the earth.
Its fine when people modify their own bodies, they choose to, or if somebody else asks to modify their body, because they want it. But forcing body modificiation is just wrong.

O_o i think its just wierd, i mean what if it dies and starts decaying in the bottle. That baby who used it for a seat would be scarred for life.
Lol, i think its kinda funny and cruel at the same time. :teu38:

As previously remarked, it's not real, it's just a bit of black humour. If you actually read the text, the game should be given away..."rectal diverticulum" and the like.

really cant say much, but i kinda laughed at the pictures... its pretty much animal cruelty i guess, stuffing an anmail in a jar, sufficating it, with no freedom, the cat legs proberly get deformed, or get broken? i dunno. seems mean, these people should be ashamed on them selfs, doing that to little kittens..

If its a joke then all is good if not that guy should be tortured and stuffed in a jar by a kitten

I was just gonna say, the whole bonsai kitten thing isnt real...though the thought of taking a kitten and stuffing it into a glass container for its lifespan is quite a sick and disturbing thought none the less. To me its nothing to laugh at. But thats just my perspective. Especially since I'm a cat lover.

this is pretty sick
the cats in those containers must be suffering pretty bad
think its better if i kill it to let it rest in peace
coz the cat in those containers cant even live longer anymore n maybe it
have some problems with its body coz it had never moves for a long time in the jar

Yea, so it's safe to assume that you guys haven't found out that it was a hoax site, right? Yes, he put the cats in the jars to take the pictures, but that is as far as it went. End of story.

Um I think a bunch of people need to read through the Humane Society of the United States' article again, because the article clearly states that it was a hoax and that the images were made in a photoshop program so apperantly the kittens never even went into the jars in the first place. Though I'm not defending the guy, because even as a joke some stupid people will take it seriously an really try it. Though until some one actually attempts it it won't be cruelty, besides if you try to stuff a week old kitten into anything other than a comfortable somewhat larger than the kitten itself container, which means a kennal or cardboard box, it will defend itself and you will end up hurt and the cat will run away. I know this because my family owns cats yes two black and white short hairs, and no we didn't try to stuff them in jars. It was when we were going to put them in a transport box, you now the ones the veteranarian gives you, to go to a veteranarian to get their innoculations done. If it is that haard to get a kitten into a roomy box than it must be harder to try and get one in a bottle roughly its own size.

That case of animal cruelty may be a hoax, but this is definitely not. What do you think, would you eat Foie Gras... gotten the info from www.goveg.com (it is a bias website, but I heard much of the same info when the topic was discussed on the McLaughlin Group on NBC)
"Foie gras, which is French for "fatty liver," is made from the grotesquely enlarged livers of male ducks and geese. Birds have up to 2 pounds of food per day pumped into their stomachs through long metal pipes that are shoved down their throats. The cruel ordeal often causes severe injuries that make it painful or even impossible for birds to drink. Those who survive the feedings suffer from a painful illness that causes their livers to swell to eight to 10 times their normal size. Many birds become too sick to walk and are reduced to pushing themselves across their cages with their wings. When the birds are slaughtered, their livers are sold for foie gras."

I will confess that i am one of those people that just hate cats.
However I find the idea of "Dedicated to preserving the long lost art of body modification in housepets" rather off putting.
And it all in the sake of art.
Now I am not one of those people that will go on about Free Range Vs. Battery Hens. And there was been many time that I have seen the people the like animal liberation being completely wrong about various agriculture practices.
However i do feel that some of those practises are cost for the reason why we have food on our table.
However..... bonsia kittens...... what purpose is that suppose to provide?
Art?
Some people taste in art are just sick.

This is sick and should be stopped. I could never stick a cat in a jar, or own one as it is too cruel. This should be made illegal!

Actually I have no idea what the point of this entire thread is considering there isnt MUCH info but from the above post, and IM just going off that, if its about sticking dead animals in jars to preserve them, I dont see anything wrong with that. If its sticking LIVE animals or whatever nvm, Im just gonna shut up and wait till theres more info.

They stick live kittens in jars to make them have some shape that people like. Sometimes they're left in the jars and used as ornaments in living rooms. It's needlessly cruel.

poor kittens... I can't imagine anyone wanting to hurt animals unless they were seriously ****ed up. Even when one of my cats threw up on the carpet or crapped in the house, I can't even bring myself to yell at them because they're so cute!
Shame theres so much wrong in this world and so little people fixing it... one day, I'm definately going to do something active to try and prevent animal abusing. It's probably impossible to stop it all though...

I can't tolerate cruelty towards animals, all living being for that matter!
LEGALIZED KILLING FIELDS!
America kills more than 9 billion animals a year, and has led to the extinction of several species.
