Ok people... Here's the thing.. I'm currently in the market looking for a laptop/notebook... is there any good ones out right now that you would recommend? =\
I don't mind either AppleMac's or PC's
I'm a multimedia person and yes, I store heaps of music and images
i'll ask you now.. do you store alot of file or pics? or like to download alot of programs? just to let others know if ur a big laptop or a small laptop person.

I had to wait a few years for mine, cause until last year what I wanted wasn't existant yet ;)
I got an HP dv8320CA model, and the feature it had that I wanted is 17" widescreen, dual core cpu, nvidia go 7600 with 256 dedicated ram on the chip (with an additional 256 shared), wireless network as well as RJ45 and modem, and it plays HL2 smoothly. Was affordable ($1500 before tax), and battery life is just above the 2 hour range since its got the 8 cell battery.
Customize one or look for cheap prebuilt ones, avoid Dell though :P.
Since you are multimedia, its pretty easy. Decent amount of HD, probably 1 GB is enough unless you are doing some image/video editing, then probably more ram and a decent processor. Also, I recommend using external HD then using a huge laptop internal HD since those are insanely expensivee

Wow! You guys have great ideas... I will look into them =)
DB - Yeah I agree, Dell's batteries are blah!
I was thinking of getting Dell coz they're known as the best in customisation.
1 GB is no where near enough actually and I don't really want to get an ext. HD, but I'll think about it.
I don't mind about the price atm coz I really need one for school and other stuff.
I will most likely store heaps and heaps of music as well as images =\
I got one which came out recently last year. It's a Toshiba Satellite A-100. You normally get the black silver ones but I got a pearl white one. It's 15" widescreen, 200gb, centrino duo, windows vista capable, DVD-Ram and harman/kardon speakers ^__^. Getting an external is good too. I have 200gb on mine so all together 400GB O_O

Was unclear, i meant 1 GB of RAM. 1 GB of HD, yeah right. External because it cheaper and you can swap HDs
