Ok, this time I did a lot of searches, but I couldn't find a thread dedicated to Tool. Tool is as you probably know a progressive metal band, with Maynard James Keenan as vocalist, Danny Carey on drums, Justin Chancellor on bass, and Adam Jones as guitarist. These four guys are totally, totally kickass.

I just love Tool, but right now I'm having a break from Tool... I've used to listen to them 24/7 pretty much, and I kind of know all of their lyrics... Almost, anyway.

So, anyone on here who likes Tool?

I own Tool's most recent cd. Favorite song would have to be Vicarious. Overall, Tool is a good band, there worth listening too. :D

I like their song "The Pot", it gets me so intoxicated and sucked in, I get into a trance when I listen to it, haha.

Cool blackfox ^^ You should check out the album Lateralus... It's well worth it- AENIMA is one of the better albums as well. ^.^

And Captain, yeah some of Tool's song really has that effect on me... Two songs I can think of that gets me into a "trance" are Ticks & Leeches (Ticks & Leeches (Nvm the whole Final Fantasy thing... It's the vid with best sound quality I could find... -.-) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uFDrW1rQLA&mode=related&search=), and Parabola (The Parabol/Parabola video, it's two songs that belong togheter, and Parabol doesn't start until like 3-4 mins (Beware, it's kinda messed up...) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RiV_ue-PbL4)

And then you get addicted to another song.

I just listen to some Tool the other day. They're really good. My co-workers been bugging me to listen to them because the singer was the lead singer of A Perfect Circle and I love them.

Oh, Pet is an awesome APC song.

If you listen to APC, you'll love Tool. Not by instance, thou, but after a while. Just keep them on your daily playlist or something, in a while, you'll love it. You can't listen to Tool and dislike it.

my favourite band.

check out the albums Undertow and Ænima.

MJK is pretty much one of the greatest singers ever IMO, i've got some bootlegs of some of their earlier gigs and he hits every note spot on.

WTF 13th!? Check out my links above, they're really talented. Their drummer is the best drummer I know, imho. Drumming in Ticks & Leeches is just excellent, and the guitarist is like the 74th best in the world...

And Maynard has an awesome voice. All I can say is check them out.

the best two drummers in the world are John Bonham-R.I.P. and Neil Peart. anyways, i think that tool is a pretty good band. better than any other modern crap ive heard.

Tool = win. My favorite band. Their old stuff is still my favorite, like Sober and Forty-Six & 2. And then the drummer, while not the best, certainly is good. Ticks and Leeches is a good example.

Plus, their music actually has meaning behind them. Forty-Six & 2 deals with things like Jungian psychology and the next step in human evolution. Wings For Marie Pts 1 & 2 is about Maynard's mother who was paralyzed for about 10k days before dying.

Hugo you noob, didn't you know? xD

The whole album 10, 000 Days is dedicated to his mother, Judith Marie Keenan, I think that's her name, anyway. And the song "Judith" that Maynard sings with APC is also dedicated to her. If you listen to it you'll notice...

Hey, I listen to it!
I'm not analyzing it.

I defend myself by the chorus of Lateralus, and thus claiming that my mind likes my body.

I'd have to say one of my favorite songs is lateralus, it's amazing. Although all their songs kick ass it's hard to choose one. By the way, Rosetta Stoned is crazy shit.

Tool is, as many others already have pointed out, awesome! One of my,, say top 20 favourite.. band,, maybe top 30 hard to say (have around 200 favorite bands lol)

Love their earlier work and as all of thei ralbums, 10.000 days was hard to get in to.. took a few listenings. But it's almost ridiculously hard and mean.. amazing how they can make so evil music (and I can listen to pretty rough doom and death metal :p).. pretty wicked band in general.

i think its cool how they are all really smart. for those of you who don't know they are all mathematicians. and some of the artwork they do is actually mathematical drawings.

Yeah, I've heard Wings for Marie, 10,000 Days and Viginti Tres synchronized, and that song is a masterpiece. Everything comes togheter.

As for them being mathematicians, isn't that only Maynard?

Yeah, I like the APC song Judith mixed by the guy from Nine Inch Nails. One of the better songs out there, in my opinion.

Aye, Nine Inch Nails are my 2nd favorite band... Check out their first album, Pretty Hate Machine, and their two latest, With Teeth and Year Zero.

Tool is awesome, I got all their albums. My favourite one is Aenima. :)

And yeah NIN are excellent as well, With Teeth has dissapointed me a bit at first but turned out to be OK after having listened to it a few times, and Year Zero has raisen the level a bit again, excellent album. :musak:
