Well the thanks should go to a friend of mine who got it while he was in Japan ^^ As for the same pic for the banner i never noticed it - i was too busy starting in awe at the fact i got bleach stuff for xmas :P

With that being said, i hope in some time in the future they release Bleach figurines in the UK, coz i know a shop that sells alsorts of figurines (including the whole FF8 set i got) for like £2.99 each - A figurine of Renji would be just toooo cool heheh

Anyway, I'm just bringing back a few of the topics from before such as Renji's hair (mmmm). I'd say that he'd leave them tied because lord knows the horde of sexed up women who'd jump him if he put his hair down. I believe Renji has known of his untamable charm since he was a kid and found that by tying up his gorgeous red flowy hair, the women would... chase him less, so hence him tying up his hair permanently (upon exception of defeat where NO ONE has made defeat look SOOO SEXYY!) Tihi. Just say it, I know you're all thinking it, I'm stupid, yes I am aware!
OK for the pairing...*please don't hurt me*... I am a Renruki... yes yes, I know and although I like Rukia, I'm also starting to think that Rukia doesn't deserve his love because she's too stupid and will go for freakin Ichigo @$$^%$^... SORREYY Ichigo rooters, I'm just pissed at the moment, I don't really hate him but right now yes! Although, I do admit that with Bya is pretty h0t. Hmmm... Renji and a real h0t girl who's got the atittude and who's got him whipped.... so so delectable... imagine the smut in that.... OK I SHUT UP NOW!

I think Zabimaru the snake and baboon suit him very well since the snake's the asshole side (which we all know he can be) and the baboon is the wiser side. He's a combination of both. Hey guys come to think of it, Renji's NOT an idiot like so many people like to think he is (not that I ever thought he was an idiot, but you know sometimes, he's got me so conviced ;)). Yeah, like so many ppl out there think he's a total bumpkin which he TOTALLY isn't. I don't know if I can use the fact that he's in the advanced class in the Shinigami Academy as an example but if it counts then that proves he's even very smart. I think it does take some level of intelligence to be accepted into the advanced class and not just reiatsu... remember when the teacher said this class is for the students who scored exceptionnally high at the examinations. Oh dear Renji being smart is such a total turn-on... ooh! And even the way he explains things to people, you just know the guy knows what he's talking about. Renjiiii marry meeeeeee! with the tattoos and bankai clothing of renji, the baboon and snake would be representatives of shamanism (although i've never seen them on one animal. i think that's tite's creation)
in shamanism, the baboon's wisdom is defense of family and the baboon is sacred to the god thoth (wisdom), while thoth, himself, is sometimes portrayed as a baboon in the judgement hall in the land of the dead. the snake's wisdom is primitive energy, creative power, transmutation, elusiveness, manipulation of lightening, and a few others. with those in mind, i think that's why the baboon comes across as wise and loyal and the snake as "come on, come on, you idiot!"

I know the subject of Renji's tattoos has been tackled countless numbers of times but I have a weird and pointless theory that I'd like to share with all of you (heh!) after reading Pansa's last post. Now, I think we all agree that Renji's tattoos are manifestations of his soul-cutter's power and therefore manifestations of his soul's power on his body. If we assume this to be true, then that means that it is an innate quality of his, through bloodline (naruto, anyone?) versus him tattoing himself every morning...(the idea is frustratingly funny!) Renji's beautiful and intricate tattoos remind me of the Maori in New Zealand who (correct me if I'm wrong) tattoo themselves for purposes of war. Now, woudn't it be so amazingly neat if Renji were part of a long lost clan of incredibly powerful and feared "sorcerers/warriors" and that his long lost father, the Shaman King (heh again!) told his son Renji (heh!) that he wasn't using his full potential and far from it and that once he does he could be as powerful as Ichigo (or more...)? He would be totally BADASSSSS! Renji... warrior...flowy...hair... red... powerful... muscles... tattoos... Renji... flowy... warrior... *collapses*
And then there could be this gorgeous warrior princess since he'd be a prin... WARRIOR PRINCE ABARAI RENJIIIIIIII........... *dies*

