That's right, I was amazed as you're when I read this, a FireFox 3 Alpha in stage 2! But FireFox 2 has only just come out!!!
Firefox 3 Alpha 2 - Mozilla's latest pre-release version of its browser remains buggy, but performance enhancements give us reason to get excited.
To put it simply, I'm amazed on how fast they starting developing it. I mean, Firefox 2 has still got some bugs but to start working on 3 so soon! Wow... gonna be sweet though.

Thats pretty nice to see Mozilla updating their products so soon. I'm a fan of Firefox, so I'm quite happy to hear this, unlike Microsoft, god knows when Internet Explorer 8 is going to come out. Probably when the next OS after Vista or something like that.
I heard that Firefox 3 is going to be released somewhere in May this year.
IE 7 isnt that oldd xD No reason to make 8 yet, since they got to perfect 7 first. Alpha is only alpha, not worth touching I guess. I hope it reduces ram usage.

IE7 needs 2-3 SP's before they develop the IE8. and don't forget the 400,000,000,000,000,000 security updates.

I think they need to provide security updates for IE7. If Microsoft wants people to use their "perfect" browser, they need to supply at least monthly updates, not once in a while. Look at IE6, hardly any updates in the past, one lousy service pack and took 5 years to develop both Vista and IE7 which I think is a joke.

I hate that stupid "Click here to activate control" thingy in IE. that's why i turn to the FireFox Side XD. But something i hate about Firefox, when i was downloading a MMORPG, it stopped at 11Megs. So i was forced to downloaded it off from IE. Either it's me or sumthing is wrong with FF.

^^ Best if you use a download manager. It happens to me in both IE and Firefox and I hate it, Plus using a download manager makes your downloads much faster. I use Internet Download Manager, its one of the fatest download accelerators out there.

Wow, FF3 already? That's idiotic. FF2.0 still has MAJOR bugs/flaws especially when it comes to leaking memory. For a good long time I was using IE instead of FF because of this.

Well surely (or hopefully) major bugs/flaws won't occur in Version 3.

does one of the 'bugs' of firefox2 include frequent crashing? i recall i didn't have this problem before the latest update.
firefox 3 looks pretty good. Theyre updating the whole core to gecko so it should pass the acid2 test, which brings its css compatibility to the same level as opera. Its also updating how it handles POSTDATA so hopefully we wont see the messages that warn us that we are gonna send form data again.

Well, they did need a complete redesign. Considering that they've used the same basic browser core from Mozilla (anyone remember Mozilla Web Browser 1.1?) to Firebird to Firefox.

I never had any problems since I've upgraded to 2.0.0.1, the latest version. The only problem I had with 2.0.0.0 was some images and banners wouldn't load up on certain webpages, but I haven't encountered that on 2.0.0.1.
Its a good thing that Mozilla is upgrading and updating their products. I personally can't wait for the final release of version 3.

No issues with 2.0.0.1 either.

FireFox ain't ever crashed on me so far. I found it weird to see links to Minefield (as it was dubbed at the time) the day after FF2 was released but since there was a new build like, everyday, it seemed kinda pointless to have the link available to anyone 'cept the testers.
