It's not an addiction to fighting... It's an addiction to crack. He fights because the crack makes him feel like he has to.
All joking aside, I'd say that Kenpachi's life revolves around fighting. It's not his addiction - it's who he is.

Actually I fail to understand the point as well... "why is Kenpachi so addicted to fight"? That's not what the first post says. The first post says... uh, wait, I can't understand what you're saying, really.

Basically Why does Kenpachi love to fight?
And he drop's the word 'crack' in there to compare kenpachi's love of fighting to a drug so that it'll give the addiction a real life similarity.
I think that yumichika(The preety boy in 11th squad) said that they're all gonna die someday so just die doing smething they love-fighting. So there's the downfall bit coverd.
Why does he love to fight? Probably because he's been in so many of them. After a while if all your doing is fighting, then you start to become acustomed to it and like it. It'd be the same if you started running-after a while you'd start liking it and want to run more and more.
Kenpachi zaraki has perfected his fighting style so that he has fun while fighting. It's basically his 'running' (in the above example). That's my bet.

Most of the people that fought against Kenpachi, have been told by him that he lost his mind and he lives to fight. Maybe something happened in the past that caused him to lose his mind. Besides Kenpachi doesnt need a reason to fight, he wins and thats all that's needed, another reason he doesnt have a Bankai after the fact that he doesnt know the name of his Zanpakutoh may be because of the fact that he doesnt have the resolve that his sword needs to achieve it.

Zaraki's mindset is quite understandable, if you know where he came from. He came from the district "Zaraki", which was the worst slum of them all. Death and carnage was a common occurrence there. Considering the amount of despair the inhabitants must have gone through, it isn't surprising that an individual would stand up with a mindset capable of resisting despair.
Zaraki is like he is, because instinctively, he chose the best way of dealing with death and despair. And that's by becoming as strong as a demon, exulting that death or fear of death has no power over him. He seeks out the power to become UNKILLABLE. He challenges death constantly, because one can only know that death or despair has no power over him by directly facing it. He seeks greater challenges in an attempt to become even stronger, strong enough to face any challenge that exist in life that might bring another down.

it is because zaraki love's fighting more than anything else... he started fighting even when he was young... he loves being cut and cut somebody... he got this reason... " why not fight if you are strong" and " what's the use of power if you don't use it"

I think why Zaraki likes to fight so much is because he is strong and he knows it. And he just loves that sense of achivement when he defeats someone who is strong. So, the reason, I think, he enjoys the fight is because he feels that he is overcoming the obstacles and getting nearere to his goal.(:

For me Zaraki is fighting like he is now is because that.... He is good at it and would rather think of it as a game rather than a real fight.... as he said and i quote "Death and pain are the prices that you pay to fight" i cant remember the exact words but I think I hit the idea of what he said..
Plus the fact that Zaraki is an excellent fighter coupled with a humungous reitsu which will make him virtually impossible to cut to most of his enemies... namely the weak ones.. Make him a very strong enemy.. Take a look at this... Some people here may be a gamer or even just good in sports. So if you are really good at it that it seems that you are unbeatable you seem to crave more and more... To test the level of your skill and to see who can really beat you.. Thats the same with Zaraki since he wants to fight people who are strong hence he enjoyed it when Ichigo was able to hear his bells, survive his reitsu, was able to cut him and soon defeated him.
Now Zaraki wants a rematch but I dont think it would be a good fight since Ichigo has Bankai now....

That'd be why it's good.
in my opinion, kenpachi's drive to fight may be somewhat connected to his past, we all know that he wants to get more stronger and when ichigo defeated him the first time i think thats what started his eagerness to fight and fight, just to beat and surpass ichigo :p

Hmm you got a point there. Since that he would want to get strong en all.. plus he wants a good fight. So the perfect and best way to get stronger is to fight someone stronger than you.

Just like what the others said, Kenpachi's life revolves around fighting. It is what he is good at. Nothing else is important to him (except maybe Yachiru) but fighting. It is fighting and bloodshed that makes him who he is. Everything else is secondary.

You've gotta love Zaraki for being so bloodthirsty. I've seen several characters in games and anime that are like him. A part of me is like him. I'm not as insane as him. I would never back down from a challenge plus you would have to knock me unconscious to get me to stop fighting.:headbang

He's like.. Lucca Blight with a Reiatsu!
Then again, he's a lot like Lucca Blight. Lucca had no magical abilities at all, and was easily the strongest character in any Suikoden game ever. The same with Kenpachi, he's all strength (reiatsu), with no zampakuto skill.