shinigamis don't choose what kind of power or "personality" their swords have, right? and each one is unique and has been with the person since birth, right? therefore, their shikai and bankai would be rooted in their genetics or blood and take shape according to it. So, for renji, a heritage or bloodline coming from a warrior clan would give him animal spirits (to guide and fight with him) and tattoos as he progressed in battle.
and yes, rs, the images (in my head from your post) are delicious ~.~ maybe i should try to put renji in a warrior's outfit, you know, two flaps of an animal hide and that's it. kubo tite, i need to see his legs!! i wonder if the tattoos go down his legs, yet. *hmm, goes off mumbling and devising plans*

Yeah I didn't get into Renji until episode 55 hehe, yeah my brain took some time to process his FULL beauty. After that, I just kept rewatching earlier episodes of Bleach JUST to spot the episodes where Renji graced the screen (yup tht's bad) and realized he is one HOT Abarai in 18. He's wearing his pink kimono or yukata (plz correct me) and he's walking in the corridors on his day off to visit Rukia in her cell and she makes fun of him being a VC and his eyebrows, it's priceless really.

got a question, just finished watching the episode 64, and it's shown that renji's in gigai.. doesn't it reduce his power like in rukia's case?

i'm not sure, but don't think so, urahara tenchou, if renji being in a gigai reduces his power. in rukia's case, she had lost/given her power to ichigo, that's why she was weak, as well as having that other "thing" inside her. isn't urahara in a gigai? and he's still pretty strong.
anyone else have some insight?
and i'm still downloading the ep, so i can't do any fangirl screams for renji yet ;p

But I thought Rukia said they only used gigai's when they were recovering their power aka they lost it and now they need to build it back up. Which would mean that Renji is weak right now, but only temporarily...unless he's in one for a different reason...

i watched ep 64 today. renji the sidekick that gets teased by everyone! some of it was funny, like him trying to get out of his gigai! funky clothes, though. hopefully, this means we'll get to see lots of renji action! yay!!!

Hmm interesting. I think Renji unlike Rukia isn't recovering due to weakness. He's just lounging around as he is the one to watch over Karakura Town (sorry if I spoiled you but I assumed you guys knew :( ) At first I was asking myself why he needed a gigai when he could have just remained in his shinigami form like the other shinigami townwatchers but then I realized something. Why do shinigamis use gigais in the first place? Coz they'll be staying on earth a while right? Either for research puposes or to regain their strength or maybe for a mission. So, this means that Renji will be staying for a while! WOOHOOO!! I love the Renji crack! He's SOOO beautiful with his braids!! Anyway, I loved the fact that the episode was almost all Renji!! I can't wait to see more of him!!!

Aww thanks!! I thought I'd share what my eyes beheld! LOL! And yeah when it comes to Renji, MORE is always better!! BTW, saw eps 66, personally I find the animation was much better since (in my opinion) they made Renji look "ugly" (yeah I KNOW! How is that even possible but they DID! The criminals!) but in 66, I was content and 67, he looks like his GOLDLY self!

I don't know what's going on with the fillers! In another thread they said that there will be two 1hr-special consecutively following next week's and that the filler arc will end to get back to the manga. But what will happen to Our Renji??? That will mean he's gonna leave

Just curious... did everyone here like Renji right away or did it take some time or again did it HIT you? Just wondering which eps or when you guys started liking Renji. Curious to know coz as unbelievable as this may sound, I HATED him for a while until it struck me that he was.... WOW!

I think the realization came to me on eps 56, he wasn't IN it but I watched that eps after I saw 55 (which he was in and he was so GORGEOUS!) and it just struck me that although he introduced himself on the show as an asshole, he has this unbelievably caring side. The battle between him and Byakuya was AMAZING.
