I had this same problem a while back and had to get rid of my PS2. Mine was a problem with the disk drive, it just wouldnt open, and eventually the system wouldnt turn on. I dont really know if theirs anything you can do besides sending it back in to Sony. Do you have a warranty on it?
Sounds like a problem. I only know of one person (this guy above me) with a similar problem. I guess it's rare. If you have a warranty you could probably send it back to Sony. Or if anything, just call Sony and be like "Listen dawgs, I need y0 help".
:)
no I dont
It's already 4 Years :(
I'm gonna try to open the Friggin thing then
EDIT: How the heck do you open the PS2? I mean to the inside, no screws or anythign :/
No idea about the problem, but to open it, the screws are on the bottom. Under the pads. I think there are 8 in all. Most of the electronics are on the bottom half, so the top half opens up. Be careful though; there is a cable that connects to the power and eject button connected to that top half.
A question: does the disc tray open up at all? It's a little bereft of information...
no it doesn't
when the green light turned on, and the blue light should tuerned on right?
well it did, but then it goes red again :(
okay, I found it, it's hidden I guess xD
well.. now.. you said.. inside there are cables that connects to things...
I mean.. Is it possible If I open it, then I messed it up?
Coz I never really opened these things, but my dad opens my PSX once, and it worked again
so I thought he could help
I mean is the Cables easy to break? or what?
I thought I might clean it, since the outer if F*cking dusty, so the inside must be real Dusty
Is it possible to get my game out? coz there's a game inside :(
maybe because of the sensor thingy it;s broken??

Why don't you take it to a Circuit City, or a Best Buy or something like that?
what's that, I don't live in USA xD
and.. my mom won't pay for repairment, why would she waste money on just some consoles :(

Well there has to be some sort of repair place where you live! :)
Or see if you know anyone. Or anyone, that knows anyone, that knows anyone :Haha
Yeah i had a problem with the disk drive on my old (chunky style) ps2, only had it for 2 years or so too, either the spinner, or scanner went, i think it was more likely the spinner but still it wouldnt load anything and made funny noises untill it eventually conked out, same happened with my dreamcast actually, i need luck.. :/
Best option is if its still under garrentee then get it repaired off that if not it'd probably be cheaper to buy a new ps2 really since repairing it can sometimes cost alot... , unless you want to save up and buy a ps3 although ps2 games look shite on a ps3... Unless you know of a mate or someone who is good with repairing things...
nonono, I got to Repair this, no Warranty
so if someone could really help, that would be very great :)
Why exactly have you go to repair it though, if you don;t mind me asking?
hm??
sorry I don't get what you mean, My english is noob :(
I think you mean why Did I want to repair it?
well Because I still want to play it :Dand I won't buy a PS3

hmm... you could trade in for around 40 dollars and buy a new one for 110. Thats about all I can tell you besides paying Sony just as much to fix it and ship it back.
well..... that's too complicated xD
I think I'm just gona leave it :(

Try cleaning the inside, im not talking about soap and sponges, that would totally and permanently screw it up.
Just a simple duster will do, i had a similar problem with my Xbox a while ago and so i took it appart and dusted it, now it works fine.
How about some Tissue? it'll be fine won't it?
My dad is going to open it, hopefully it'll work again
I actually don't really play it, but I mean.. if it's broken.. I just wasted my friggin money :(
sorry for the bump, otherwise, no one will see this :(
But I tried opening the PS2
Now I reached the part where I could see the inside of the disc Tray
With the sensor and all that stuff? got where I am?
Now how the heck do I open that thing, I mean, undeer it there's this all Electronic thing, and I want to go there
anyone know how?
