iPod-meets-phone-meets-Web-communicator from Apple is here, and yes, it's called the iPhone.

Specs time:

* 11.6mm thick: apparently thinner than all those other anorexic smartphones

* iPod connector, mic input, and speaker jack

* Highest-res Apple screen of all time

Well its plain stupid in my opinion, Apples forcing you to go on a cell phone company wether or not you are with them (think its Cingular)
Its expensive as hell 600$, plus you need to buy a product plan.
PLus they stole the name iphone from cisco who had their product in the market name iphone
Plus its only 8gb its almost what the point of putting video capabilities if your only going to give it 8 gb max, you might as well wait for the ipod touch(copy writed ;p )
It only has a 5 hour talk life which just plain isn't enough for a phone.
No expansion slot, have to buy 8 gig or better hope you have a good policy.
Closed system , meaning no thrid party application. Have to get it from apple, probably meaning $$ for "new features".
Plus knowing apple and the ipod, major scratching and finger prints.

THeres are probably other gripes but I'm too lazy to go find them, other than that they did a god jopb. Still I'd rather wait for their touch screen ipod. Thouhg i'll probably wait for m$ zune version of seeing how I'm happy with my zune I'll stick with that brand.

but anyways i think its absolutly revolutionary... ridiculous... i would buy one i think except by the time they come out my 2year contract with cingular wont be up, so i would have to buy it for full retail and as of right now it just doesnt seem worth it.. but im still in college right now, when it comes out ill be working so maybe it will be more worth it then..

shitty that its only 8GB and only has a 2.0megapixel camera... 20gigs and a 5 or 6megapixel camera and i would probably jump on it!

This is the best phone ever. This totally owns the Nokia N95 that is coming out. Apart from the fact that the n95 has a 5mp camera and sat nav, but this has itunes for gods sake! This owns anything else! But it is a bit on the pricy side and it don't come out here until autumn, here meaning england.

I highly doubt I'd get that one because I tend to be gizmo backward. Sure it's great to have an ipod with a phone but I prefer to have some things separate. It's just a current fad going around and manufacturers are taking advantage of it.

honestly, i consider ipod's pathetic. And now that they are putting it into a phone? Knowing how stupid the consumers would be (and i speak as a stupid consumer myself), they'll prolly jump on this product like they are still on the motorola razr. It's' simply dumb. Ipod's are RAPED products that people don't even buy for the quality thereof anymore.. they just buy it because it's cool and everybody has one. I'm not going to waste a penny on any of apple's products unless it's an actual computer. I wouldn't mind learning how to function a mac, but that's about it. 2 year old Billy can have this over-priced, unoriginal invention that will only sell quickly because it has the name of an mp3 player that unborn babies want for christmas.

Besides, there are other great phones out there that are just as dependable as this sale's pitch apple is offering.

Apple has always been saying that they were going to release a phone that is like an iPod
and I think they have achieved more than the imaginable...
Its so stylish and slim... but if its anything like the iPod nano.. then I reckon its not worth buying
and when I mean like the nano.. I mean is it going to break or crack or get scratched easily?
That would be a down fall

Im very very happy with the capabilities of the iphone. However, I think its going to suffer from being too expensive. Other than that, I really couldnt ask for much more

No... and the price will surely NOT go down.. like iPod for instance... they have NOT put the price down at all... All in all... iPod have released their best product over, now lets see how many of these iPhones they sell.
And mostly serves the purpose of being a music phone, I wanna see how Sony Ericsson hits back ehehehe...

Yes.. who know's... there have been problems with the other iPod's.. especially Nano's so.. I wouldn't be surprised to see this one get any
