Okay, Ichi's is a 40ish year old dude with a teathered up coat or something & Zambimaru's a huge muscular baboon with a snake tail.

So what's Senbonzakura?
Is it humanoid or a tree, or a flower, or what?

I say something that seems royal or higher up since a Zanpaktou reflects it's user.

Whadda-ewe guyz think?

just speculation since i dun think we'll ever find out

but.. i reckon his ava would be something akin to a fair lady wearing a kimono with those senbonzakara leaves spiralling around her, but with cold eyes.

sort of like..the nobility and his r/ship with Hisana.. since they linked the fall of the leaf to her death, in a symbolic sense i believe his ava would represent that in some way.

Hmmm the Bankai is a step further in becoming one with your zanpakutoh so as seen in the fight where they both unleash there last attacks Byakuya uses the shukeh Hakutekh move which gives him a glowing halo and large wings.... so im guessing his avatar would be an angelic form of someone or something

yeah i think that is very possible... id dont belive it is a female becasue it has been said that uraharas zanpakutoh is very rare in the fact that it is female... but i dont belive that it is impossible... but thats my opinion

Well i saw the thread about what would Byakuya's Avatar look like so im making one for all shinigami with zanpakutos. So yea what do you think of other shinigami? (doesnt have to be just captains.)

Very Good I actually didn't think about it. I may have only been able to think about it for like 40 seconds until i saw yours but still that's a very good observation. I think you migh be right but to be more specific i wanted to go towards like the goddess of nature or something along those lines since his bankai and all that look like sakura petals (plant=nature) you know what i mean?

the only reason they resemble sakura pedals is because the reflecting light on them...
and light = angels

soo yeah the angel thing is a good assumption

Yea if there was no light it would probably be seen as the real thing, just a bunch of blades... kinda like that one shinigami that Sado owned early in the story, unless his reiatsu generates his own light

Hmm, I agree with the theory of the angel wings, but to take it a step further, I can kinda picture sort of an "angelic dragon". Before you think I'm crazy, here's why: when the wings of the attack were forming, I think I saw something that resembled a dragon head shooting out. So, perhaps, the avatar is a shiny white dragon. Plus, dragons can often be associated with nobility.

hmmm... i think that byakauya's zanpaku-to is a kidou based one.... just like ichinose maki.... and i think its form would a ghost???? hahaha... o just kidding maybe its light...

The dragon head was added in by the anime team, it dosent really exist. For that reason, it'll probably be a angel or something, because a angel, being "noble" and above all reflects byakuya's status of nobility.

yeah i odnt think that his zanpakutohs avatar would ahve anything to do with rukia's sister because he had the zanpakutoh before he even met rukias sister so i dont think that it would... and also it would be the first person to ever have ana avatar who was modeled after another living person... i figure it would be something liek an angel maybe a female but it could be anything for all we know... it could end up being some kind of giant one eyed goblin for all we know ... but the angel idea is very good speculation

I read through this thread a bit, and I have to say you all dissapoint me...

What are zanpaktos? Zanpaktos are the represenation of their user's persona.

Ichigo's is simple and straight forward, but with a hidden depth in it - old man Zangetsu and Ogichi show perfectly his personality traits.

So, why are you all shooting random stuff like "a dragon", or "a sakura tree!".

if you want to speculate what is his avatar, first analize his personality then start talking...

from what I see, he's cold but with a hidden burning beneath his frozen outside, and he is also devious although he appears straight forward and blunt. He is also very proud, and I think he fights for prode more than anything.

So his avatar would have to be something representing those traits. A proud hawk maybe - devious while appearing straight forward and blunt, proud, cold but burning with passion inside.

My guess? Some kind of overly feminine looking samurai, so that anime fans can start there yaoi fanfictions and whatnot...

Seriously though, it'll probably be some sort of regal sounding noble samurai. Or perhaps even a knight? Something that symbolizes his personal struggle to uphold the law, without forfeiting his humanity. I wonder...can a Shinigami's actions cause their avatar to be altered or cease to exist? Like, if Byakuya had killed Rukia, what would have happened to his inner self? Hmm...
