Probably, new characters are still joining on a daily basis.

It's fun to go the starting areas where new players are and hear the funny questions appear in the chat box. Brings back memories.

It looks like a great game, especially for an MMORPG, but from what Ive heard its really tough to start playing now. Everyones told me the expansions require level 50 and up, and that just seems like too much time to spend just to get to the bulk of the game.

^ just start with the first FFXI then work your way up to the other expansions. PM me if you start and I`ll get you a world pass so we can play together. I can power level you so youll gain levels fairly quickly with me and my friends protecting you.

I've got ffxii for pc and i wa salso in the beta on 360 for it but i never really got into it, on pc it just didnt do it for me, when i baught it i thought it'd look like the 360 version 'cept on pc but it didnt, looked more like a few years old game, and i just couldnt start it, usually im not bothered with gfx etc but i dunno i guess it was a bit of a let down, eitherway i might buy the 360 version, i'll need to get used to the controls on it though \o/

I'm also a big fan of final fantasy xi games... hmm

The controls for FFXI are very simple. Especially if you are playing on the PC with a keyboard. Let me know if you get the game. I'll start you off on my server. :)

I've allready got it for pc, my account is cancelled though, oh and btw, do any of you guys know a way of downloading rise of the zilart(?) expansion pack, lost the disk to it and it requires you to install it to play that expansion..

I was into for it awhile when it first came out on PC. I have played both FF11 and World of Warcraft and would have to honestly say I had more fun with FF11. I think it was just the style of the game and type of people that played.

I liked the skill-chain and weapon skills system alot too, added alot more "depth" to the combat especially at high levels. I may have gotten frustrated and pissed off at it "espeically the limit break and AF quests" but I had fun and alot of memorable moments from it.

I had a difficult time getting a couple pieces of my AF. Especially my Wizard's Tonban, the Necropolis coffer always sucks.

But yeah, the limit break quests do become tedious. I'm looking forward to my Maat fight though.

I was a dragoon/warrior and I recently went back to the game like 5-6 months ago to see how it is still going and I was amazed at all the changes, they have made it much easier and the economy is totally messed up. Which angered me kinda because I had to do much more work to accomplish the same things when I played.

Dragoon is hard to level up because people don't acknowledge it's power as a damage dealing job. I however try to invite the job to my parties whenever possible, as there is a surplus of them around my level. ^^

used to play before the Japanese and American players really shunned playing together got white mage, ninja , black mage, paladin, bard to 75 got really sick of leading HNMLS trying to keep people on time and aware of requirements. it just became a job instead of a game. the economy sucked before i left and from what i hear still sucks guess they wont fix something inherently flawed.

The prices on all the servers have dropped. You can see this on FFXIAH (http://www.ffxiah.com). Also, I know how you feel about HNM. I couldn't imagine staying in one of those shell's long term. You know what I mean? Beat at least one two of those NM's, and leave it at that. All the drama in HNMLS's are enough to make someone go insane. I have no desire to stick around that sort of bullshit.

Couldn't you find a Windows emulator and play that way? It's also on the X-Box 360, and PS2.

Are you actually going to play the game for awhile, or is it going to be short term?

Well it depends on how big the disk is and also what exactly is on the expansion? its gotta be quite big to not be able to download it via update or something.

Well yeah, the expansions are so large in size because of all the data included in them. I would say Rise of the Zilart is at least 2 GB's in size.
