Ok seriously Naruto doesn't really look like it's actually a ninja series at all. Most of the characters techniques are really loud and plus some of the clothing doesn't really hide them at all. And lets not forget about Naruto. Naruto wheres a orange sweater and pant that doesn't really hide him but instead make him a target easily. He doesn't really think much when it comes to sneaky moves. His techniques are pretty loud. So yea lets face the facts that Naruto isn't really like a ninja series. If you go watch another ninja series then you would see that there techniques aren't loud and they think twice before they move unlike some characters in Naruto. Plus some of there missions isn't really ninjaish like capturing a cat or pulling out weeds from the garden. There not really like ninja stuff at all. I'm not talking bout the characters. To me some of them are really good at being a ninja like kakashi (sure chidori isn't really a good ninja technique because its very loud) shikamaru, itachi, and others that are really good at being ninjas but others are just not that good. I'm not making fun of this anime at all or the characters but just saying that it's not like a ninja show at all.

Naruto is supposed to be a fun anime, not a completely serious hardcore ninja series, that's why the main character is made to screw up, be very stubborn, etc, etc.
You can't expect them to jump around, dressed in black with black masks and their lilttle swords, jumping from tree to tree fighting enemies.
Naruto is distinguished by this orange suit loud kid who goes around doing things immaturely.

What do you think of when you hear the word "ninja"? Person dressed in all black with a mask being all stealthy infiltrating a building and stealing stuff or doing an assasination mission, right? Well... that's like the general/common idea of what we think a ninja is all about.
Even if the the ninjas in Naruto are loud and stand out (thats like mostly Naruto himself), its still pretty exciting to watch. Everyone besides Naruto arent that loud. Whats wrong with the techniques being loud? Genjutsu techinques arent loud.
How about when Kakashi fought against Zabuza? Kakashi had Zabuza locked down with the summoning of his dogs then he used Raikiri on Zabuza. Kakashi knew better since Raikiri is loud and it would be easily avoidable so he trapped Zabuza first.
If you use silent techinques all the time but your opponent doesn't fall for them so what then? When fighting you have to outthink your opponent even if you can see and hear whats coming in front of him/her. Take the fight with Temari and Shikamaru for example. Temari had everything calculated out. She could see eveything that was going on. She knew how she would end the fight but in the end Shikarmaru had everything go his way from the beginning.
I'm just tossing out ideas that ninjas dont always have to be silent. I'm not bashing you here either and im not bashing on other ninja shows that are in your perspective real ninjas..
The missions like pulling weeds are more like training. If you think about it, it will show if you have the patience to pull out hundreds of weeds which is tedious and boring work.

Well when i hear the word ninja i don't always think about some people wearing black suit and stuff. When i here the word ninja i think about them being quiet or thinks twice before they move. There outfit isn't so colorful or something. At least something that blends in with there background there in.
You guys really do have a point about Naruto is a fun anime to watch.
