Here in Montreal,Canada, the Filipinos here are great (in my opinion). They are friendly and understanding. I've met a lot of friends (Filipino friends dahil sumali ako sa Youth Ministry dati) Comparing to the place I lived in the Philippines (sa cavite kasi ako nakatira dati pero nag-aaral ako sa laguna), the people there are negative in my former community. I'm proud of being a pinay - but sometimes I have doubts too - just like yours. I'm saying this because I was treated badly with my own neighbors, friends, classmates, family - you named it and imagine that, they're filipinos. tsk...tsk...drama noh? pwede nang pang-soap opera :lol But here in Montreal, I'm peaceful here and I hope na sana may mga makilala akong mga mababait na pinoy. :)

hmmm... that's a good thought - I thought I'm the only one who thinks that way. Yeah, I have to agree with you though the fact that some pinoys are trying to be cool (especially some or most pinoys in the Philippines) kasi feeling nila may advantage sila or may asset sila porque lang mayaman sila, matalino or may looks. kapag wala ka 'non - outcast ka na sa society completely or in short, hindi ka nila papansinin. Yeah, that sucks for some of them - that I guarantee.

Well, since I have to stop complaining about this too, I'm just thankful that somebody else (Thank God) thinks the same way as I do about this issue. I can smile now. :)

Turon is made from a banana [not the full grown ones and not the yellow type ones - it's made from saba (a large type of banana - the greenish one. it can also be found at the provinces in the Philippines (provinces in the Philippines means the local and country side places. Unlike Canada, the provinces also means states in the United States)] - wrapped in spring roll pastry [you know the veggie spring rolls served at the Chinese restaurants (not the white - the yellowish one) - that's the wrapper they used] with caramelized sugar. I don't know how to make it, but I know what is made from. Turon sells mostly in the Philippines as an afternoon snack or a desert.
