There's no real way to tell yet... not much is shown about his power except for the fact that he can handle 2 captain level opponents. I wouldn't doubt the fact that he's the strongest out of all captains though. Yamamoto also has more experience than Ichigo.. much much more experience so that's what would put him at a disadvantage. Ichigo usually just runs in without thinking and just swings his sword, but Yama most likely analyzes his opponent carefully which would lead to Ichigo's downfall.

It's possible that by the end of the anime Ichigo will be the stronegst, but I doubt it.

I think that Yamamoto would still be more powerful, at least until another couple of thausands of years pass and Ichigo trains a little more (a "little" :D).

I would say that he is. Like Yvese and Undying said, Yama was fighting two captains and when we saw them again they both were bleading while Yama was looking like he just had spanked a baby. And they are two of the strongest Captains.
And brining down a VC on all four just by staring should count for something. I really hope we see him go all out on someone, maybe Ulquiorra :p since Ichigo will probably fight Aizen.

i dont get it... so what if theres experiences vaizards. the vaizards knew about aizen from the beginning and did nothing about it even though aizen was JUST captain class. (theres like a dozen of them too) face it guys, when aizen say shinigamies have a limit, he never told us how high that limit is.

being a hybird upgrade your potential (what you can be) and a boost in strength, it doesnt mean your power level jump that high. oh, wasnt HM under aizen's command even before the whole rukia incident? didnt hitsugaya says there was actually some arrancars even before urahara made "whatever its called"?

Both the top Arrancaru and the Vaizards, and in my opinion Aizen, are stronger than old man Yama. Hollow Ichigo could, after all, stop Byukuya's bankai with a bare hand. That takes some power.

I think Yamamoto needs to get some more cred. Think about it Aizen steals the hologoku thing. and is working with the hollows right. So he probably wants to make sure he can destroy the soul society 1st. I think Aizen himself can take down most captains but I bet just a guess that Yamamoto is so powerful that he had to escape and become stronger himself to over throw soul society. I think his appreance makes him look frail then he dose what master roshi did in dragon ball looks frail then gets pumped up and looks like a ball player on steroids. And has a fire sword which is cool.

yup like everyone else i would think that yamamoto is prob the most powerful...but eventually when ichigo trains and becomes more powerful, he might be able to defeat yamamoto because he is also a vaizard..though i doubt they will ever fight

Well i don't actually think that he is the most strongest. I mean just because he is captain commander and did find soul society isn't anything. I think that Aizen is the strongest right after he got the hogyouku (or however u speel it) I mean he did stop Ichigo's bankai with one hand which is very impressive. Not just any captain or shinigami can do that. Also lets not forget about the King of Soul Society you nvr know if he's stronger So yea Yamamoto might not be the strongest of all.

That old man banned the use of hollow powers by any of his students
and EVERYONE that has attained them has ran away. Urahara and friends
feared the punishment that yamma would hand them as they stood a zero
of chance, the vaizards hate them but don't dare to kill a captain, Aizen as
well had to run away to experiment with arrancars in a safeguard.
The hard rigid training yamma goes through to keep that body daily will

Yeah, grandfisher was not fully developed, but in addition he was not even menos. Just a regular hollow. All the other arrancars to come will be at least menos, most of them even greater beings.

I'm not going to try to change your opinion but you make it sound like Shunsui and Ukitake are two of the weakest captains with "Seriously, if he can't pwn those two quickly, then something is wrong." If he really wanted to pwn them he would just have gone bankai and finnished it.

And that is not a fact, we never saw that fight, Yamamoto could have just played around hitting them when he liked or he could have had a hard time we don't know, but it's not a Fact that he could not pwn them it's just what you think. To me they looked beat up with blood on their forhead.

Aizen could definitely w/o a shadow of a doubt beat Yamamoto. I believe that a Naruto comparison must now unfortunately be drawn, so don't look if you have not seen most of the Naruto anime:
Just like the Third Hokage died fighting against Orochimaru, I believe that Yamamoto will die fighting against Aizen, only lose a lot faster and without doing much damage to Aizen. He will fight to protect Soul Society, just like the Third fought to protect Konoha.

Aizen is unstoppable at the moment and Yamamoto will not be the person to stop him (though he may try), but he is the most powerful person in Soul Society.
