I'm really liking the new music they were playing towards the end of the arrnacar fight. It has a latin feel to it which is appropriate considering everything associated with the arrnacar seems to have a spanish name.

This is the best episode yet comming out of the non-filler arc. I though a lot of the fight looked amazing and there were moments watching it when I just thought awesome, this is the old Bleach back in all its glory!
I would have thought that the Cero was a white + blue but thats a minor complaint. Generally I thought the fight was top notch definately the first rush Ive had watching a bleach episode in a long time. Animation also I thought was really awesome for MOST of the beggining of the show up to where the battle ended.

Unfortunatly I hated the filler. 1 minute of Yoruichi eating? Alright we get it, she eats a lot. Dead air time in my opinion. Some scenes after that just strecthed (obvious filler). I guess knowing everything from the Manga dulls some of the impact of characters showing up but the later half of the episode is definately a bit of a dud.

Overall though pretty good episode and I really think the style and animation was right up there. Sure there were shots that looked dodgy, but Im willing to forgive those in the light of the amazing animation of the fight, even if it is a little different than the Manga.

They didn't show Ichigo cutting off Yammi's arm, Yammi wasn't bleeding at all, and niether was Inoue, now in the Manga she was looking fucked up, it makes me think that this arc won't be done any justice

I thought this episode was pretty cool, didn't notice anything wrong with the animation, just gotta wait for it to be subbed by DB... Renji, Yumichika, Hitsugaya, Rukia, Matsumoto and Ikkaku have arrived at Ichigo's high school! One of my favourite parts of the Arrancar arc lol Only some slight differences from the manga but I didn't mind that much

They did it differently in the anime

In the manga they showed Ichigo already in the air behind Yammi after he takes off, and you see the ring of the "cut" on yammi's arm. That was an awesome scene - and they omitted it >.>"

Also they did the best scene of the ep diff too:

the moment Ulquiorra blocks Urahara's attack. Diff angle, diff effect. It didn't convey the impact needed, that he blocked such a powerful attack

Maybe we should take the video and add our own effects. I could probably doodle a few scenes to stick into the parts that weren't done like in the manga ;) maybe we could add some sparkles and have Urahara scream like a girl when Ulquiorra does his thing.

Haha. Overall, I liked the episode. The lack of blood really po'ed me, though. What, did they run out of money in the Red Colour budget? If Yammi just made me spit up, I'd still go after him.

I thought the episode was good. The animation was great, on par with the SS arc for me. My one big gripe is the censoring of the violence of this arc. Chad's arm was supposed to be torn off and in three pieces last episode. Ichigo and Inoue were also nowhere near as messed up as they were in the manga. Bleh...

The arrancar do look powerful though. Yammy's punches make craters in the ground like they should. His cero was also red like I thought it would be. I agree with everyone that the scene with Ulquiorra was done wrong. The wave should've suddenly been dispersed with emoboy's face appearing in the dispersing energy. Now that would be badass. He did come off like the monster he is though.

I don't know about you guys, but this fight was AMAZING. The slick animation(kinda like Afro samurai), the brutal beatings to both Ichigo and Inoue(yes I said Inoue), jesus. I could care less about blood, the camera movement made the beatings really realistic. I don't know about u but I felt those beats XD

Personally, I thought the animation was great. Since I don't remember the scene from the manga, I thought the scene where ulquiorra blocks urahara's attack was done very well, they even washed out the colors a little bit to emphasize the intensity of the energy, I think some people are just hung up on it being different.
Also LOVE the expression on ulquiorra's face right after he punches yami, it's just like "wow, way to screw up, sigh". That combined with the new latin-style music made that exit scene really stand out.
Speaking of that, it looks like everyone's fears that they didn't have very much new music for this arc were unfounded, I think I heard at least three new songs, and they were all quite good.

I'm glad we got to see Urahara and Yoruichi again, it was nice to see him face Yammy and Ulquiorra.

enjoyed the episode and whilst things were different in the manga the arm scene still had the idea that ichigo had moved at his true bankai speed not his filler bankai speed, even though we didn't see it.
thought the art was perfect they got ichigo right as he seems more muscular as you'd expect not really skinny like everyone was last ep.

Golden Cup was awesome unohana is now one of my favorite captains.

Animation quality is awesome now, Ichigo is now Ichigo and the others are the other, tho Rukia's face seemed messed up.
Only one thing I missed and that was the guys entrance, in the manga it was shown better, together with the "xx,xx,xx................ Tousshiiiroo?".

I still hated the same thing here, as in the manga, WHY CANT RUKIA USE THE FEKKIN DOOR? Is she some retard who can only climb up to the window in a gigai (so everyone can see her) just so she can act all cool an mighty?

Good episode, awesome to see Urahara confronting enemies, and using his wonderful benihime. The fact that he stopped a cero with his zanpaktou doesn't suprise me at all, and about the quality .. great that they've started to working on it again, Ulqiorra is not to play with, expected to see him in action but .. hheheh all in all GOOOOD episode

After watching the episode I'm honestly blown away at the animation and quality put into it. Everything was portrayed accurately from the manga as well. But there were the expected elongated scenes to fill time (WTF @ Yoruichi eating for 1:20 almost. Yeah, it's fine to streach it out but why so long?) Overall this has to be one of my favorite episodes of the whole series as of now.

