its been a long time but heres something new. its so hard to say the right thing even when you have so many words to choose from isnt it?

for small talk and comfortable banter,
but all you have is a piercing eloquence
that misses the heart of the matter.
you talk proper like you know the language
of intimacy and understanding,
launching yourself into webs of conceit-
self construed no less.
your superfluous syntax destroys
what fragile hints she tries to drop,
yet you remain oblivious of the divulgent paths
of conversation;
she sways left whilst you go right.
you are three words short of a confession,
opting for an essay of ideals
which reveal nothing more than the fact
that you have no knack for communication.
it's far too late to realize now,
that simple words hold together what your
complexity sets apart.
