Two songs which motivated me to write this poem. The musical notes helped me a bit, bittersweet seems to be a topic that keeps coming up in my life right now. Lost love. An interesting subject matter.

------------

There are no more sounds
Nor a glimmer of life
Only bittersweet memories
Dust and growing darkness

Broken glass sweep the floor
As faded wallpaper peel off walls
The foggy air blocking, choking
Your heart has all but forgotten

No love awaits you here
Yet you wait patiently for love
Time has escaped you
Your mind knows all but truth

One sparkle, an old photograph
Left carelessly hanging
Dancing with death
Or is that the wind?

A familiar face
Oh yes I know you
I've always known you
Have you always known me?

I look at you and have one hope
one moment one wish
for you to look me in the eye
and tell me its over.

Very strange; as I read through the poem, the imagery that was conjoured seemed to become slightly more powerful. By the time I reached the last line in the final stanza the only word that came to mind was: "Ouch"

~____~;;

In many a way I can appreciate this piece not only for it's vivid imagery, but also for the very last feeling evoked at the end of the poem.

Powerful, vivid, great empathy, I liked it. =)
