We'll see when the next Intel Channel Conference comes.....

I think i left out a few things.

All PC's have Corsair brandname ram, RX93 and KamiKaze have the XMS, while Bleach only has Value Select. Connection type to the Internet is Cable. Operating Systems: Slackware 10 on all of them, RX93 has FreeBSD 5.3, KamiKaze has Gentoo which is in the process of updating world, no Windows here. >=)

Drive2: 52x CD-RW Drive
Hard drive: 40 Gig HD

I really need to get a new processor, maybe an AMD 64, because my comp is slowing down, and im buying a 160GB hard drive in a bit. I may need to go buy a new computer soon...it's so sad how fast computers become obsolete. The next one i buy is having dual processors though.

I need to get an upgrade, this hardware is more than 2 years old at this stage and web/graphic design is becoming a chore with all the background tasks (downloading, playing music, messanger progs, etc) and only 512MB ram...

still,

AMD XP2000+
512MB RAM :(
360GB HDD space (no matter how much I knock it up by it's never enough)
DVD-RW (to combat the space issue)
Geforce4 Ti4400 (grand considering I don't play pc games :P)
5.1 Surround
19" Monitor

and a gigantic UPS that I have yet to justify owning.

1ghz AMD Athlon

Linux 2.6.11 (cko version, because its soooooo much faster ^_^) running the KDE 3.4 desktop (because I like unnecessary eye candy).

You can see the status of things on my system page, http://soupsites.info/cpu - it loads my system info the second you load the page *gasp!*

The longest it ever lasted on battery power was around 3 hours.

It isn't pretty of flashy but it gets the job done and I am very happy with it for the price I paid. The only problems this computer has ever given me were of my own creation really, in all its a real good machine.

Well, I will list the ones that I watch anime on and use daily.

Personal: (The, I wanna rip/encode/burn/administrate/etc...comp)
AMD 3400+ (newcastle)
2GB Corsair Value PC3200
ABIT KV8 PRO
MSI GEFORCE 5950
2x SATA Samsung 160GB HD...RAID 0
ROSEWILL DVD-BURNER
SOME OTHER ADD-IN CARDS
As of today, I backed up and am waiting on another raid solution. I am looking at upgrading the drives to the raptors, and getting a RAID card capable of taking advantage of the Tagged Command Queuing features built into the raptors, since this pc also acts as a server...(WIN2K3)

My Boys computer: (The, I love emulators and nothing is going to stop me comp)
Sempron 2400+
1GB ROSEWILL PC2700
BIOSTAR MOBO
GEFORCE 5700LE
SATA WD 80GB HD
Chaintech VIA EnvyHT Soundcard
FIREWIRE SOLUTION
ROSEWILL DVD-BURNER

My Girls: (The, I want to experiment with the new programs testbed comp)
Sempron 2200+
512MB ROSEWILL
ATA133 WD 40GB
ONBOARD EVERTHING ELSE
ROSEWILL DVD COMBO DRIVE

MY WIFE: (The lazy, I want to surf but do it outside while enjoying nature comp)
TOSHIBA TECRA 8100
PENTIUM III 866MHZ
256MB SDRAM
WD 10GB HD
UNKNOWN DVD-ROM

Oh yeah, the WORK PC: (The one I post from and watch the newest releases of the Bleach epi's on tuesdays)
Dell Dimension 3000
Celeron 2.4Ghz
512MB DDR
80GB ATA-133 HD
HP DVD400i DVD WRITER

They are setup for WPA2 using the DLINK 108Mbps options, with the exception of my personal pc and the HTPC.
I will not list the HTPC as I have been in the process of re-building it and it seems irrelevant. I am waiting on a set of drives to RAID on there as well.

oh and Zero Newcastle core is outdated try getting San Diego or Venice
Funny, I never mentioned or even contended whether the status of the aforementioned core was new or not? Just that I had it. To be specific though, the original variation of the 3400+ processor was the clawhammer core. This one has less L2, but more clock...being the victor in many tests regardless of the cache.

