do you really think that the soul society is a "good" place

this has been bothering me for a while now, when we first start the series rukia says that the soul society is a good place for souls to go. but when they actually get there we learn the truth that its more of a refugee city with lots of violence and familys rarely even get to be together.

do you think that its really a good place, or is the place we see in the area right before they enter the soul society just a point where souls rest to move on to something different.

Is it really that bad? Well, if you are unlucky enough to end up in district 80, bad luck. As it goes, its much better than wandering around in the real world and keep running from hollows.

You have to consider that there is not much discovered of Hueco Mundo yet, so it could turn in anything!!!

Being in Heuco Mundo would be more rough, I wouldn't like being led by any of the Espada... especially Yami, since he wouldn't mind killing one of his kin to test his strength.

Soul Society... is not paradise, true, but it offers opportunities to souls such as becoming a shinigami, and you're practically safe.

Soul society's a place just like the real world, except that they have shinigamis. It's something like having royal families who take care of an area while disregarding a section of the area (where the poor people live).

I don't really know if it's a good or bad place..I think it's both depending on where the soul ends up I guess.

Soul Society IS NOT in any way a second chance so that you can go to heaven. Knowing the religious belief of Japan, there is no concept of a final paradise where you stay forever. Reincarnation is part of Japanese faith. That is the mechanism by which Soul Society works. You die on Earth, you go to Soul Society and live again. You die in Soul Society, you go to Earth and live again.


As for the King being in heaven, I think they mistranslated the word or at least misinterpreted it. The king lives on a higher plane which in many cultures is heaven but not in Japanese faith where a real heaven does not exist.

Well Soul Society isn't paradise but its generally viewed as a good place as Rukia said since there the people are well protected by the Death Gods. Though danger is still ever present, its much less dangerous than in Hueco Mundo. From what I've seen, only Hollows can live in Hueco Mundo and if you're a plus soul and you are dragged into Hueco Mundo, you become a Hollow yourself.

really what i think is that ss is a great place (compared) to roaming around earth chased by hollow being eaten by one because its pretty much impossible to run away from one while being in that form. i also think though that ss is kindve out of wack. some opf the people there are really idiots. and it really shines on the good people and hurts there lives in ss.:whatevah:

Going to Soul Society seems to be horrible. I wouldnt want to live in that dirt filled mudpit scrounging in dirt and fleas like a medieval beggar. I'd prefer to be a Hollow, and thats saying something!

Is soul socitey good? Hell no. It was invaded several times by the bounto and ichigo and freinds. besdies, the technology in SS is low so there is no electricity...no computers,no air conditioners etc. the houses seem a bit old too >.>

Granted, there are rough places and nice places. Even outside of the Seireitei there's beautiful countryside and certainly the potential to be happy and successful. In general it seems like a fairly free and laid back place so long as you don't go into the rougher parts of town... Which seem to be clearly marked (by smell, I'd guess.)

to sum up, the only thing the Soul Society really lacks compaired to the real world is widespread technology. And what little technology there is seems to be powered by magic.

there ARE computers. Soul society is alot more high tech than you think. Arrancar sensing equipment and such. If you take the filler as canon, 13th division has a whole computer room.

And soul society has some pretty bad defences anyway.

Hueco Mundo looks like a nice place to visit for meditation, if you stay away from the locals. And Las Noches makes the Seireitei look like a quaint little village...

SS aint that bad, you either gotta become a shinigami, or become a bandit (or a shinigami bandit, like i would). other than that, you just gotta learn to have fun without a computer/tv screen to stare at, which isnt hard.
it aint paradise, but it isnt hell either

I think that the Soul Society would be great... it's a chance to start a new life and in a few years you being there of less you could join the Shinigami academy and be apart of one of the 13 divisions . thats my reason for thinking its great.
