that is Real Media ^^ I hope you have realplayer...otherwise invest in getting the divx (avi) version if you can download it.

search google for real alternative and download that, realplayer eats your computer from the inside out while real alternative is basicly a miniture player that has the realplayer codecs in it so you dont sacrafice your computer to real just for their codecs,

Or just find a massive Codec pack or 2. Then you have alot of more codec's for future use. There nothink more annoying if it happend to often. Also Windows Media players has a preatty good codec search from www.microsoft.com They have the most normal codec's, like ex. rmvb format.
btw. If you open windows media player, let it start the film. Then if it has downloaded the codec you can use it for all other media programs becures the dll's other files etc. are been saved in windows and not media player it self. Its just like windows dosset have a DVD decoder from the start, you need to dl it. After that all programs can run DVD's and the ex. goes on ;)

If you can avoid using real media, do so... the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.
IF YOU HAVE:
--a broadband connection (cable, DSL, T-lines, etc)
--an hour or two to spare (in other words, chill online)
--and the space to spare on the computer...
...then yourself a bit torrent client and pull the ep that way. yeah its slower, no its not direct, but it looks a hell of a lot better, sounds a hell of a lot better, and makes it so those who cant use BT (bit torrent) due to a slow connection or firewalls can still see the ep before leechers overload the servers.

yea, the bittorrent files, usualy .avi will be MUCH MUCH higher quality than the real media files, but at the expense of being 2-3 times larger

I've seen good Rm files too...
I've seen really low-quality Avi as well that were like 140+MB.
It all depends on the work of the ones who make the file.
The .RM extension does give a nearly limitless capacity when it comes to quality for little space. (I've seen 70 MB .RM files which were better quality then their 150MB counterparts.)

yeh thats true, it really depends on the encoder/subber when they make the video file... i got samurai champloo eps, around 70 >> 80mb each and they can be compared to the 175 .avi files

my full metal alchemist and full metal panic are all in RM, they are like 90mb, you can hardly tell they are RM. On the other hand i have Love Hina AVI they are like 90mb as well, they are unwatchable, the quality is that bad.

I'm having trouble with Windows media player playing some of my anime. I get picture but there is no sound. When I use the windows media player help to go get the file needed its not there and redirects me to another site that doesn't have it either. If someone could tell me where I can get a player that can play them or a codec that will help me out it would be very nice.

Bittorrent isn't always slow, especially on new torrents like Bleach weekly, I get anywhere from 300-600KB dls using Azureus.

What exactly are the disadvantages of using real player? I've never had any problem with it.

^ The file itself in terms of quality is inferior to .avi and the rest. The good thing about it is the compression. THe player itself used to be filled with crap. Not sure if the latest one has crap on it. I heard other alternative to Realplayer that is far better than the original.

Meh, I just downloaded VLC player. Wprks on almost anyfile because most usable codecs come unstalled with it. That way you don't have a lot of codecs conflicting with each other.

The newer realplayer doesn't have any crap on it. I find it rather useful as well because you can actually compress a file in Realvideo with the same quality as AVI for 1/3 the size.
Try downloading Real Player or Real Alternative. Both of these programs will play .rmvb files. The better on to download would be Real Player as it can play more file extensions, but if you are worried about hard drive space then get Real Alternative.

search rmvb converter, youll get results that will have programs that convert to AVI format... the file size gets around a 10mb increase or something. (depends on the rmvb size)