As a bit of a side note: Ulquiorra had a bit of a smirk to him right after he stopped Urahara's attack and hit Yami. He's better suited to have a stone-cold face rather than that little bit of arrogance. Still, it's not a huge deal, it just seemed odd.

Yammy's hierro (steel skin) hurt her. Imagine doing everything Yoruichi did to Yammy but to a brick wall. Sure you might break a couple of bricks but you're sure to have injured yourself.

I did like this episode but I really thought it was much better in the manga. I can't exactly explain why. And the part with Yoruichi eating was waaay to long. It's like they were just wasting time but the Shinigami cup part was funny. They ate bonnie-chan! And Unohana caught it! I would have loved to see that :D

I'd agree that the manga is better, since it's the way KT intended it to be.

But the anime was great, it was nice seeing some beatdowns by Yoruichi and the part where Ulquorria gives Yami the fist was awesome.

I think the ~1 minute of Yoruichi eating was stupid though...

The loong Yoruichi eating was probably put in because they couldnt give back what the manga gave...who knows why, they thought this would be funny, and it was, at the fourth bowl, not so much on the fith, the sixth, the seventh...

Also, now when I watched it for the second time (stuff like this, watching an episode twice didnt happen for quite a while lol) I just noticed how epic the cero-urahara and the leaving part was :)
Details like turning everything black and white when Ulquiorra negates Benihime's attack, or just the simple handmoves he punched Yammi, and especially the music that was put in at the perfect point...oh how great anime is this. :D

That was a great episode the best in a while. I really like the music (*coughi'mcoughspanishcough*) man i was watching it and my mom walked in when it was on Rangiku's boobs and i was like oh Sh**. This episode had some action finally and the whole eating thing was weird cuz i thought something with my comp but it was to fill in time so whatever. I liked the Shinigami's cup hahah they ate Bonnie-Chan hahaha.

although I would have still preffered more scenery than yoruichi's stomach (she really is a pig from those kid's expressions and poor Tessai slaving that many meals over a hot stove) then again even the scenes require precise timing, this junk can easily be stuffed in so I don't mind.

Best of all now Ulquiorra has to return and meet that face of Grimm's :redbiggri

wow pretty good episode imo. bankai within the first 2min, getting to see urahara and yuorichi fight, was happy i got to see more of uraharas benhime!!!

This episode was really good. The animation in this episode was amazing. I'm glad that they made Ichigo going into Bankai a little more dramatic. I thought it was a waste of time seeing Yoruichi eating because it was getting very annoying. At first, it was funny, but after a couple of seconds it was just dumb. I really can't wait until they show Grimmjow and the fight against Ichigo!

Yeah, it's actually supposed to be blood. The violence level of this arc has been really toned down. Chad's arm was supposed to have been ripped off and in pieces, Ichigo was supposed to be bathing in his own blood, and that backhand Yammy give Inoue crushed that side of her head in the manga. It was basically a mangled bloody pulp.

I'm disappointed in the self imposed censorship they're putting on themselves. The violence level has gone down since the Bount Arc, and now we just have spit getting knocked out of people.

Poor Undying. He's going to be so upset with the outcome of the

Grimjaw and Rukia fight. Having a hole punched through her with the resulting blood loss would definitely put a smile on his face.

I didn't mind the fact that the characters were drooling everywhere. I was more aggrevated at how long the eating scene dragged out. It would've been more funny if Yorouchi (sp?) was more barbaric with her eating (ie. lina inverse from slayers), I s'pose it's the only way we can stay with the manga arcs without adding too many filler episode, by dragging out random scenes here and there I mean. Anyone notice how the 3 mod souls are always involved one way or another with adding useless screentime?

but wat i think is. he is near uruhara's reaitsu and power but not tat good. uruhara sets his benhime at a lower pace against yammi knowing his weaker i guess.

When I first read the manga, I thought ulquiorra was completely emotionless, but after watching this episode and looking at some of the manga pages again, he definitely has an ego on him. Lashing out and decking yami just because he was embarrassing him isn't something a cold, calculating character would do. He also has to keep his bravado up when he leaves, if he was truly deadpan, he wouldn't care what yoruichi thought of him. So basically, his personality is a lot like grimmjow's except he hides it better, because he likes to look badass all the time.

Took me a while to download this episode for some reason but now that I've watched it... I thought this episode was pretty awesome, liked the way how they showed Ichigo struggling with his Hollow side, also liked the Shinigami Cup Golden lol I think some of those are canon so I am assuming that Ganju's boar is dead now unless Unohana killed a different one lol Should be seeing Grimmjow pretty soon so thats awesome too

on a related note, WTH was ichigo spitting out when he was getting his ass kicked during the last half of that fight between the Arrancar? it wasn't blood that's for sure.........for some reason i think they animated saliva during that part when he was getting knocked around. i would post a screenshot to describe what i'm talking about, but for some reason virtualdubmod is refusing to open up the video files for some reason.

Arrancar have hierro skin (basically spanish for iron). You try kicking and punching with the force Yoruichi did to a man that has iron skin.

As for the "I'll have to take your arm line" leaving it in would make Ichigo seem more badass but I think parental prudishness doesn't like "an eye for an eye" (in this case an arm for an arm) being taught to preteen kids.

Its funny how Japan doesn't give a damn about bouncing huge breasts in a kids show but dislikes people threatening others with bodily harm. So unlike the USA (the exact opposite actually).
