View Full Version : Question about stat items.

Alright, so, I was thinking, when Stat Items become passive, they count towards techniques and the like, no? Or so I'm assuming, since to qualify for Transcendent mind you'd need (6x4) 24 points. Even Polymath, you'd need 20 points (5x4). 10 of those points are given at the start, and all through level 20, you gain 5 points to stats. That's a 15 total, so the only way to get those points would be through the stat items. Now, my question is this: Would those stat points also count in calculating HP and RP gain? In otherwords, is it safe to assume that once those stat items become passive they are treated as actual stat points added to your person?

I think that would be a safe assumption to make, though you'd probably want to put things into brackets. Unless the system is changed to allow item dispels.
When your stats change so do your HP and RP totals. If you raise CON with a technique your HP goes up in-game.
Hm. For 24 points you'd probably need add-ons from Shikai.

add-ons from shikai? One, unless I'm mistaken (Because I wouldn't know. See reason #2), isn't shikai only taken into account in battle? (Kinda like an item that needs activating) And two, that's real great, considering my character's a hollow. ^^' If a GM could clear this up, that would be great.

((You get a Hollow Unique Ability similar to a Shikai at level 5. Look at Mantis - it's just a slightly modified Hollow, its ability is Frenzy - +2 STR, CON, Saves))
Shikais release as a free action, which means they ignore initiative (see TD, Ninjitsu Combat Art, the 90% Concealment ability). So they basically apply instantly, and you can factor them into most calculations, unless you get Zombified.

Shikais actually release as a free action on your first turn. So yeah, you can use them for gaining skills and the like.
But to get something like Polymath or Transcendant Mind, you're going to have to spend a lot of IRP getting Stat Increase Items. And yes, when you make them passive, they are ALWAYS on. Which means they count towards getting skills.

You don't "take" polymath. It is automatically granted if you have the appropriate stats for it. It's kinda like a free tech for those of you with the ability to get 5 in all stats even if you don't get the appropriate stats until the middle of your battle.
