Queston about Chad and Orihime.

Im watching the anime and havent read the manga yet and So far in the anime they seem too weak to do much of anything. In the manga past the anime stage have they become useful and more powerful or are they the weak backup characters to ichigo?

Yeah Chad does become more powerful and can probably be compared to an average [or slightly above] captain level Shinigami, although Orihime mostly remains the same but her powers are interesting to Aizen as she was able to use her powers to grow back an Arrancar's missing arm [when Aizen asked her to] and thus Aizen wants to use her powers for something which I don't think has been revealed yet

Yea, Chads power does become more powerful and we learn more about Orihimes power, although her power remains about the same.

orihime doesnt really have much use in my opinion...except maybe to heal people...

Don't believe me? Ask Aizen. He'll tell you just how useful she can be ;)

Also, her powers increase after training with Rukia, as we see she healed Ichigo's wrist without even meaning to. She just caressed it... ET VOILA

And Chad... he becomes pretty useful too, if I do say so.
