The coolest in my book is Yamada Hanatarou. He is always good for a laugh and has ubelievable luck. Guy should of been dead 10x over, but always comes out, comically of couse, just fine.

i thought kon was the coolest character in the early episodes. shame kon has played such a small and meager role since then. i thought he was gonna kick some hollows' ass with ichigo once in a while. it feels like kon was just made as a joke character. although i thought he was cool because he was funny "fight me now ichigo!!! gaaah you're huge!!! no i'm tiny!! gaaah my hands are fluffy!!" but i seriously expected kon to play a larger better role than he does now

He's cool in both meanings. He's frozen, strong willed, emotionless, and yet he's not a complete emotionless chap, he can easily feel. He's just strong willed enough to make sure his feelings don't interefere with his judgement.

Grimmjow:

I don't like the Zaraki like attitude, but when he goes emo, he's the best. Gloomy, yet good looking and cold. Can there be better?

Ryuuken:

He's badass, and he knows it. He's deadly, and he knows it. And with all that, he's still as calm as a pond.

Just lame. He's not surprising anyone, he's boring, and his attitude is annoying.

coolest?! that's easy, assuming you mean demeanor and attitude:

isshin, kyoraku and uruhara... you can't tell me you wouldn't want to hang out with those guys.

if you said, who is the most powerful, who has the best bankai, who is more menacing, who is the most collected, who is the most honorable, etc.... I would have agreed with some of the above characters. most notably, gin, aizen, kuchiki, hitsugaya, zaraki, etc.

i can't believe no one mentioned ichigo (best bankai IMO), kon (funny as hell), yoruichi (now that's a bad, bad b!tch... in more ways than one), isshin, or kyoraku (cool as hell but up til now pretty lame fights and seemingly useless).

Zangetsu would be my first most-favorite character because he's a bad-ass.
Zaraki Kenpachi is my second most-favorite character because he's such a freaking psycho at times and it's awesome.
And then Ichigo/Ogihci is my third most favorite characters. I determine this by who I'd want to cosplay the most, the Zangetsu cosplay is nearly complete =D.