The pc is used for my domain for windows 2003, and for video editing with some other tasks as well. I maintain a small lan with my 2500 series routers, 2900 switch and the DI-624 as a means of testbenching many ideas concerning administration. Some IPAQs assist with the domain as windows xp clients, hardwired. I don't game, but I got the 5950 for $20, so I couldn't pass it up.

think u need to learn about my part before saying something ;P

AMD Athlon64 FX-57 2.8GHz is the best processor out to date (clocked from overclockers)
and Asus Extreme GeForce N7800GT DUAL 512Mb DDR3 is one of the most powerful Gcards out.

only those 2 parts costs 2500$+

so u can take your fancy scale and the parts bought on second had and /shoo ;P

Gzero
01-27-2006, 08:22 PM
cough, u both have the same card, just mcgillp has it in sli judgin by both your posts.
Intel EE > fx 57 tbh
He also has RAPTORS!!!! in Raid 0 thats faf, you can't beat a 10k rpm hdd thats in raid
Note to self: make a Sisoft benchmarks thread/ 3dmark05-06/aquamark lol
But only when I have my new pc so I can post me results
:D

shush little kid, dont lie like that ;P

and tbh a FX 57 is kiiiinda powerful when clocked :P

and btw, never trust factory clocking ^^

but i dont really care about raptors, my computer is a pure game comp that runs all games without a single lag on highest performance.

but a important thing is the sound, i was thinking about buying the same sound card as mcgilp but my friend had one that malfunction twice in 2 month so i bought a more expensive one:
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro, but im really disapointed with it, not really better then Audigy

No problem, there has been a rapid increase of double posting lately, and it gets irritating after ten warnings a day. Bumps are not used in Club bleach, because people abuse that privilege and do it up to several times just to increase their post count.

Dude ASUS boards rock! WTF are you smoking?!?!

Sorry, maybe its just that motherboard I'm using. Its slow, its unreliable, the performance was crap... well lets say everything was terrible about it. And it wasn't cheap either, it was like $150. What a waste.

I'll soon buy a GA-M55 Plus - S3G Gigabyte motherboard. Looks good. I find Gigabyte's motherboards easier to use and the quality is great.

Well, funny my 180dollar A8N-SLI Deluxe is full of awesome features, nice overclocking options, and runs 100% rock solid.

Also pushed my 2.2ghz Athlon 64 3500+ to FX-57 speeds(2.8ghz+).

well, gigabyte boards ARE good but be careful with the bios of those. i lost several bioses on my gigabyte boards (those in my school and mine at home) trough flashing (dont tell me i flashed wrong - i was NOT)
if your bios gets broke you have to go to a comp store and let them flash it.

I had an old Gigabyte motherboard and I tried updating the BIOS, and the next thing I knew I killed the motherboard. I don't see the point of updating the BIOS.

Just got my new Gigabyte motherboard and everything worked great. Sound is great, worked 100x than my piece of shit ASUS motherboard. (No offense, really you should have seen it - it was crap and the LAN didn't even work properly, sound was scratchy though I updated the drivers, no avail)

233 Mhz Pentium MMX
32MB SDRAM
15" Inch Daewoo Monitor (I still have the monitor)
3.2GB Hard Drive
32X CD ROM Drive

Microsoft Windows 95, later on upgraded to Windows 98.

Later on I upgraded the RAM to 128MB, and upgraded the hard drive to a 20GIG. Later on I upgraded the video card to a 32MB Video card, which worked for a week and killed my motherboard.

3.4ghz the core 2 duo is a bit lower but actualy faster.
pentium 4 or pentium dual core suggest core 2 duo dont need top one and will still get nice performance.
geforce 6 series (quite latest enough)
768/1024 ddr ram suggest 2048 DDR2 faster by far and will stay within software & OS needs for a while.

My computer is pretty okay, but I'm getting a new one =)
- Intel Pentium 4 2.40 GHz
- 80GB HD ( down to my last 5 )
- ATI Radeon 7000
- 768MB ram
- Windows Home Edition.

I'm ganna be getting one of these =P http://forums.bleachportal.net/showthread.php?t=21425 because my computer is really lagging when I play games, even those that don't use the internet =/. And no, I don't want to delete anything off my hard drive cause My sister deleted everything off my ipod and I can't find it on my computer
