View Full Version : hello?
look, I don't know where to post this so I did it here.
I want to apply as Gfxcrew member but the gfx crew application thread has been closed. But we lost two classcrew members (or so I've heard). So could I just make a thread for the test...?
and do you guys still want to see my work?
if so, here it is:

Still experienced imo.
1. has really bad quality, grainy at many places. and effects look random.
2. the bg colors dont match the stocks colors imo, daft punk stocks should have more vibrant colors IMO. and the text is bad.
3. best out of the bunch, but i dont like the text, right side is a little messy and i thik you could have used a better color then purple.
4. stock position is horrible imo, looks like her upper body has been cut off. lighting is also weird. colors are good though, effects too, but you seem to over-sharpen stuff in there making it look grainy.
5. empty, lighting is weird, text doesn't fit at all imo.
In all your sigs the stock is almost always placed the same way. Work on coloring, not making stuff look grainy, text. And try using another type of border from time to time.
dude, did you even read my post...?
I'm not here to get classified...
We (the gfx crew) agreed that you should be tested to get into the graphics crew once you've got an 'advanced' classing.
((imo, you'd get this if you reclassed now - I for one would give you advanced with those tags))
okay, well, then re-class me please.
Low Advanced
As regards to your comment about the stock always being placed in the same way, that isn't a problem imo, since the rule of thirds states that the focal is best placed slightly to the right of the centre, because this is where the eye is naturally drawn to first. This is the case in most of his tags, hence the stock placement in all of them enhances the composition of the tags.
Aside from that, his style is unique, and in my opinion, that alone should be given some credit, since inventing a style that is completely your own requires much more skill than simply doing something that someone else has already done, which is what most gfxers do to some extent at least.
1st one is high experienced - nice effects and composition, but the quality is poor, and the lighting needs work.
2nd one is high experienced - good effects and flow, but depth and lighting need work, and text is horrid
3rd one is advanced - good sense of direction, good compositon, good effects, lighting is possibly a little too subtle but still quite well done, blending is nice, colours are good, depth is good. Text is quite nice. Left hand side is possibly a little empty.
4th one is advanced - Very nice lighting and directional flow, effects are good, colours are possibly a little monotone, but sill fit well with the focal, blending is very nice, only real criticism would be that the bottom left corner is a bit flat.
5th one is advanced - the effects are really subtle, but create depth and flow really well. Colours are lovely. Lighting is nice. The 'mist' effect is really good, and fits really well with the theme of the stock. I actually like the use of text here.
advanced(low) gmv.
I really like the originality even though a lot of times they don't work out. 1, 3, 4 are well done though again, text needs improvement.
Wow neve that's a damn good comment thanks a lot.
Btw, I've made a nice tag (IMO) tonight so I added that to the wall.

Very high experienced imo.
You have a unique style, but some of the basics still need some work. Lighting (position), colours (some of them are a bit monotome), and text still need some improvements imo. But you're getting better. :)

Stay high experienced imo.
#1. Very grainy and low quality. The box effect kills the sig and the colors are mediocre. Nice lighting however, and the effects are well done. Rating: Low Experienced.
#2. Needs lighting, colors are horrid, colors dont blend well and need saturation. The text is also mediocre, and effects look messy and faded. Rating: Amateur
#3. Great colors and effects, but some parts need work and the effects seem out of place in some places. The text is great however and nice use of negative space. Rating: Low Advanced.
#4. If it werent for the effects on the left, then it would be High advancd. But because the effects on the left dont corespond with the wind-like effects on the right, it messes with the flow and creativity, as well as realism. Great coloring, but it is a bit monotone. Lighting fits well too. Rating: Advanced
#5. Misty a bit too much? Even in actual mist/fog you can see background texture. The effects are ok, the text is so-so, but the coloring and blueish and redish pin light on the persons face, doesn't work for me. Maybe some more of those texture and white foreground effects would work better? Rating: Low Advanced.
#6. Effects are horribly low q, the colors seem understaturated, the text is absolute and total murder, and looks blurry in some parts. However the texture, shapes, and lighting are great. Looks very artistic. Rating: High Experianced.
1 experienced
1 amateur
1 high experianced
2 low advanced
1 advanced
That makes a total of very High experianced, if it werent for sig 2, you would have my advanced vote.
So far:
3 votes for advanced
3 votes for experienced.

Classed advanced, I believe, and closed.
