We had a discussion earlier about how most younger people on the internet are all cocky and such to the older people on the internet. Especially in forums, I've seen some really nasty 12 year olds on forums and I've just wanted to **** them all or tell their parents what they've been doing.

Once some 10 year old didn't like one of my sites so she emailed me complaining and was very rude about it. Then when I emailed her back (and I was very nice) her mother respoded to my mail and chewed me out for "stalking" her daughter. (Apparently her daughter told her some lie about how I emailed her all the time and threatened her - WTF?!) If only if some of these parents knew what their kids were REALLY doing.

My dad absolutely hates anything animated. Every time he refers to anime, he calls it the "Japan Cartoon Porn". He used to refuse to even help me pay for manga when I was younger, but once I became 18 he's starting to let me pick out a manga (for my weekly allowance [I'm out of a job bc of school]) every week. I think he finally understands that his critism isn't deterring me.

I got my mother to watch The Grave of the Fireflies a couple of weeks ago, and she really liked it. However, my dad came in to the room about half way through the movie and completely ruiened it for my mom because he was talking about how stupid it was the entire time. At the end of the movie, he wasn't even able to summerize the story - so he wasn't even paying attention. -.-;;

My brother is in to all those horrible movies *I talked about in the Male or Female thread* and my dad is all ok with it. I would much rather having my kid watch animes than that R rated junk.

I think I would just do what my parents did to me. Explain to them the harsh realities of life when they reach 4. I will also force them to watch "The Fly" and "The Thing" consecutively at 4 in the hope that one of them throws up like my sister did. I will explain sex to them as soon as they ask or at least when they reach about 10 because you can never be too careful, then we can do some fun experiments with tampons and blackcurrant cordial. To be honest I don’t think that i could ever explain the facts of life to a child, I probably just rent look who’s talking and let Bruce Willis narrate the process for me... still do the tampon thing though, I wish I was 8 again.

It was great! my mum was trying to explain menstrual cycles to me when I was 9 and we did this great test where you put a tampon I’m a small glass of blackcurrant cordial and watch it soak up all the moisture... as it does the blood... those things are super absorbent. It just makes the harsh reality of women bleeding periodically a little more fun, fresh and exciting...

Word of advise Darren, women prefer flowers and chocolates. I have read all about this in magazines. They are traditional gifts which show love and affection. a tampon is not considered a traditional gift and thus should be well avoided... sort of sends the wrong message.

Yeah I think that any kind of extra budging in that area would be very unwieldy for me really. I have pretty poor balance anyway.

I wouldn’t find buying tampons or knickers sponges embarrassing. Its cotton wool, or maybe it isn’t, never the less it’s not like I'm wearing the thing. I ate a tampon once, well I chewed it for a while anyways.

crimson: the 21 thing is just AGE 21. it doesnt mean you dont have a real license. im 19, i have a real license. my friend got a real license when he was 16. his has 2 stripes: a blue one that says 18 in 2006 and a red one that says 21 in 2009. those are just so cops dont have to look really hard to see if you're old enough to be out late or to be at a 21+ club.

I concur. However it all depends on the type of Anime/manga being viewed right? I assume more adults would be more intrested in perfect blue opposed to something like Pokemon.
