pshhh...yah. music junkie right here. i could list and list and my tastes are all over the place. the dresden dolls, panic!at the disco, fear before the march of flames, the hot i.q.'s, matson jones (long live local music), i could go on, but lists are boring. i really recommend listening www.kcsufm.com. it's commercial free and listen to it during it's primetime hours of 8am-8pm. you can call or instant message a request to hear any of the bands you listed in your post.

I enjoy the postal service, as well as Enon, those are probably the 2 bands that I really can say I like in this category of music

i just heard them on the radio. and i saw a video today on the International Music Feed channel. idlewild would be indie depending on the label they're signed on--a major label (ex. island records, sony music, etc.) or independent label (ex. vagrant, fueled by ramen, militia, jade tree, saddlecreeck, etc.). still some bands are considered indie after they've signed to a major because of their attitude towards music or their credibility--they don't let money and fame change why they're making music.

they are a good scottish band anyway, though i hate to say it they probably have changed though i have seen them on indie only band days :s

i'll have to give that (idlewild's older album) a listen if i ever run across it. i like to listen to the evolution of a band's sound, it's interesting to observe the change and growth of their music.

I love to listen to independent music, not as much as I love to be a part of it. =) I encourage everyone into underground music to learn an instrument and start a band. Even if it's a terrible band (hehe, I know this from experience), it's so much fun to perform. Anyways... A little slice of what I'm listening to right now:

The Locust
Get Hustle
Daft Punk (Alright, not indie, but still rump-shakingly awesome.)

i listen to screamo. actually, i listen to a whole mess of things, but screamo has evolved into being something i listen to as well. i think the funniest music i've heard was really avant garde. basically, there were repetitive noises while a woman spoke.

i've heard cloud room. that's some good stuff. and um..the killers are with island/def jam records. technically not indie. nonetheless, they are still good.

I have no idea what Indie music is (I'm rubbish when it comes to genres of music). But I like the Bloc Party songs I've heard, I like one of Franz Ferdinand's songs, as well as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. "Machine" is my favourite song by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
